Are you supposed to take a water pill (furosemide 40mg) with Pot Chlor ??

No, the potassium chloride can be prescribed by itself, if your potassium level has tested low. It is just a nutritional supplement and does not require a diuretic to work. Since it's very potent, its most common side effect is nausea and stomach pain.

The reason it is often prescribed at the same time as a water pill/diuretic is due to the fact that many of them cause potassium loss, which can be very dangerous, so some people need to take them to keep their potassium levels up.
