will these cause one to fail a drug test...my gf gave me these and told me they were antibiotics but then when i went to my dentist and told him i was already taking an antibiotic he told me they were pain pills....I stopped taking them and he gave me penicillin... ## Will what cause you to fail a drug screen? i had very bad reaction to this drug always been okay with antibiotics eg penicillin ## Cephalexin is an antibiotic and it is fairly common for people to be able to use several, then suddenly have a bad reaction to one. Have you made sure that the fact that you have a problem with it is listed in your medical records and listed with your pharmacy? ## wouldnt have thought of that ty verwon ## I was given the same drug by a dentist now have c.difficile. It causes severe diarrhea & if you google it you'll be amazed at all the people who've had the same problems. It's one scary drug. If I would've known then what I know now I wouldn't have ever taken it, nor will I ever take again! It's dangerous!

Can I take 250 mg of Penicillin V every 6 hours for 20 days for a gum infection? ## Have you consulted your doctor, or dentist? The usual dose for this type of infection is 500mgs every 6 hours, for about 10 days. The lower dose may not be an effective amount, if the infection is very severe.
