I have swelling and severe pain on my right ankle. Dosage: 2 days three tabs, then 2 days 2tabs and last 2days 1tab. ## Omnacortil contains the active ingredient Prednisone, this is a steroid that is commonly used to treat severe swelling. No, Prednisone is a steroid and it will not help with such an issue. If you have a toothache, you most likely have an infection, which will require an antibiotic and proper dental treatment. Due to acute, severe Osteoarthritic shoulder pain, an Emergency Room physician prescribed one, 10mg/21 tablet medrol dose pak, of Prednisone (Prednisone is written in big bold black letters, on the yellow box), to be taken over a six day period, in equally divided doses, one less tablet each day: 6-5-4-3-2-1), along with a sling and NO X-Rays. I filled the prescription on Tuesday and started taking it, but by around 6pm on Tuesday, my shoulder was even worse! Having heard the news that another local hospital was better, I went to the alternate and "that" hospital ER physician (an M.D. this time, as opposed to a P.A., on Monday), gave me a much better sling, a swathe, as well, a "complete* series of shoulder X-Rays, and yet another prescription for the "identical" box...

I have been on 40 milligrams of Prednisone for about 5 weeks now because of autoimmune pancreatitis. In the past weeks I have gained 35 pounds in water retention whatever you wanna call it. I'm so depressed and feel like crap all the time but when I don't take the medicine for about a day I start getting really bad pains in my knees or the back of my leg. The doctor is giving me another prescription to slowly wean 5 milligrams off a week but it doesn't seem to be making anything better. I'm at 25 milligrams now still no difference in the side effects or the appearance and my face. I have always been about a hundred and ten pounds and right now I'm at 147. So the weight gain is very noticeable. If anybody has any advice on quitting this medication in a quick manner or...

Yikes. I accidentally took all my first day of Methylprednisolone pills at one time. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Usually, they are only spaced out to try to help minimize the side effects, as listed by the FDA, they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and insomnia, so taking them all at once, may worsen those effects. The last time I was on this, my pharmacist flat out told me that it was fine to talk them, all at once, if I preferred, so I did. If I did so in the morning, then the worst of the side effects were worn off, by the time I was ready to go to bed. It's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure, though. ## This was helpful.I took all 6 at once and thought I might have overdosed.

I've been diagnosed with gout, and my doctor has prescribed a treatment plan for me. My doctor prescribed 20mg of Prednisone to be taken 3 (60mg) at a time once a day. I took my first dosage around 3:30pm and accidentally took another 3 tables (60mg) around 11:30pm the same day. I have hives from taking prednisone. My mouth also feels torn up, and some minor throat irritation. I was on the meds for 6 days. When will the hives dissapear, and other symptoms? Anyone have this experience? ## If you developed hives from taking it, there is a good chance that you had an allergic reaction to this medication, as reported by the FDA, and if that is the case, you will have to avoid taking it in the future, because such allergic reactions tend to get worse, with repeated exposure. Have you had your doctor check it out for you? A couple years ago, I discovered the hard way that I was allergic to the antibiotic Bactrim and it took several weeks for all of the symptoms to finally clear up.

I misread the instructions..they read take 3 tables by mouth daily 3 times a day. I took 3 tables in the morning and 3 tables in the afternoon. As soon as I realized my mistake and took no more tables. ## Hello, Candace! How are you? Have had a bad cold for 15 days, chest infection, coughing sputum all night. Just been prescribed 30 mg Prednisone once daily for 5 days, because of tightness in chest. Hi. I just want to ask if a person has given 2 tablets of prednisone 20mg instead of 1 tab in just a day, does it mean, he/she needs to skip the another dose for tomorrow? ## Hello, Pranky!
