Are there certain foods I should not take with carbo-levo? Should I take it with meals? ## From what I've read, the combination of Carbidopa + Levodopa can be administered with food to reduce the likelihood of nausea; however, it should be noted that using multivitamins or minerals together with levodopa may decrease the effects of your medication. Additionally, a high-protein diet may also reduce its absorption and overall efficacy. That said, it might be best to take this medication by itself or in between meals, to help avoid any chance of it not working as effectively as it should. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Carbidopa + Levodopa Details I hope this helps!

Yellow pill with 5 points to it. Nothing on the back of pill except a line through it like to cut it in half and on the front of the pill there is some sort of imprint but can not tell what it is (it is a very faint imprint) ## Hello! Very sorry about your loss. I can't be certain, without knowing the logo that's on it, but I think you may have found a 0.5mg Requip tablet. There is one that matches this description and it has a very hard to see logo on it. Requip is most commonly used to help treat Parkinson's Disease and RLS. Learn more Requip details here. But as I said, I can't be sure, so this is just a random stab based on your description. The best thing to do would be to just dispose of it. Does anyone else have any ideas on what this might be?

what is the difference? between carbidopa 25/levodopa 100mg tab and carbidopa 25/levodopa 100mg sa tab ## Hello, Dave! How are you? From what you've listed, the second one with the SA would be a time released formulation. The sa stands for sustained action, it's used similarly to ER, SR, XR and others. The first one that has no such designation would be a regular release formulation of the medication. Learn more Sinemet details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I think maybe I could be having trouble because I am using the generic, Have you seen patients that have had similar complaints? Thanks ## Hi, Ginger! Sorry about the problem that you're having. There are always people that have problems with generics, because there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient, when switching from the name brand to the generic. It doesn't affect everyone, but some people are sensitive to any change, or it can occur if you were taking the name brand for a very long time. Learn more Levodopa details here. Itake 1.5mg mirapex 3 times a day,i take 12 sinemet 25/100 through a course of a day i want to know how do i go about getting myself off these 2 meds my life course has changed i dont need them anymore[PARKINSONS DISEASE]. ## Hi, Kevin! To avoid withdrawal and rebound effects, tapering is usually done very, very slowly. The current preferred method is to have the person start to skip doses, or stretch out the time between when they take them. Such as taking them every 10 hours, rather than every 8 and then slowly lengthening the time even further. But this method can take weeks or months. However, you should consult your doctor to see what method is safest for you. Have you consulted your doctor, yet?

Side effects on OD of edpiride ## Hi Andy, I believe another name for this medication is Sulpride or levosulpride. I couldn't find a lot of information about the side effects of overdose, but this is what I have found: "Sulpiride has a relatively low order of acute toxicity. Substantial amounts may cause severe but reversible dystonic crises with torticollis, protrusion of the tongue, and/or trismus. In some cases all the classical symptoms typical of severe Parkinson's Disease may be noted; in others, over-sedation/coma may occur." The generic 50-200 carb/levo seems to not be as effective as sinemet. should I get only sinemet, not generics ## If the sinemet works better I would stay with that. Especially when u are not having good results on the generic. Talk to your doc & request "Dispense As Written" and have script written for sinemet. ## Great advice Tracy! I thought I'd mention that generic medications are allowed (by the FDA) to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients. This factor, along with different inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) could enable you to have a completely different reaction to each medication. Therefore, that may be the cause of the problem you're having with the generic. I've also read that one pill amongst an entire pack/bottle of a gen...
