Pristiq Effectiveness

I have been on pristiq for 2 and a half months for severe OCD and anxiety panic attacks.
Before taking it I became very depressed did not want to leave the house because I would be scared of the environment and what could be in the air and what harm it could do.
I also became very moody and upset when my family did not follow what I was doing And would go and do things I deemed as unsafe.
I stopped eating and lost 15 kilos over 6 months .I was to scared the food was contaminated and my hands were dirty .
So I would wash my hands till they bled with small cuts all over them.
The pristiq took about 3 weeks to have effect I woke up with heeps of energy and started eating well again and those environment issues were still there however I would not ponder over them for 24hours or even days I would be able to move on from them after 10 to 15 minutes.
Problem is I am on 50mg of pristiq at present and I believe it has stopped working as I am feeling lethargic and some of those environmental issues I cannot get out of my head.
Has anyone had this experience that the meds stopped working and did you up the dosage or change meds or was there another way you got yourself out of this problem.
I am struggling to return to work and have been off work for 6 months with a large family to support and I am struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel .
Any similar experiences or advice on your experiences with meds would be appreciated.

Hello, Nick! How are you? I'm very sorry about everything you've been through.

Yes, you may need a higher dosage, it can sometimes take a few tries to get it just right and alleviate all of your symptoms.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.

Have you also tried counseling or therapy? It can be very beneficial, as well.
