Phentermine Anyone Have Strange Side Effects? (Page 2)
UpdatedI just started taking this medicine for weight loss. I am having hot flashes and cold chills, terrible headache and a tingly head. I feel awful. Has anybody taken this and had the same reaction? If so did it pass after a few days? Gotta say this...I am not ever hungry! Like to hear from anyone that has taken this med. Thanks :)
Hi I am from the previous post I forgot.to mention I am taking topiramate for migrains 25mg with it and I guess those 2 combine are curently the ingredients of the 1st FDA approved weight loss pill Quenx I think that's how.you spell it was on DR OZ the silver bullet pill it is a lesser dose of each so side.effects aren't as bad but results are just as amazing we are currently in middle of 3rd month on it and husband has lost 41lbs and I have lost 36lbs all the symptoms have gone except insomnia still struggling with that and dry mouth but well worth it dir the results ;) good
luck:)
I started taking the 37.5 dose of Phentermine a week ago. I went to see a weight loss specialist and he wrote the prescription. He said for the first few days or as long as you have to, to get used to the drug, take half a pill once a day on an empty stomach. He say to take it exactly 2 hours after eating breakfast. Well initially for the first 3 or 4 days I was fine. I'm not entirely sure how many pound I've lost because my scale at home would say one thing and the scale the gym another. But I always weigh first thing in the morning after using the bathroom. Well on 5th and 6th day, I noticed that my heart would beat really fast and I would be out of breath doing simple things like walking around, and I never had this problem before, even when I wasn't taking the drug. I was in the shower one night and I was soo weak that I almost passed out. I thought I was getting sick, because I heard myself wheezing and I couldn't stop coughing but its a side effects. In my personal opinion this drug is dangerous. And I'm not going to continue to ignore all the effects the drug has because I like the results I get while I'm on it. I have completely stopped taking since, I almost had to go to the hospital. I don't ever want to feel like that again.
Hey guys! I jst started taking phentermine today ann ive been having. Alot of chills and a headache is it normal? I do not feel so good. Please some one answer me. Thanks :)
IS phentermine 37.5 present in Delhi, India . I want to buy it please help
I just started Phen yesterday, I took it ten years ago with good results but came down with thyroid issues three years ago and gained weight due to that. Trying Phen again and this is day two. Hot and cold flashes, cold hands and feet as well as headache and insomnia. Restless energy with anxiety but waiting a few days to see if I adjust which most people do. How is everyone doing that started it this month?
I just started taking the 37.5mg today and I'm already irritable. Is that normal and how long should I expect irritability to last? I'm looking forward to getting this weight off tho bc I've got about 40lbs to go!
I started taking Phentermine (37.5mg) on Aug 7th. By August 17th I felt so horrible I quit taking it. My heart was racing and I just felt generally bad all over. Talked with my doctor about it and he asked me to resume the medication and we'd touch base in two weeks. So, reluctantly, I started taking them again on Oct 3rd and haven't missed a pill yet. To date, I've lost 24 pounds. I am pleased that the ill feelings never came back. The dry mouth is constant. I always have a glass of water with me while I'm home. I work from home, so that's pretty much all the time. I've experienced any headaches, but I do keep hydrated. I also get these smells and tastes, seemingly phantom. Very strange smell too. Nothing I've smelt before. It's annoying, but easy enough to cope with.
The problem I'm MOST concerned with is erectile dysfunction that seems to have joined the party. I've heard it happens, and that "your body will adapt and function will return". I read in earlier comments about seaman leakage, I haven't seen that, hope it's not in my future. Also saw a mention of impotence, but no clue as to how long before I can start to hope to get past this. Because this will be a deal breaker. So, anyone?
I got over the crappy feeling in a week the only symptoms that stayed was dry mouth and not falling esleep I was on it Feb 2012 to July 2012 and lost 60 pounds I took 3 months off and 10 pounds came back and I started up again a week ago no symptoms this time except energy seems to wore off quicker in the day then last time which is good a
nd bad good cause no insomnia but bad cause I am soooo tired at night but wake up refreshed so all in all no complaints :)
I forgot to mention below my husband also was on it with me in the same time he lost 61 lbs also but he had the chills and always being cold insomnia and for men slight erectile disfunction as after once he was done not by choice since we started back those symptoms haven't returned thank god and he feels wonderful lots of energy no joint pain but he is wired at night cause he works late shift so it will take time to adjust to schedule and the dry mouth and bad breath from that sucks a lil good luck everyone it is working for us hope it does for you I am 27 from my end of the yr goal I set that's with 3 month break off and my hubby is 30 lbs from his end of the yr goal total he has lost 100lbs total in his journey and me 70 it works for sure
:):):):):)
So here's an update on the erectile dysfunction I experienced with Phentermine.
