I have to give my dog peri-pred (prednisone for babies) and her prescription has expired. Is it still safe to give my dog this liquid prednisone. ## Expired tablets (depending on the type of medication and how it's stored) may generally be regarded as safe under certain circumstances. However, when it comes to liquid solutions, I don't think it's wise to take any chances if has been expired for any significant length of time. That's just my two cents though. So it may be best to discuss the benefits vs risks with a qualified veterinarian who can evaluate the dog in person. Hello my name is diane. Iam on 30mg of methedone liquid once a day for addiction treatment. Today a doctor at emerg put me on 50mg of prednizone for 5 days for a bad allergic reaction that happened three days ago but i am unaware of what caused it. Could anyone please tell me if there will be any drug interactions with this? coming off panafcort ## Hello, Darrell! How are you? This contains the active ingredient Prednisone and withdrawing too rapidly could create some risks, such as adrenal issues. How long have you been taking it? What dosage are you on? ## Thank you for your reply. I was given Amox/K Clav 875-125MG, 1 Tab 2X day for 10 days. Also Prednisone 20mg (Deltasone) for a very bad cold that has chronically recurred for a couple weeks each time, with just about a week being clear after each recurrence. I have severe coughing, headache, an enormous amount of nasal/throat mucus (like burnt vanilla pudding, and bloody) with facial, neck and lower abdomen, lower chest and lower back pain. All that is unusual for me. The astonishing number of disclaimers and side effects is shocking and frightening; so I have the prescription sitting on my nightstand, unused after filling it today. I take three 10mg physeptone daily for chronic pain caused by lupus and fibromyalgia. Recently developed a virus which caused painful inflammation when dry coughing and extra pain throughout my body. I also did not realize I had a temp above 38c. My doctor prescribed 25mg prednisone for a week. Just in two days of taking prednisone I haven’t needed to take physeptone (I can’t take morphine based drugs). Prednisone has worked like a miracle in reducing pain. I started on prednisone for extreme knee and hip pain. Can't sleep. No relief yet. Can I take hydrocodone? I took Tylenol several hours ago with no relief from that either. ## I was put on Celebrex, 200 mg, for severe hip pain and arthritis. Can't mix Advil (only Tylenol) which does nothing for me. Tried cutting a 5/300 Vicodin in half and that sure helped take the edge off. Am going to discuss further with my neuromuscularskeletal doctor. Trying to avoid an epidural shot and surgery. It's coming to the end of my 3rd day without prednisone.I was only suppose to take 40mg for 5 days. However I don't metabolize medicines well & the side effects were way too rough on me. I did 3 days of 40 mg & 4 days of 20mg until the ten pills were gone. I took them inflammation of the lingual tonsils. I'm having some pretty bad after effects, I get aura like feelings. I feel as though I could pass out, I keep getting.joint pains, my arthritis in my back is killing me. Around the same times everyday i get extremely fatigued, spaced out and useless. HERPES ZOSTER VACCINE ## I have had Herpes Simplex which should effect my mouth. My Igm titer which should be less than 20 is 785. I get Herpes everywhere and on both sides of my body. Immunologist looked at my outbreak and after bloodwork for EVERYTHING she said I had Herpes in my DNA. First outbreak, 1975 as appendix burst. Since then, I'm 65 now, I get outbreaks every other month and before it comes the lymp nodes in the area it will be in swell, giving me a sign . Will I fail a urine test because of prednisone 20 mg and 400 mg Acyclovir? The er said I have Bell's palsy. I got to take one in two days from now for probation. I have not taken anything other than silver sulfadiazine and something else that the e.r. gave me for Bells Palsy. ## I took a urine test at a homeless shelter. I've been taking prednisone for 7 days (5mg tablets 4 times a day) I started with a chest infection, took two lots of antibiotics which helped a little then I was moved onto prednisone (I have asthma and inhalers weren't working), I'm guessing the prednisone is reducing the inflammation? I have been on Prednisone for 4 days so far. 6 the first day, 5 the second, 4 the third and supposed to be 3 today. However, I only took 2 doses today before I realized that I accidentally threw the prescription out. Do I need to call the Pharmacy to get the last two days worth or will I go into withdrawal?
