Pharmacist Refusing To Fill My Script Of Suboxone. What Do I Do???
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I wet to my doc 7 days early because of running out early. I took my new script to pharmacy and said, this is early so I won't be using insurance. My doc said you can call him if necessary. Well no one wanted to. They filled two per day for three days. On the third day I asked to fill the rest on insurance for the next day. I was one day early. When I called the next morning to have my daily two filled the pharmacy manager said no we won't be filling it for another 5 days. Go to the ER for your withdrawals but don't come here because I won't give it to you. Has this happened to anyone else????
What pharmacies "don't want you to know", is that by LAW they have to Accept & fill Any Original RX they receive (new patient or not). So have your "new RX" each month sent to CVS, etc. (of your choosing). Pharmacies can only DENY ongoing/refill(s) scripts.
Re: Jaime (# 2)
Where do you live??
Re: Priscilla (# 5)
Where i live I have gotten mine filled early but i also only pay cash. I just moved about 2 hrs away and i am have a horrible time getting my meds filled. I have to drive 2 hrs just to get mt meds.
Re: circuapunk (# 230)
Yes...decade+ of out patient treatment (successful)...now my pharmacist wants to monitor me? Pathetic. How many people off top of our head can we say OD or have lose their lively hoods & loved ones due to devastating relapses on street drugs?
Re: Miss pissed (# 249)
First_ I almost went with with same user name! Second_ I know!!! I can't believe I used to tell people how kind they were at CVS. Third_we are treated awful, for trying to be productive citizens, legally obtaining a treatment option.
Re: Mr Straight up (# 250)
Oh, l lock up. Been on maintenance for years. Got off methadone last year. MMT really helped me manage my medication. I'm not freaking. Just wondering why big pharma! Why?
Re: Jaime (# 4)
Maybe if you locked up your s*** like I do with my meds you wouldn’t have this issue.
CVS used to be kind in S. Florida, I don't know what's happening?..now I have to worry about the date on the script? What's happening to this country.
Re: SamIAm (# 247)
I think the "18 month old" was a fairy tale...Why would a baby pick up medication and throw them in the bin? A baby would pick it up, look at it, try and chew or dribble all over it, then drop it on the floor and toddle away.....if you read back to when that message was posted (a while ago now) a lot of people didn't buy her story and questioned it.
Re: Jaime (# 4)
so your 18 month old baby had access to a controlled substance? That's not very good.
Re: Verwon (# 3)
Yeah like it is a killer narcotic. As usual, the pharmacist and the local and state have these stupid idiotic laws. Buprenorphine used to be a class V narcotic.
Your pharmacist can only fill it two days early, at their discretion, they dont have to do it if they dont want to. Yes there is something your dr can do. He can fill out a form called a TAR which explains why you need the medication early, and if the insurance oks that, which they usually do, your pharmacist will have to fill it. Because its a controlled substance you can only pick it up two days early, and only if the pharmacist is a decent person who will go ahead and do it for you, they dont have to.
I don't think anyone believed her story....it's as shonky as "the dog ate my homework"....she is obviously still in that using mindset and in my opinion, that's the best part of being clean, is not having to constantly think up lies and bullsh*t to spin to people, whether it be your family, doctors or your pharmacist.
Well for one bro. Or sis....I would advise you not leaving them anywhere a damn kid can get to em. Thankfully it wasn't the tablets because if your kids away from you long enough to chuck your rx, then they could have eaten two, and you'd have a dead kid. So be more responsible. No seriously I'm not talking down to you. But come on. My kid threw em away? That's as good as they fell in the toilet. I'd bet money you're the type who walks into a pharmacy and says, can I cash this script here? It ain't a damn scratch ticket people. You FILL a prescription. Not cash a script in. Damn, I'm on subs. My brother, father and I own a pharmacy. Addiction doesn't discriminate. But you really made yourself look stupid even letting the Dr know you'd leave a child alone in a room with access to f'ing suboxone. Right there he's gonna look at you like WHAT??? So from a pharmacy owners point of view, go to the police station. Report the medicine gone, then take the police report to the Dr. He'll have no problem. You take a copy of the report to the pharmacy with you and they'll help you out. Otherwise it's probably don't bother even trying because pharmacists suck and think they're better than everyone. Your already judged by them the moment you fill an rx for subs.
This is the most honest post I've read! Good for you and you betcha it gives you your life back. Screw every ***** or judgmental hypocrite out there. It's just sad that people have to be humiliated and almost stripped of any dignity just to get through this life! I say it's too bad liquor isn't data based controlled...more people may think twice before high browing people.
It took me about three months of picking up daily and doing twice weekly urine anaylsis before my clinic would let me go on to monthly pick-up's...SO worth it though as I get to pick up at a chemist, they are lovely, speak to me like a human being and ask about my kids, job, life in general. I find if you act like a junkie, carrying on and making a scene, then you will get treated like a junkie...I know people here who are still using, so thats why they will NEVER stop having to pick up daily, yet they whinge as if it;s the system that's got the problem....so ungrateful and stupid. Still living like drug addicts, they should be booted off the system if they are not providing clean urines. Just my opinion though. I truly believe Suvboxone saved my life, so I am not going to jeapordise that by still using drugs.
I don't think they'll run out because they now have a lot of people who lives have been saved. But I do worry that some States are going to run out . my place has people there who don't take them.. Hum! Also who abuse them, unfortunately.
What you are doing is how I STOPPED my first and only time. Sucks I relapsed after 89 days. But I do now take less, stash the rest and switch up the next month. Not many people where I'm at get monthly, you have to do so much before that. I made it! Now going to start coming down.
I believe I need to get off of them also. The state controls your dosage and I do not like anything having control over me, but they have saved my life! I took them at first for opiate withdrawal and then pain. I have been on them for around 8 yrs. or so.
Hey there, Oh me too, have been off for 7 years and tried many times to detox but it's just too hard....WAY harder than coming off opiates, that takes a week or two. I have heard of withdrawals from Suboxone lasting a year....obviously not the hard core symptoms but still just feeling yucky. This stuff saved my life too. I don't even drink, smoke or do anything anymore and I truly believe I have Suboxone to thank for this, however I would love to be off it. I just can't imagine myself as a 60 or 70 year old being on it...I'm 42 now...but can't see myself coming off it anytime soon either. Best of luck to you. By the way I am in Australia and from what I have heard we have it pretty good here, I pick up monthly (28 days worth) and I only pay $25. I have heard it's much more expensive in US??
The expiration is a year but honestly it is probably years before it would lose even some of it's potency if any if stored in a cool dry place air sealed in its original packaging. But smart idea to rotate and stock pile. The pharmaceutical companies I honestly don't believe will ever run short on the ingredients for fear of the loss of Revenue. However due to the growing number of people that are on it the day will most definitely come where the government and the FDA start making it difficult to get just like they did with pain medication. I personally have been on it for probably 3 or 4 years and am desperate to get off of it but too scared to attempt it mainly because I truly believe it saved my life. Best of luck.
