Percocet Vs Tramacet (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Hi. I'd like information comparing Percocet (Oxycodone / Acetaminophen) and Tramacet (Tramadol hydrochloride / Acetaminophen). Is Percocet a stronger more powerful pain killer than Tramacet? If so, by how much? If you have been taking Percocet are you likely to get the same effect from Tramacet? Is there a chart somewhere that compares or ranks all pain killers comparatively? If so please tell me where. Thanks - good health to you all

God bless you from a medical point of view YOU ARE THE IDEAL COMPLIANT PAIN PATIENT. So few are able to control their usage when a rx like hydromorphone ( dilaudid ) is available. I only wish I had the intestinal fortitude and pain threshold to have accomplished a long term orthopedic condition that required multiple surgical interventions. Having a genetic predisposition for addiction certainly didn't help my condition. Continued good health to you.

And believe you me.....Tramadol IS NOT, OR EVEN CLOSE TO BEING A "NARCOTIC"....it is pretty much WORTHLESS at being a pain reliever of any kind! You would be MUCH better off just buying something OTC....

For any of your that have just started on tramadol I really sugest looking up the addictive side. The doctors will tell you that it is not addictive as it is a synthetic opiod. DO NOT BELIEVE IT!!!! Ihave been on them for two years. My pain has actually been finally relieved by surgery. I have stopped taking them now. I was taking 100mg 3x a day. Not super high doses. It managed the pain but stopping now is no picnic.I did wean down to 33 mg 2x a day but it dod not help in stopping. The leg twitches, the abdominal discomfort, the brain skips, and the muscle aches UGH! I have been on percocet for pain that was easy to wean down then stop. The tramadol not so much. Please if you want pain relief but do not want the physical withdrawl discomforts and pain do some research then make your choice.

The days of being treated with opiods that are effective are getting slim. Doctors are protecting themselves by not writing these prescriptions, in case a patient has a problem with it, so alot of us will have to take ineffective meds for some time unless attitudes change.Has anyone had a doc treat them for severe pain with antidepressants sucessfully. My docs give me ones that make me feel like I am going crazy when I am on them.

I have two bulging discs, one of which is compressing the L5 nerve root and severe degenerative disc disease. I have never been one to take any medication if possible but had to with this. I am told that I have a high pain tolerance by my physiotherapist. I take Tramacet when it gets too bad and it is wonderful. I have to eat with it but there is no woozy feeling.. Just no pain. I swear by it.

I have been addicted to Tylenol 1's for 15 years.... 4days ago i quit it cold turkey....I have vomitted had diarrea; and really bad headachesMy dr prescribed me tramadol the other day for my endometriosis....he said It isnt addictive,,,,I am just wondering if I am defeating the purpose by taking these???? sure hope not these last 4 days haven't been fun!!!!!

my brother recently had an aka and has been placed on 2 tramacet 3 x a day, which is not giving him any relief, heis even unble to sleep at night , even with the pain medication he is given, do yoy think tramacet is enough for his pain at this early stage.

My sister is an AKA and is on GABAPENTIN and Cymbalta and is getting 75-80% relief of her phantom pain. As phantom pain is 'NERVE' pain .. tramacet isn't going to work very well.

I so feel you there. My Dr. did the same to me. I live everyday w/ pain. I'm miserable because of it and cannot be active and fun w/ my son most times. Im older but had pain since your age. I'm 30 - And thinking that I am this young ans live w/ pain everyday makes my future seem bleak at best. I don't know what to do. The pain is killing my quality of llife. It's my body and my decision I hate how Doctor's play GOD w/ there little script pads. I argue w/ him all the time. All I am asking for is Percocet w/ him monitoring the amount I can get per month. Instead I told him he is forcing me to go self medicate w/ expensive and far stronger and more addictive pain killers. I used to be proud of Canada's free HealthCare but now I realize that the Doctors are not working for the patients but for the Government. And this is not okay! Something needs to be done.

You must have mental issues like depression or Bi-Polar though. I have not had that effect at all w/ Tramacet. I find it's useless it does nothing for pain and mentally did nothing to me. I have depression and taking Paxil for it but I find that for pain I would be better off w/Tylenol 1 then Tramacet. It is useless but I guess it's different for everybody.

I'm curious; why ppl compare Percocet to Tramacet. I believe doctors r putting everyone on Tramacet.

I've used both n they r totally different. I will never take either.

FYI any time you go from usage of Percocet to something less strong you will have those issues. You have to go completely off the Percocet for 2 weeks before knowing if tramacet works for you I know as my mom was on Percocet and ended up with withdrawal symptoms after a month of use

Percoset is NOT codeine. Please don't comment unless you're educated. Percoset is 5 mg of Oxycodone and 325 mg of Acetaminophen. Oxycodone is the active ingredient in OxyContin & OxyNEO as well, they're the SR forms. I repeat, Percoset is OXYCODONE NOT CODEINE. It drives me insane when people are misinformed on this because patients that are allergic to codeine will refuse Percoset.

Tramadol does not contain acetaminophen! Tramacet has 325 MG of acetaminophen

tramacet is a mix of tramadol and acetaminophen. neither of them are opiates. so no its not strong. i can take five or six of them and feel nothing. and i dont do a lot of opiates. theyre actually pretty weak. any narcotic will be stronger.

i have been taking Tramacet for almost two years now i dicided to give it up becouse it does not have much affect like the first time, and it is very addictive it has bad withdrowal like shaking and evry thing.
