I have been taking 100mg every day, however I've recently started going off them and since the lowest tablet is 50mg I've had to stop completely now and I'm kind of freaking out.. I've been really quite dizzy the last few days of being off it, as well as feeling a more down about everything.. Also having brain 'zaps' I guess, when I move my eyes too much..and difficulty concentrating.. I don't know what I should do, whether to go back on or not, and how long I'll be feeling this way and experiencing these symptoms..any advice or anything would be rea...
how long to lose weight after withdrawing from pristiq. I cut sugar and trying to eat less. ## Sugar alone usually isn't the problem in foods that causes weight gain, you also have to watch the total calories and the amount of fat that's in the things you eat. On top of that, you also need to increase your exercise levels. Learn more weight loss information here. Has your doctor provided you with any ideas?
Small pink pill with W50 on one side and nothing on the other side in Canada ## The square pink pill you are describing is a 50mg Pristiq Extended Release tablet. Pristiq is an antidepressant of the serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor class developed and marketed by Wyeth, hence the "W"; but they are now part of Pfizer. Learn more: Pristiq Details I hope this helps! ## Thank You for your response.
Took Pristiq for only two weeks (it did help me) but naive me stopped taking it without Tapering down and now have one week with headaches and light headed buzzing symptoms, have to take aspirin for the headaches, please how long this would last? never been on AD before, I'm getting worried this could last forever Thank you ## Hi Elias, After reading a number of reviews from withdrawal patients, it seems like your symptoms shouldn't last more than 2 weeks. I came across another post where as this person was on Pristiq for 3 months and had similar withdrawal symptoms to what you mentioned for about 17 days straight before they subsided. I know everyone can be affected differently by these drugs, but I hope this helps give you an idea of how long they can last based on the duratio...
I am switching from Lexapro to Pristiq with my Pdoc. He recommended that I drop from my regular 20 mg of lexapro to 10mg and go to 50mg of pristiq. He said after 2 weeks drop the lexapro altogether. is this safe? is it too fast? I take 2 10mg tablets. Should I maybe go to 15mg--10mg-5mg-0? How have other people made the transition with minimum problems? ## How long have you been taking Lexapro for? From my perspective I think what your doctor recommend is fine. What's safe for "you" may not necessarily be safe for someone else (and vise versa, because everyone is different). If you're tapering your Lexapro dose down to 10mg from 20mg within 2 weeks, in my opinion, that seems to be a sufficient time frame to re-adjust. If tapering the dose really concerns you though, I wo...
Just found out the antidepressant Pristiq has Gluten in it. Can you tell me if there is one that has not ## I'm sorry, but the relevant ingredient information we have is only accurate for medications that are available in the U.S. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? If you have a gluten allergy, you can also try making your pharmacy/chemist aware of that, so they can check medication ingredients for you. ## My wife has celiac disease (intolerance of gluten products). She may be suffering from depression, too. I'd like to know if there are any anti-depressants that are gluten-free, that is, safe for celiac patients to use.

