Re: JAZZZY (# 120)
I tip my hat to you Jazzy. You broke the code. Meaning you figured out what works for you. God bless you and long life.
Re: JAZZZY (# 120)
So happy for you that you are taking care of yourself the natural way. Some of these drugs just cause so many side effects that I have to wonder...what's the point?
Re: John (# 104)
How many days did you quit taking eliquis before starting the aspirin?
Re: Shaunna (# 123)
I stopped Eliquis "cold turkey" and started taking the Bayer 325 MG the next day. As stated before; each case is different. I consulted with my GP and Cardiologist and they gave me the ok.
Re: Marty (# 117)
No you can not contact my Cardiologist but you sure can contact one of your choice. Please remember; and I mean this with zero disrespect, each case is different. I can say that there are different types of cardiologists. My heart problem were too numerous to go into. But after my by-pass (for clogged arteries) my remaining heart issues were AFIB so I saw a Cardiologist who specialty was AFIB. Eliquis is a blood thinner and I needed it until my heart was back in sinus rhythm. Always follow your doctors treatment plan. As each issues is resolved; you start a new path. Good luck.
Re: Rick (# 19)
FIsh oil is a natural blood thinner, see if that and aspirin is acceptable to your doctor.
I have take four or five fish oil pills a day in combination with aspirin when I thought I needed it. Otherwise one or two a day.
As I replied before I was on Eliquis for a little over 3 months. My vascular doctor took me off of it & put me on 1 baby aspirin a day. I haven’t had any problems by doing that. Best wishes to all making the transfer.
Re: Geoff (# 126)
Eliquis is an anticoagulant. Aspirin is anti platelet. Big difference between anticoag’s & blood thinners. Anti coags prevent strokes by preventing coagulation.
Hi
I weaned myself of Eliquis. Instead of each day, I took 1 every other day, then 1 every 3 days until I was out of them. I then continued with the baby aspirin.
Re: Marty (# 9)
I was put on Eloquist 1 month ago. 5mb. twice a day. Since then I have had elevating pain in my left ankle that restricts my walking to minimum. I already had Neuropathy in the foot but not what I have now with pain when walking. My left wrist is also so painful I wear a brace.
I have requested my Dr. take me off. Have not received an answer but will today I'm sure.
This is bad stuff. Rather that spend there's of my life on a walker, I'll take chances with asperin that I had been on for years.
Re: Marty (# 9)
I will be glad to tell my story about Eloquist and it's affect on me.
Re: Peter (# 11)
Yes! Please share your results with me of coming off of Eliquis! I didn't see the date of this blog so when are you coming off it or have you already? How did they have you do it?
Took Eliquis for 3 mos. when done with my vascular Dr. put me on 1 baby aspirin a day. Everything was fine but I started getting purplish marks on my forearms & the back of my hands. Some were the size of half-dollars. Ugly & totally embarrassing. Our granddaughter is graduating in 3 wks. I asked my primary care Dr. if I could stop taking them for a while so as hopefully not to have any more that day. She said I could quit for 2 wks. before the graduation & then start back on them 4 times a wk. afterwards. I’ve decided to call the vascular dr. to hopefully get his approval too. I’m sorry to read of the problems that others have had. Wish you all a safe transition.
Re: Marty (# 9)
Ive been on eliquis for 3 weeks, (afib)and horrible for me, dizzy, hard to walk without holding on to something, foggy, involuntary body movements and more. I want out! Reading about Natto. Pretty excited something natural may take the place. Black box warning scary, so ive decided to wean off.. sure wish i knew before i started how much worse i would be
Re: Marty (# 9)
I have been on Eliquis for the past 7 months, due to Afib which was diagnosed in October 2017. Joint pain began in my hips in November and has steadily become worse. Since I no longer have Afib, and the joint pain has become severe in my hips and shoulders, I desperately need/must come off of Eliquis. My Afib was caused by High levels of Reverse T3, Serum in my Thyroid. Once my Thyroid was changed the Afib disappeared but now I am diagnosed with Chronic Afib. If I come off of Eliquis, I must do it by myself and I'm frankly scared. Can someone walk me through steps to come off of it?? Due to Gout, I've always had good results with Natural Vitamin E thinning my blood, but I'm willing to try Asprin and cough my head off. MANY THANKS FOR PROPOSING A GROUP STUDY - IT IS DESPERATELY NEEDED.
Almost five months after stopping ELIQUIS and began 325 MG Bayer. I understand the difference between a blood thinner and anti-clotting meds. Again only follow your Doctor's instruction. I am doing fine and enjoying saving money.
Re: JAZZZY (# 120)
I can not follow my doctors instructions for being removed from Eliquis as there are none. My heart is strong but I should not take Asprin. Does anyone know if you can just reduce the dose and come off of this pill safely. I take 5mgs, 2 X Daily. How many days, weeks, or months should I reduce the dose before I can safely be off of Eliquis
Re: Pat (# 137)
I have responded before but after a trip to ER was he to my 2nd unstoppable nose bleed I stopped Eliquis with the doctor dose. I take a baby aspirin plus fish oil etc. I do split one pill at night. Have not had another nose bleed or the threat of one. My pulse is 63 and my Afib is quiet? Follow your doctor of course but I did not. Riding in an ambulance to the ER with a nose bleed was the end for me.
Re: JAZZZY (# 120)
You are hereby given an A+. This is indeed a great post. You learn of other people's issues and with this knowledge make changes to your own life. Once you make the changes; the knowledge becomes wisdom. Each case is different.
Know it, understand it and own it. By the by there is a product called NO SALT out there that my doctor has approved for me.
All my best and keep it up.
Re: Marty (# 9)
Yes. I have been taking eliquis for 4 months and have terrible joint pain and stiffness. I now also have pelvic pain... Has anyone else had the pelvic pain? Also have trouble sleeping. Had blood in urine, too.
