I got put on Paxil for anxiety and depression. Started off on 20 mg but didn't notice a difference. By the time it was over I was taking 40 mg a day and my depression did not get better. I stopped taking them because I got to the point where I wanted to put a gun to my head. So I switched doctors and got put on Xanax and Prystic and I've felt great every since. Thanks Paxil for almost making me make a big mistake. And thanks to my former doctor that just keep upping the dosage and telling me that I just have to give it time.

The FDA does provide a warning that most psychiatric medications can cause an increase in suicidal thoughts, in some people that take them. This warning should be included in your patient advisory leaflet.

What type of doctor were you seeing that prescribed it?
Have you experienced any side effects from the Pristiq, or Xanax? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. The Xanax also carries a risk of being habit forming.