I decided it was time to know the truth. So on October 23rd I stopped taking the Phentermine. That was a Tuesday; on Saturday morning, to my delight, I had morning "wood". Hadn't seen that in some time. However, that was a lone event, as it hasn't happened again. There was still hyper-sensitivity, but for the most part the condition was unchanged. I was unable to get an erection by any means other than some direct, and continued, manual stimulation. When I quit, so did it. My fears were gaining on me. But on Monday things seemed different. Very difficult to qualify that statement, but some of the old methods, reading, movies, etc. were having an effect. On Tuesday, the 8th day after stopping the Phentermine, things seemed fully recovered. Without making this an entry that may belong on a different site, let's just say the "Ops Check" later that evening proved successful.
I hope this gives the next guy a little relief from the terror of thinking you may never get that back. I did find one site that stated once you have ED as a result of Phentermine, it's permanent. At least in my case, that statement is false.
I started phentermine time release 6 days ago and having horrible side effects, hot, feel flu like, lethargic.no increased energy at all. increase in bp and pulse. Dr started me on topamax as well but i can't handle side effects. Seriously thinkihng of stopping phentermine.. insomnia, crying spells, irritability. i took the tablet form 3 years ago and broke it in half, so maybe this time release is too much.. calling dr tomorrow... no fun.. i wanted it to work so bad.. appetite decreased drastically.. it's just the other side effects. 3 am and can't sleep..
5 days for me.. and i am VERY irritable, moody.. crying spells.. hate that !
I took it for 6 months about a year ago and I lost 25 lbs. my anxiety got worse and I got the shakes. The energy was awesome but it's definitly hard to sleep. I started back up Friday and I'm still feeling like I'm speeding. Hopefully it stops after the first week like the last time. Any tips to help with the side effects?
Has anyone had any bowel problems while on this pill?
This is my second time taking phentermine and I have been having bad contipation. I drink Lots of water and probiotics but nothing works unless I take a stool softener.
Yea.... Since the medication acts like dieuretic, I expect that's one of the things you can count on. I have a glass of water all the time and I still have that problem as well.
Well I guess if I want to keep losing weight I should bite the bullet and increase inventory on dieters tea to help me with my little problem :-)
Ive taken this drug for over 3 years. It does make you loose weight but drinking water is ESSENTIAL for the weight loss and your health. I found my good amount was a liter and a half per day...alot of water I know but after some research I found that without alot of water, toxins build up from the weight being burned off and cant be flushed out of the body properly...which causes all those nasty physical side effects like hot/cold sweats, irritablity, nausea...etc etc... I noticed my period cramps were horrible when on this drug vs not taking it. Also for anyone thinking about stopping this drug...you must come down easy! half a pill, then every other day, drag it out over 2 week period or your body goes into shock and you will feel crappy. Quitting cold turkey also makes it harder for the drug to start working again if you decide to resume taking it in the future. I hope Ive helped!
Not good to take. Had similar experiences. Does not disappear til you stop taking.
Do you want to sell them. I've had great results. {editor's note: we do not allow the buying or selling of products through our discussion threads}
This is for Peter's post dated 10/23/12: I, too, am having a phantom smell! Background: I began the Phen (15mg) in late October and had headaches for the first few days, which subsided, and the consistent dry mouth (as has everyone, so that's normal) with no other side effects, and have been overall happy and successful with the weight loss results, but when my doctor switched me to the 37.5mg pill on 12/05/12 (I split it in half and take two 18.75mg doses a day), 4 days into it, I started smelling "something." I was getting into my truck in a parking lot and this smell hit me, strong and hard. I thought maybe someone had smoked a cigarette next to my parked vehicle and threw it down close to my truck (you know how that nasty smell creeps into things?) but it's been 4 days now and I still smell it! It smells like cigarette smoke or cigarette ash (YUCK!)—it's hard to describe/explain. It gets stronger at times, and seems to be weaker in the mornings. It has to be the change in the Phen; nothing else is different. It's the weirdest thing. Anyone else out there experiencing this? And for everyone taking the 37.5mg dose w/bad effects: my doctor advised me NEVER to take that in one dose as it will be too strong—try cutting them in half and taking 18.75mg 2x/day
