Patient Assistance - Heretohelpprogram - Prescription Paper

Updated

In case no one knows about it there is a suboxone patient assistance program that will give you free meds (up to 24mg/day). It's not real public - but you can find info at heretohelpprogram.com

Docs who are qualified to script subs can have up to three patients on it at any one time, thing is they don't make it easy. you got to get your doctor's fax line and have the company fax the papers directly to your docs office and if he has a cool secretary - have her make an extra set for the doc to have on hand so he doesn't have to jump through hoops to help hid patients and have her make a copy or two for you so that you can give them to your friends who are struggling and the can take them to their docs in person - no fax number needed.

There's an income requirement - but if you're a junkie just getting back on your feet, doubt you're driving a porsche.

For anyone without insurance - there is a patient assistance program, if you qualify (your household income has to be less than 250% of the poverty level of the country and you have to provide tax returns to prove it. If you are accepted - and any doctor that is qualified to script bupe's (of either kind) is allowed to have 3 patients in the program at one time. Admittance gives you FREE medication for 1 year.

What you need to do is
- Get you doctor's fax number.
- Call 888-898-4818 and request that the forms for admittance be faxed to your doctor.
- Have you doctor fill out the forms and then gather the required financial documentation and fax it to the number provided (you can either have your doctor fax it or you can do it yourself).
- You will receive determination in less than 10 days on whether or not you qualify.

Many doctors don't even know about this program, but every doctor can up to 3 patients in the program at one time.

Good luck and good bless.

Actually your income does not matter at all when qualifying now.

If you have no insurance/Medicaid coverage you qualify for Here to Help. It will cover your prescription cost for only a year however. Most suboxone programs usually last two years so if at any time you procure health or RX coverage be sure to call and suspend your here to help assistance, in case you lose coverage you will still have coverage for your suboxone.

Another bit of advice, from my experience, is first ask your doctor or his office if they have any openings available. Like stated below, each doctor is allowed 100 patients and only three enrolled in Here to Help. NOW, even if they tell you they are at their assistance maximum call HTH anyway. They will verfiy if they are or not. I paid for my scripts and appt monthly, costing me around $600 a month. The doctor stated he was not sure how many of his patients were enrolled and to ask the receptionist. Did this and was told that they had their three patient max met and would notify me when an opening was available. After months of no direct answer either way I took it upon myself to call HTH myself and BEHOLD I was told my doctor HAD no patients enrolled and I would actually be his first. Good to know lol!

So now I pay nothing but for my appointment. So just verify the info you are given. Then when applying your physician office will have papers to fill out as well as you, have them fax everything, fill out and fax right back. This will expedite the process and you will be covered within a business week. Especially if you make sure to have a specific contact at HTH, just ask they'd extension number and call them directly if they are available. From experience this makes it much easier.....GOOOD LUCK GUYS! !

Go to the suboxone pharmaceutical company's website. They have all kinds of tools to help avoid relapse etc. They have a support group type of deal too, this is actually called Here to Help as well, but is not the same as the patient assistance program and has a different phone number.

one thing i have a problem with is that i was up for the help for a year with the rickett/ program an my doctor had messed up an for got to let me fill out my paper work an then when i ask her about it she told me that they only allow 2 patients i know that is bs.. she messed up an wouldnt admit. i cannot afford my meds an honestly in alabama they took me off the list cause i have medicaid that dont even cover anything the doctors visit or the meds. an as you all know they cost alot. oh an to top it off they wanted me to pay 45.00 to get a no to see if medicaid would pay for it. they are not even medicaid doctors an this year al passed a law that medicaid will not cover any prescription that is not prescribed by a medicaid doctor.. am i the only one who sees something wrong with that

I don't know what kind of Alabama Medicaid you have but I am on Medicaid and it pays for my doctor and my meds. All of it. I get 90 a month and don't even take all of that. I take anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 to 2 a day. Every month I have 30 or so left over. You need to check up on your insurance and your doctor.
