Prodep (fluoxetine) Withdrawal Symptoms
UpdatedI've been taking Prodep 10 mg for the last 6 years. Now I want to stop taking those tablets and would like to know if there's any side effects (withdrawal symptoms) if I discontinue treatment?

Prodep contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI class antidepressant, so yes, there can be some problems and withdrawal effects if you stop taking it abruptly, especially after being on it for so many years.
Stopping these medications suddenly often results in rebound effects of depression and anxiety, which can be worse than they were when you started taking it.
You may also experience withdrawal effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, diarrhea and chills.
It is best to taper off of these medications slowly, with the assistance of your doctor.
