I took Hydrocodone for pain for several years and became very dependent. I have been going to a Methadone Clinic now for 2 years and it saved my life. I have led a productive life since. I take care of my parents and they both are bedbound. It is getting so hard for me to go to the clinic daily. Does anyone know of a private doctor in Fort Worth Texas that subscribes Methadone? Thank you for your help

Methadone is more addictive than Morphine and 10 times harder to get off. You need to be honest with yourself. methadone is an Opiate antagonist. it may help with some pain, however compared to Morphine it is not Even close. it has been 4 years since you posted this. I hope you have quit lying to yourself. I know. I have been taking methadone for 10 Years and it does not stop my pain.

I am an opiate addict, so I went to a physician and told her I was planning on quitting and needed help. I suffer severe cramps when detoxing. Anyway I was prescribed Suboxone which was $180 for 15 pills. They DID work, HOWEVER ONLY WITH THE PHYSICAL part of detox. I have been in severe depression since I quit and Suboxone has not helped AT ALL for my mental frame of mind. I apologize, but the mental addiction is for pretty much the remainder of your life, once an addict. After 3 days my body had recooped. This is only my opinion, but Methadone is superior than Suboxone and my Dr. never even offered it. The pharmaceutical companies got them ALL pushing this new Suboxone crap!

Only every 3 months you get 1 day, after a yr you get a week, so it's kinda a b**** but I don't know any that gives a month.

Doctor Richard Snodgrass is the doctor in dodge city Kansas and his office visits are 90 dollars but that a long drive every month but I have been doing it for 2 months now and really need to find doctor in fort worth tx .

The doctor in dodge city Kansas was giving me a months worth at a time for pain not addiction but when you have to go to a clinic they will only treat addition I have 3 weeks worth of methadone now but have to find a doctor or drive back to Dodge City Kansas again because I'm having trouble finding a doctor here .

No doctor is going to prescribe you methadone for addiction. Doctors will prescribe methadone but only for pain, not addiction. The only way to get methadone for addiction is through a clinic, so you can be monitored and do counseling ect... The only thing that can be prescribed by a doctor for addiction outside of a clinic is suboxone, and even that can be hard to find because their aren't many doctors who are authorized to prescribe it and the ones who do can only treat so many patients at a time. If you have been at a clinic for that log you should have take homes by now.

There is a Clinic off 67 and Hampton. Called Crossroads. I've been going two years now and I get a weeks worth of doses at a time. Only go on Saturdays. But if your still looking , you might be able to do a clinic transfer and start getting your dose and 6 take homes.

I live in Maryland and 1 month is the max take home amount allowed. and even then you still need to see our counseler once a week and do at least 1 group a month.

When I decided to detox hrough taking suboxone, it was very good at taking the place of methadone. Once I felt like it had been long enough to get the methadone out of my systom, about a year. It's a synthetic drug and takes pretty long to get it all out. I decided to stop the suboxone, whch i did by tapering down. il itwas a breeze. I would suggest it to anyone with an opiate addiction. I was on 150 mgs. Of methadone. Suboxone was a Godsend.
