I am 29 and took 2 days of a 3 day nitrofur macr prescription. I woke up with severe pain (muscle and joint pain) in my legs from the bottom of my feet to my hips. The pharmacist told me to stop taking the meds...my question is, how long might i continue feeling this effect? it has been over 36 hours since my last dose. I started predizone 20 mg yesterday. Took 3 tabs in the early a m . Directions say 3 tabs for 3 days, then 2 tabs for 4 days ,then 1 tab for 4 days. Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops. I took my first dosage this morning about 10 o'clock, my mom called me to ask me how I was doing at around 1 I noticed I was extremely sassy and agitated talking to her but aft that was over things went back to normal. I was recently put on a high dosage (50mg) of Prednisone a day. I was to stay on this dosage for three days, then cut it in half for three days, and then repeat until I was, by the fifteenth day, completely off the medication. Unfortunately, when my doctor prescribed me Prednisone, she momentarily forgot about psych history. On the fifth day of me taking Prednisone, I had a psychosis episode, and came to the realisation that my chaotic moods, and the sudden extreme bouts of depression and lack of concentration, had been a side effect of the medication.
