Pharmacies In Bonita Springs And Naples Not Filling Oxycodone Or Oxycontin

I am a 50 year old woman in severe pain due to a degenerative disc disease, something I was born with and has progressed to the point to where I am unable to stand, walk or sit for very long without medication. I recently was accepted by the Social Security dept. as a disabled woman due to severe pain. My Dr. Has prescribed oxycodone 30 mg 4 times a day for break through pain and OxyContin 80 mg. 3 times a day for long acting pain. The medications help but the fear of my future haunts me every minute of the day. Every month I attempt to get my prescriptions filled. most months I go to 6-8 pharmacies, with them all telling me No, the dose is too high I'm not comfortable filling that or, we just don't carry that drug. 2 months ago I was placed on Walgreens "Good Faith Policy act" and was told that I could NEVER receive narcotics from any WALLGREENS in the country. I now have 2 weeks left of OxyContin 80 mg which I will take until they are finished then I have no choice but to die... The pain in my back is so severe that I could not go on without something and seeing that that something will be depleted soon, I have decided to take matters into my own hands and go to a more peaceful place. I am not afraid to die, but I can not live in this excruciating pain. The only pharmacy that filled my prescriptions black listed me because I went to my usual pharmacy whom did not have the meds on hand so on my way home I went to walgreens on Livingston and Bonita beach road where I was told the dreadful news, "you are on our Good faith policy list and you will never be able to get narcotics from us". This was told to me in the drive through without asking questions except for saying "I see you tried to get your prescriptions from another Walgreens just minutes ago". I have been given drug panels every month by my pain management Dr. Fuchs. He is a kind Dr. I have had many inj's. all through out my spine that eases the pain temporarily. Surgery is not recommend due to the entire spine being afflicted. I hope my death will help some of you. Those of us that are in severe pain are being treated as junkies. Someone needs to stand up for us. How many more need to die for the government to change laws for us who need help. Good luck to you all.

Well if you'd rather be in pain than go through that roller coaster again I can assure you that you will also be going through a terrible withdraw from being on such high doses of the most powerful pain medication there is. (dope sick)
If you have your mind made up. Please video tape it at the pharmacy. So you may get some recognition from your death. And maybe shed light on the problems junkies have caused legit patients. Please reconsider taking your life. PLEASE. Let the pharmacy know that you are contemplating this act. And ask them for help.
I've had the mom n pops tell me they don't even carry klonopin in Fl year 2014-2015, but a fellow pain patient tells me this same mom n pops that turned me away filled her scrip with cash only.. interesting, they got meds off the street in fl, I tell u that much. They did a great job. Now they need to realize that we are being given drug panels and not getting 3 times a day of er meds. My pm don't play no crap here in Fl. They do an arrest inquiry... idk if they will prescribe if you have drug crimes...
Yes there is a link on the internet that the pharmacy has to follow if it's over 90 a month. xanax I've not had a problem filling. I've been turned down by one Walgreens who said they didn't have it. I've had my 60 morphine dropped from 2 a day from 3 a day, by law here in Fl. Dr. Wont raise my dose of morphine er. I take percocet 10/325 for breakthrough. I also take lyrica and flexeril. I fill all together. I think more than 4 breakthroughs a day they re asking questions. Or turning u away. Publix in a small community I love has no problem filling they usually have it and fill it because I live within 5 miles they also factor in if I'm filling other things to help the pain. So its a lot about the numbers. In Fl I could not get soma at all, and PM cannot prescribe xanax, primary or psyche has to write and I was on 4 a day now down to 3 a day. I do chiropractic therapy, not as often as I wished I could get there, but since moving to Fl I've had my meds cut. Walgreens is very strict, even after meeting all criteria after 6 months they do mot want to fill for ppl. I see a lot of ppl have been turned away. It horrified me, idk if I'm lucky I believe in blessings but I may have to try 5-6 pharmacies at the most but then again I don't get any oxy over 10 so I go to the pharmacies closest to my pm and Walgreens requested to hold it for 24 which I can go with but saying it could be up to 72 hours...then I go closest to home but public and they 9/10 have them. The direct effect of the pill mills down here and a stigma with oxy 30 and dilaudad.
