Prepopik Laxative (Page 13) (Top voted first)
UpdatedHas anyone in the US used this yet for colonscopy and what did it cost?
I can take more of five glass of drink after the first dose?
I am allergic to sulfa drugs as well so your comment put me at ease for that. I am also 112 pounds and was worried about the prepopik working TOO GOOD on my smaller petite frame, but it did well for you. I do my prep in four days. I am nervous but will be do my best. Anyone know if it is OK to drink the 5 ounce mixture slowly over a 30 minute period instead of gulping it?
Shannon, what pharmacy did you use?
I am doing the PICO-SALAX (PREPOPIK) preparation right now and am wondering if I can drink more than Five (5) 8- ounce drinks of clear liquid within the 5 hours recommended by the doctor's office. Any ideas how more liquid can affect the process? Thanks
Just used it this week. After 5:00 pm dose 2 hours later started going, It became liquid by 11:00 pm, then I had horrible vomiting all night, was so dehydrated and needed iv fluids. Will not used this again, stomach very painful with burning sensation. Could not take 2nd dose was too sick.
Took 1st dose at 5:00 p.m., 2nd not to be taken until sometime in night, but I'm going to follow suggestions some of you made to take it before going to bed. I followed 1st dose with 40 oz. of clear liquids as per instructions, been on liquid diet since late last night, but nothing has happened so far & it's 9:25. I'm taking 2nd dose @ 10:00 p.m. in prep for 10:15 a.m. procedure. I've had no side effects so far except slight headache. Like most of you, I'll never use the dulcolax & miralax again. So glad I insisted on an alternative & so glad I was heard. This Prepopix orange-flavored powder tastes just fine & was easy to drink, so I highly recommend it. My prescription was free--not sure why--maybe I've met my deductible since my benefit year ends 8/31.
Is Propopik the way to go for a bowel prep? I was supposed to have my very first colonoscopy today but i couldn't drink the huge container of prep my Doctor prescrobed, it was horrible!!
It just cost me 24.00. My colonoscopy is in morning so this shall be interesting.
I am having a colonoscopy Thursday I only with 129 lbs. im afraid that 2 packs is to much for me since I'm petite . After you drank the 5 oz of the prep did you had to drink the 5 glasses of water 8 oz right away? How much do you weigh if you don't mind?
Thank you
I am with this lady. I will never use PREPOPIK again. It did not work and cost me $140.00. Get the stuff in the gallon jug. It works and does not cost an arm and a leg.
Thank you. I was really getting freaked out from these comments. I'm supposed to get a colonoscopy at the end of October. Thank you again.
While this product cleaned me out as advertised without undue discomfort, and I had a good report, I have been severely constipated since (21 days and counting). No BM for first 11 days, then started Miralax for 7 days, but still had severe bloating and only 4 BM's. Been using fiber, exercise, probiotics and more Miralax. Got NO help with this from my colonoscopy doctor either, they just tried to minimized the issue and are keeping me away from the doctor and his RN. Searching all that is available is all I can do at this point, and I found others who had even more severe constipation than me. While it seems to be an uncommon result, for some like me, it is quite concerning and uncomfortable for a long period of time. Wondering if it cleaned out all the good bacteria, and severely shocked my intestines.
I love this prep. My doctor gave me the kit. I will definitely use it again
If you don't mind my asking, how long before you started to "go". I'm two hours in and nothing.
It's been an hour since I've taken my Prepopik. Nothing has happened. I'm a little nervous. I'm just on the first prep pack of power. I've drank my 40oz of fluid. Nil, nada, zip, zilch. I wish this would hurry up. I didn't have to pay anything for the prep. My insurance covered it all, but if it doesn't work, what is the point?
Yes, I used it. Mine was free. My insurance covered it completely
My procedure is in the a.m. I just completed the second dotage of Prepopik. It really is much better than the previous gallon prep. There's a salty, weird take but it's very tolerable. 5:45 is the so of the procedure and I'm not drinking the 3 ounce cups of water
My husband is doing this and after four hours and all the liquid, still hasn't gone. When did you finally 'go?'
It is happening to me as well, I'm just in such burning pain, I am afraid to go to the bathroom. I even think I am bleeding. It is like acid is burning when I go to the bathroom. The worse feeling.
Re: MaVan (# 283)
This is day 1 after the colposcopy and I have gone to the bathroom 3 times this morning and it bright yellow clear fluid. I'm a bit concerned because you can smell the bile. I had a colonoscopy in 94 and never had this occur. I'm getting worried.
