Pain Doctors New Orleans
Updatedhey everybody. A pain management patient. And I am trying to find a new doctor right now I am trying to find a doctor hopefully in the West Bank area and who is a generous Dr. And compassionate. I have seen many doctors over the past 5 years and I take very very large amounts of narcotics because of my incredibly severe injuries to my spine a Mississippi River barge accident. I was told by the people at Tulane Hospital I was the absolute worst they have ever seen. So yeah.. I need to find a new doctor right now who can prescribe me medicine that I need to be on. Specifically looking for a doctor who not only would take my insurance, but who is also prescribed me my dilaudid IV medicine that I can take home from the pharmacy.any kind of help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, Jeffrey! How are you?
Why can't you continue with your current doctor?
The problem is that no doctor is just going to be able to be generous, so to speak. There are regulations restricting how much of anything they can prescribe, unless someone has a late stage terminal illness, such as cancer.
And of course there is no way to know what a new doctor will or will not prescribe.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Hi again. Ok now to answer your question. First off.. The reason I wanna change doctors is cause the doctor I see now doesn't give me enough of the medication that I need. You see.. I have a gene mutation that makes me highly resistant or even IMMUNE to certain medicines. Even something as powerful as Fentanyl, doesn't have that powerful of a kick with me as it does everyone else.
Right now I am taking 5 of the 8th Dilaudid pills for my breakthrough pain. Well.. I checked with my insurance company and they will cover up to eight of the 8th Dilaudid's. So that's 3 extra a day that I could be getting. But my doctor simply refuses to do any more than what I am getting now.
I am forced to take SO so much meds each day because of my gene problems. I wish it wasn't this way.
But anyways. I need to find a doctor who for one.. isn't afraid to prescribe me what I truly need. And hopefullyyy takes my insurance. If anyone has any info on a doctor who would probably help me.. Please post something on here and I will get with you and find him.
Been having back problems for 5 yrs and recently got diagnosed with cervical spine problems, the dr I have is stopping pain management practice so I need a new dr. Can anyone give me a doctor in the New Orleans area so I can get meds?
Hi Jeffery. I know you posted this a while back but did you find anyone? How are you? You're able to get someone to write for IV Dilaudid? I'm about to get a pain pump placed soon that'll have the IV Dilaudid going into the epidural space. Finally. I'm on 40mgs (5 of the 8mgs) every 3 hrs & I had my stomach & partial intestinal removal (cancer) so I'm only absorbing 2mgs. Unreal but finally got Medicare (I'm only 29) & they're paying for the pump. Let me know if I can help. I've seen my share in the metro area.
