Pm Drs License Supended Left Without Any Pain Meds What Can I Do
(Newest replies first)

My pain Drs. license has been suspended. I am now left without any refill or Dr. to go too. No one was notified by the office that this had occurred. People are now left in pain and going through terrible withdrawls. I do not know what to do. I do not have a primary care Dr. and am now out of meds. Can someone pls. help give advice. I am very upset that nothing was done by my Dr. to inform patients that he was no longer able to provide care and left to find out on their app. day that this had happened.

Hi I went through similar situation. Call your insurance company and they will provide you with another pain management dr. I had to just deal with the pain until I got in to see a new dr but they will find you a whole list of drs so just call every one of them until you find one to get you in the soonest. Good luck. Once you are a pm patient you don't need a primary dr your insurance will help you from there.
Call the AMA in your area. They should be able to give you an extensive list of Dr's. Or Google Pain specialist on the internet. Reputable local Dr's will probably already know of your Dr's fate and should offer to help by either taking you on, or will recommend someone. As a last resort, check yourself into a drug rehab where you can get medication such as Suboxone to eliminate the withdrawals. This will give you time to find a new Dr without being sick. Please don't resort to buying drugs on the street or the internet.
SORRY. To hear that what state you in
I hope you had refills on yr pain meds . I havee lost five doctors that way Louisiana :(
Hi Jackson,
I'm sorry to hear about what has happened with your doctor. I haven't personally experienced this before, so my only advice (which may seem obvious) would be to file a complaint with the better business bureau or speak with a lawyer about any legal action that might be able to be taken since, in my mind, what they have done is very unethical. In regard to your pain management, my only other recommendation would be to look into alternative therapies such as acupuncture and things of that nature.
Does anyone else have any advice or information to add regarding this issue?