@Verwon, you are pretty correct with you info also u r respectful. I so far have not seen in Fl a Gp who still does pm and writes for my xanax (I have my psychiatric records forwarded to the Dr.s that's y I get my xanax written it being my first disability) anyway one in a million chance that I have this rare thing. Now what I'm concerned and wont know I if I will have problem filling theses meds without it being written by pain management. Dr. Said let me know and he will speak to the pharmacist and refer me out to pm,but until then hopefully that would be suffice to fill a rx written by a g.p..also am on social security deemed disabled by then have MRI s xrays current..to help me function with my condition and at times I feel undermedicated but I have to have self discipline...Dont get me wrong its not all peaches n cream for me. If you need help for a cold or flu the hospitals treat u very poorly according to my meds I'm on.
I know when I go to er I'm not accepting nor filling any prescription..that's not what I go for. I've been treated very badly by the er's in Fl.
You are very welcome and I am so very glad that you were able to get your prescriptions filled.
It's a shame that so many people have to deal with these hassles, when they are just in legitimate need of pain relief.
Are there any other questions or concerns?
Today I got my meds. Filled. My pharmacist has been on vacation for 2weeks. He has worked with me trying to get me off of Walgreens Black list, calling his manager and legal department, but no other pharmacist would fill my prescriptions until today. Today I walked in and handed my folded up prescriptions to a different pharmacist that works with my regular pharmist. I asked if he would please fill these for me and he did. I am so thankful, so very thankful. It's amazing how a person like me goes from being so seriously depressed to feeling so grateful and happy. The last 2 weeks I have gone through so many emotions. I know I will still have problems in the future if I continue with OxyContin and oxycodone so I am going to work with my Dr. And try to come up with a different regimen. I would rather be in pain than go through this roller coaster again so perhaps I will try Fentnyl patch and Percocet. I was on Fentnyl 150mic. With oxycodone 30 mg. in the past that worked but because of needing to change the patch every 2 days instead of 3 red flags were raised, so maybe I can tolerate 100mic. And change them every 3 days and just spend the 3rd day in bed. Thank you all for your concern.
I feel for you Kimberly as I was also illegally put on that Walgreens "good faith garbage list as well" It is such a load of crap and a blatant violation of our ADA rights. Why were we not aloud to see this report, sign it, and either agree & or disagree with their erroneous findings especially if they sent a copy to the DEA as well. I recommend looking into that situation because I truly believe they are not following protocol and committing a crime. Also, I weened off a good amount of medication over this past year, I was on 180 mg roxycodone a day and brought it down to 110mg it just seems that you are on alot and I am a big guy. I know it none of my business, but i can assure you that is why you are getting turned down everywhere. I would try to find a mom and pop type smaller non corporate crap pharmacy and with your prescriptions, I would ask your doctor to write you some ibuprofen 800mg and maybe a muscle relaxer. That way you are not just getting opiates plus it looks more attractive then just trying to get the opiates filled.
Thank yo so much for your concern. I'm doing much better today. I have been on Fentnyl patch 150mic. For a year or so, Butt it needed to be changed every 2 days (another red flag) SAms Club told me they no longer dispense this medication unless I had a diagnosis of cancer, which I don't. I have been in pain for so long and have tried so many medications in my lifetime. I don't like OxyContin at all but it does work for me but only if I take it 3 times a day. The last week I have had very little of both the OxyContin and oxycodone and am suffering but I do think I could live with lower doses. I am going to meet with a Pharmacist tomorrow to see if we can get this resolved. I feel confident that something good will come from all this. Thank you for listening. I surely didn't mean to scare anyone.
Hello, Kimberly! I am very, very sorry about what you're going through.
Please, don't kill yourself. There are solutions, you just need to talk to your doctor.
From the sounds of things, it seems you might do better with something such as the Fentanyl patch. It is a very potent narcotic in a time released patch that you change once every 3 days. They often give far better pain control than the pills and wouldn't exceed the prescribing amount guidelines.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
The main issue with your current regimen is that the 80mg Oxycontin was prescribed 3 times a day, when it's just supposed to be taken twice. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, any prescriptions exceeding that must be questioned.
But life is beautiful and definitely worth living. Your doctor can help you with both the pain and your depressed state of mind, so I strongly urge you to talk to them and be honest.
These medications may actually be worsening your state of mind, to a point, so you might need assistance for awhile.
Has the pharmacy contacted your doctor?
