All what liquid? If you are taking Prepotic there is only a little bit to drink twice ,like 6 oz hours apart and then over the next couple hours 4 glasses of water. If you can't do that one you wouldn't be able to do any of the others which require much more in a shorter time. What are you taking?

Not usually. It's probably your nerves. By the time you are cleaned out you will just have almost clear liquid coming out. Any little bit left they just suck out. You'll be in twilight sleep by then

Try not to worry.you won't remember anything. The will sedate you so you will be relaxed. Everyone is scared their first time but the worst part is the prep and you have the easiest one to use.drink a lot of water after you take the prep but do it comfortably. Juice like apple juice is good, nothing with pulp like orange juice. Stay close to the john and try to relax. You'll be fine

You can't possibly start a prep on the same day as the procedure. It is started the day before. Call your doctor. It takes hours to clean out.

I am scared out of mind. This is my first rodeo with all of this. Is there any tips. I start the prepopik tomorrow at 6 and my procedure is tomorrow. Help me please

Had my first examination last week! Had been avoiding it for 16 yrs! Just too afraid! Yes now 66 yrs old. My Dr prescribed Prepopik. I am allergic to most meds. Well I want you to know all the horror stories I had heard from my friends about drinking gallons of pegion crap to pain were just that false stories!!!! The prep was mostly tasteless if I had to say I would say kinda like soda water. Only had to drink 5 oz. of it at 6 pm.then 5 cups of 8 oz of my choice of liguid. I drank ginger ale, water and crystal light lemonade. I had 5 hrs to drink it but was finished within 1 hour.At 8 pm until 10 had about 6 trips to bathroom all liquid. No cramps or pain. Went to sleep at 11pm. Up at 6am for second round but only had to follow with 3 cups of 8 oz ginger ale. Bathroom 2 times from 8 to 9. Procedure was at 11am. I do not remember a thing. Woke up like from a wonderful sleep. Ate Italian on the way home and all was normal!!! I paid 94 dollars for the prep. But I would next time pay double it was the best! Hope this helps others that might be as afraid as I was!

I have to meet a high deductible before my insurance will pay a nickel. This product seems far too expensive, and I had to pay for it out of my pocket (over $100). Think twice before filling a prescription for this if it's in preparation for a routine colonoscopy. In my opinion, it's a total rip off. If I could do it over again, I would not have filled the prescription. I would have asked my doctor to prescribe a generic preparation that is a fraction of the cost of Prepopik.

Since there is so little to drink I don't understand why you had trouble drinking it with just water. It doesn't taste bad like the other preps do. Tastes like warm Tang. How do you know it tastes bad if you mixed it with Gatorade from the get go? You should use water and its only about 8 oz's as I remember. Been a while.

Even some of the older preps are pricey. For the extra few bucks I think this is worth it.

well thank you for the information... no need to be rude however. it's an understandable mistake to make considering so many other laxative products can be mixed into other liquids.

In order for Prepipk to dissolve you need to mix it with WATER and stir for 2 minutes. That's where the drug "compounds." it doesn't say mix it with Gatorade!!!! Read the directions. Compliance is the biggest part of getting any drug to work right.

hi everyone…
i need some advice!

my doctor gave me prepopik not for preparation for a colonoscopy but because i have a severe blockage/constipation that is filling up my entire colon! discovered this earlier this week when i went to the ER due to abdominal pain and vomiting up everything (even slow sips of water). they tried a huge enema and had me drink a 10 oz bottle of magnesium citrate. NOTHING happened, so i did 2 more at-home enemas and another bottle of magnesium citrate. this hardly did anything, hence why my GI doctor just gave me the prepopik.

since i'm not having a procedure done, it's a little difficult to find information (since i am not on a strict time frame, and don't actually have to completely clear my colon, etc.

MY BIGGEST QUESTION IS THIS: how can i take this medicine without vomiting? i mixed the powder with gatorade instead of water, and i tried to gulp it since it tasted so terrible and burned (gulped about 3-4 oz of it, then threw up a ton. is this only because i overdid it by trying to gulp it? or did i maybe mess up the chemicals by mixing the powder with gatorade? for my second step, should i mix it with water instead, or stick to the gatorade sports drink because the flavoring makes it slightly less nausea inducing? should i dilute it more so i'd have 10 oz of medicine instead of 5, for instance?

i'd really appreciate help ASAP so if anyone is online that'd be great! thank you!

I haven't taken it yet, but I, too, am outraged at the price. Pharmacy cost was $125, and $107 out of pocket after insurance applied. This is a total rip off and should not be allowed. 2 packets of powder and a plastic cup. Some regulatory body needs to do something about this. I'm sure this is why insurance doesn't pay much. It just isn't worth the cost.
