Pharmacy Is Making Me Wait For My Suboxone

I was just switched from subutex to suboxone this month without notice and WOW suboxone is so much more expensive! Anyway, when I went to get my script filled I could only afford to get a few bcuz of the price. I went back the nxt day and got a few more while I had the money. Well the next time I went the pharmacist told me that it was "new" policy that I have to fill the rest all at once instead of a few at a time. I told them about my new situation and being switched over from subutex and how i was not prepared for how expensive suboxone was gonna be and they let me fill half of what i had left to get and I told them I would get the rest friday when I got paid. Well I was talking to my mother about it and she said she would give me the rest of the money to get the rest the next day so the pharmacy didnt have to wait since they wanted to make up these "new" rules and act like that. So I go the next day to get the rest of my meds and they say they wont give them to me till friday bcuz thats when I said I got paid. First off I just told them that so they wouldnt make me fill all at once cuz i couldnt afford it. And the ones i did fill aren't gonna last till friday. I know why they are doing that bcuz they think i came up with the rest of the money by selling them. First off its not their place to judge me and think that im selling them just bcuz i couldnt afford to get them all at once. And last time i checked its my doctors concern if im selling them not theirs. Its their job to fill them n move on. I've been on subs for 2 yrs and get a random pill count every month and ive passed every time so the pharmacist can shove the idea im selling them u know where. But anyway to the point, is this against the law? Sounds like racial profiling to me. Anything I can do about this? If i wait till friday ill be out of meds and thats just nonsense.

Unfortunately, the pharmacy does have the right to refuse to fill, at any time they suspect suspicious behavior. I'm sorry, but that's how it is and there's really nothing you can do about it.

The only option you have is to take your business and money elsewhere.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction. It carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

Now, if they allowed someone to get away with it and not you, or if they'd refuse to fill them because you were African-American, Latino or etc., then that would be discrimination.

Did you try speaking to the pharmacy manager?

Perhaps he'll let you get a few more to last until Friday, then pick up the rest. Especially if you have all the money now and pay upfront.
