Is there any other drug that could cause a false positive for prednisone in a urine sample? are there any skin care products which could also? I have never taken predisone and it came up positiove in my drug test and i have no explanation as to how thanks in advance ## can prednisone give a postive drug test for thc ## As long as you have your prescription paperwork you wont get sanctioned.

Hey, I am having a horrible bout of tonsillitis with bad ear and throat pain. My doctor initially prescribed amoxicillin 3 days ago but pain still persisted, I went back today and got 50mg prednisone daily for 5 days plus a 10 day course of cephalexin. Is 50mg too much over a 5 day period. With previous bouts I was prescribed 10 mg twice daily for 2-4 days with no side effects. I took my first dose after filling the prescription at around 2 PM and am feeling mild discomfort in my muscles and can't seem to sleep. Is this dose to heavy? The pain in ear and throat have subsided which is great but worried about prednisone side effects. I take 2 pills of 100mg quetiapine + 1 pill of citalopram 40mg + 4 tabs of prednisone 10mg + 3 tabs of buspirone 15mg each + 2 tabs of sertraline 100mg each + 8 tabs of hydroxyzine pamoate 25mg each. Will any of my meds cause me to fail a urine drug test?

I am a 30 year old female and in the beginning of March 2013 I got terribly sick with some sort of cold paired with a severe sinus infection. I was prescribed Methylprednisolone 4mg dose pack. I completed that with only minor side effects however it didn't really work and I was back at the doctor a mere week later feeling just as bad. I was then prescribed Prednisone 20mg tablets, taking 3 daily for 5 days. It helped my symptoms and I felt better. However, my last dose was Sunday 3/17/2013 and today is Wednesday 3/20/2013 and I am feeling incredibly strange. I feel weak, tired, irritable, depressed, dizzy and light-headed at times, off balance and I am getting mild headaches. I'm also moody and have a short temper. Can someone take 10 mg of Prednisone then just stop or do you have to taper off? ## Just one tablet likely won't require a taper, but it's also not going to help you much, since that won't give it a chance to have much of a therapeutic effect in the body. Prednisone for my cat. Can prednisone 5 mg for humans be substituted for the cat since medications are running low? ## Prednisone will kill cats. It's for dogs only according to my vet. The one for cats is called Prednisolone 5 mg. ## In veterinary manuals, it is warned this it should be avoided in pregnant cats, and kittens, but it can be used in adult cats, if your vet approves. There are risks associated with giving any medication to you pet, just like there are with people, but both Prednisolone and Prednisone can be used in cats and dogs. However, your vet really has the final say on that, so I would suggest asking them, just to be careful. Your cat may not need a longer course of it, or they may want to explore a different treatment option. How is your cat doing?

I am a 64 yr. old woman with severe rheumatoid arthritis & damage in my spine including stenosis in two areas of my spine-neck & lower back. I had a allergic reaction to some makeup or cream and had very swollen and red eyelids/skin. Was prescribed 8 pills of 20 mg prednisone to take 2x/day for 4 days. I look so much better after taking the 3 pills, can I just stop now or is it like an anibotic and I need to finish the course of the pills? I had to have two c pack breathing treatments yesterday plus a shot of Prednisone but I did a albuterol breathing earlier that day so why all the stuff at er ## Hi Lucy, Sorry to hear about your experience at the ER. Based on my research, C-pack breathing treatment may be referring to CPAP breathing devices that are commonly used to help treat breathing disorders; typically sleep apnea. If you run a search on google images for "cpap machines" you'll get an idea of what they look like. However, I suppose the only way to find out why they did what they did at the ER is to contact them directly... How have you been feeling lately?

I have been on Prednisone 10mg for approx. four years, can I just stop taking it or do I need to taper off? My doctor said I could just stop so I did. Now I can't sleep, can't get comfortable, running nose, watery eyes, sneezing and cold shakes. An "Emergency" doctor told me I needed to be weened by 1 mg per week. ## Yes, if someone has been taking a steroid like this for more than 21 days, they should be tapered off of it to prevent complications, such as adrenal fatigue, according to FDA warnings. I am interested in hearing about any bad experiences with the prednisone. My husband has been taking it for 1 year. He started on 50mg and has been trying to taper all year but in the past his disease has flared up as the dose got lower and so it was increased again. This time he has been luck and got down to 10mg and then began losing his mind. In the last couple of weeks he has had panic attacks, mood swings, brain fades (moments of complete blankness where he is unable to talk/move or anything, inability to speak, dis inhibited behaviour and peculiar behaviour where he will simply repeats words over and over. I want to know if anyone is living with someone, anyone like me: I have a husband who have been on Prednisone for over 6 months due to an undiagnosed breathing condition. It helps him breath so we are thankful for that, but that's IT! Now the new Dr. has him tapering down, per my request, thank goodness. Meanwhile, I still live in hell. I don't know my husband anymore. His personality is gone, his sense of humor gone. What I do have is: constant anger over nothing, anything, fights with me over the stupid things in life that makes every day a living hell. My doctor started me on apo-prednisone 5mg for a rash all over my body and scalp. My plan is to start with 10 pills then taper by one pill every second day down to zero! I was prescribed 20 mg predizone for my hands. I started taking them yesterday. I only took one o at 4: 00 pm. Now its 6/3/17 at 8: 07 am. I have a headache. My question is, can I take one excedrine now and then at 4: 00 take my next dose of predizone.? ## Generally, the FDA recommends that you not take the Excedrin with Prednisone, due to the Aspirin in it and the fact that it can compound the gastrointestinal issues that both risk causing as side effects, such as nausea, bleeding, and ulcers. If your doctor approves, it might be better to just stick with Tylenol/Acetaminophen, while you are taking the prednisone. Is there anything else I can help with?
