Will physical medicine doctors likely prescribe pain medication?

what is the difference between a physical medicine doctor and a pain management doctor? could my physical medicine doctor refer me to a pain management doctor?
Hello, Allen! How are you?
If you require pain medications on a long-term ongoing basis, then due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist.
Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone?
