I was given amox-clav 875mg 2 times a day for a upper respiratory infection. Along with prednisone. I am on day 3 I am still running a low grade temperature and coughing. Is it not working? Should I go back to the dr or give is more time. I have had pneumonia before when I was very young. ## How are you feeling, now? Has there been any change? I have read alot of reviews here and on other web sites, but all I can say about this drug is...Where have you been...I am taking 5m tabs 12 a day for 5 days and it decreases to 10 for 4 days and 8 for 3 until you're down to one tab. I am taking it for a lower back pain caused by 2 degenterive discs and bone chips. It help straighten me up and eliminated 90% of the pain. My concern is what happens when I have to stop....I love this medication, and it has also cleared my vision where I no longer need cheaters...It works for me ## I have been off and on drugs for Chronic Neuropathy for 13 years.Nothing helps the pain.Now they want to put me on Prednisone and I am afraid of it.Does anyone have any horror stories on Predisone?I need to know before I commit myself to this...Please!! Have had shots and pills of Levofloxaci and prednisone with Guaiatussin cough surup. I feel better after taking but keeps coming back. I have been using Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray and allergy aller-technology everyday too. Is it time for a specialist? ## Yes, I think it is likely time for you to see an ENT. I was in ER this morning and was diagnosed with acute bronchitis...I was prescribed 20mg of prednisone 1x daily...my question is, the ER doc said if I started them tomorrow (Weds) that I would be in great shape by Sunday....as I'm leaving for vacation....He said 5 days, and I'll be good....he prescribed me 15 pills, which makes me think he meant 3x daily for 5 days???....however, bottle says 1x daily???....do you think this could be a mistake? ...thank you in advance! ## You should take it as directed by the doctor. I have a terrible rash on my neck, chest and spreading to my breasts. I am on 20 mg. of prednisone (reduced from 30 mg) and have been for almost a month. I usually take prednisone on an as needed basis but was prescribed this 7 day prescription. I was prescribed two 20 mg of pednisone tablets per day for five days because of a stubborn allergy and sinus infection. I took both of the pills at 9 am this morning to start with because I normally suffer from several nights a week of insomnia anyway.To try to prevent any more sleep problems by adding these pills in, I decided to take them both in the morning hoping the nervousness that they cause would subside enough so by bedtime, about 11 pm, I can sleep. I have been prescribed to take 20 mg prednisone a day but haven't started taking it yet because of the scary side effects. The doctor prescribed methis medicine because of the lumps that has been on my leg. The prescription says to take 7 days 20mg , 7 days 10 mg and 3 days 5mg. Im really scared to take the meds because of the reviews that i have read. Prednison & Plavix can you take this combo ? ## If you take plavix & have a stent in your heart, can you take predinsone to gain weight ## I'm not finding any contraindications regarding taking them together, however, you should always consult a doctor or pharmacist to be certain. And no, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to take it, you shouldn't use Prednisone, if you are a heart patient. It can cause fluid retention and, if you are an existing heart patient, this ups your risk of suffering congestive heart failure. I had been given a 30 mg prednisone which should be cut in half and be taken for twice a day. But I accidentally took the whole tablet in the morning already. So it's like i took the other dose(the next half one) in advance for the day. I'm not sure if still it would just be okay or not, or if it wouldn't be effective anymore after that ## Oh yes, there should not be any problem, unless your doctor deems otherwise. The only reason they are usually split up throughout the day is to minimize the side effects, but they normally can be taken all at once, if needed.
