Pantoprazole 40 Mg

I recieved a prescription for Pantoprazole Sodium DR 40mg. But my pill looks completely different from what I've had in the past and is different from the descriptions I can find on what it should look like. I have a white, oval tablet with "97" imprinted on one side. The imprints vary between red or black in the same bottle. What do I have in my hands? Any help is appreciated.

How did you look for it, did you just do a search for what Pantroprazole should look like, or did you search for that imprint?

The imprint is what enables a pill to be identified. If you just search for examples of what it should look like, you'll not likely have much luck, since this is a generic medication and most sites don't list all possible options.

It is the correct medication, this does contain 40mgs of Pantoprazole in a controlled release formulation, the company used a 96 on their 20mg one.

There is no rule that says all of their imprints have to be the exact same color and it can vary depending on the method being used in the manufacturing facility, so that's really nothing to be concerned about.