How long has it taken 4 anyone 2 lose the weight after going off of the pristiq? It has been over 1 mth since I have quit taken pristiq and havent lost any weight.I was once on zoloft and gained 20lbs and once I quit taking it I lost the weight n 2 to 3 weeks. ## Have you consulted your doctor? What have you tried to lose the weight? Our bodies do change, with time, so it may not be as easy for you to lose the weight, as it was when you stopped taking the Zoloft and that also means that not all of the gain may have been caused by the medication.
Has anyone experienced this high blood pressure and severe headaches with Prestique 100mg a day? I have been on it for 4 monthes now and have just started experiencing these symptoms this past month. Blood pressure as high as 210/110 and I was in the hospital for 4 days. All cardiac and blood clot issues have been ruled out. I am at my wits end..can someone out there help me? I have also been started on 2 blood pressure pills without effect. My psychiatrist suggessted lowering my dosage to 50mg a day. ## Yes, Pristiq is actually listed with a warning that it can cause hypertension in some people and if a doctor wants someone that already has it to use it, their blood pressure must be well under control, before starting the medication. There is a good chance that the headaches were relat...
I was severely depressed due to the loss of my husband in May. My doctor started me out on Zoloft but it did work well for me. Had tremors and felt sick. He switched me to PRistiq starting at 50 mg. I was better for awhile but the dosage was not high enough. I am now on 100 mg and doing much better. No bad side effects and I have lost a lot of weight (this started even before I started taking the Zoloft). My appetite has definitely decreased but I do not feel the need to eat more and food tastes fine. My husband dying and being depressed is a terrible way to trigger a weight loss but I am at a much healthier weight for my age and height. ## I am very sorry to hear of your loss, but also glad that you found a medication to help you. If you do need to know anything else about it, here'...
I have been on Pristiq for over a year to combat hot flashes. Getting off of this little pill is about to kill me - why didn't anyone tell me how hard it is to stop taking Pristiq? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Our bodies will get used to any medication we take for a long period of time and a sudden cessation can cause some withdrawal symptoms. Since this contains the active ingredient Desvenlafaxine, which is an SNRI antidepressant, its effects on brain chemicals can also also cause redound effects, such as anxiety and depression, even if that's not what you were taking it to treat. It usually requires a slow taper, to discontinue it and prevent the worst of the associated problems.
I have been on Pristiq for 6 months. I have been on anti-depressants for major depression for 20 yrs. I have gained 12 pounds in 6 months. Mentally, I feel great; however, I am very depressed at times about my weight. I have never been this heavy in my life. I am not hungry, I eat very little, work out and still don't lose. ## Weight gain is not a normal side effect of Pristiq, it usually causes the opposite, actually, because it normally decreases someone's appetite. It is possible that it is just a completely natural thing, some people do gain weight, as they age, because of metabolic changes that occur, so it may not be the medication, at all. That would also explain why you aren't losing any weight. If the 12 pound gain is a problem, you should speak to your doctor. If y...
Why does Pristiq antidepressant cause constipation? ## That question is pretty black and white; every prescription drug has potential side effects. This would definitely be something you'd have to ask the manufacturer. Only they would know why the drug is formulated the way it is and for what advantages and disadvantages it serves by being made that way.
Doctor switched me from effexor 75mg to pristiq 50mg because the effexor was giving me terrible nausea. I have been on the pristiq for 2 days and it is giving me diarrhea and making me so sick to my stomach! Help! Anybody else have this experience? Would it be ok to just stop taking the pristiq since i have just been taking it for 2 days? Please help; I feel so sick and so alone!!! ## Have you spoken to your doctor, yet? There are actually several possibilities here that could be causing the problem. They could be caused from stopping the Effexor, thus they may be mild withdrawal effects. They could be cause from starting the Pristiq, or it could be a combination of both factors. Since these medications do work on brain chemicals, it isn't advisable to just stop abruptly, because it...

Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, dry mouth, dizziness and constipation. ## After using Pristig for two weeks I have found it to be very helpful in treating anxiety and mild depression. My friend was on prestig and murdered his wife. He was a good hard working man. Could this drug have contributed to his behavior? ## Pristiq is an antidepressant medication. Information I was able to gather states that nausea is the most common side effect associated with Pristiq. I also retrieved that suicidal ideation was monitored and was determined to be significant in 1-2 patients in each study. I am not an MD, however I do believe it would be best to immediately consult your doctor about this occurrence to see if Prestiq plays a clear role in managing your friends behavior. To view more information about this drug, please refer to the link below If you have any more questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to post back so I can further assist you. ## I was taking 100 MG of...

Was actress Anastasia Griffin in any Prestique Commercials? ## Are neurologist recommending pristiq for those patients with Parkinson's Disease who are depressant? ## As to the question about the actress, I have to be honest and say I don't know Rob, Pristiq is not approved for that use, however, doctos are permitted to prescribe according to their experience, so I really do not know.
