I've been on oxycontin for a year---for pain. Had a bad accident, almost three dozen fractures. Have been tapering for past couple months, down to 10 mg oxycontin/day plus one or two 5 mg fast-acting oxycodone if withdrawal starts. So I'm on about 15-20 mg total/day. I plan to go cold turkey on Friday. Am I crazy to think that in a week to 10 days I'll be back to "normal." I've heard everything from 1 week to 3 months for withdrawal to go away. I have clonazepam to help with withdrawal pains, and gabapentin (leftovers from when I was in terrible pain). Advice? Home remedies? Experience, strength or hope to share? I'm pretty nervous about this. From what I've read, withdrawal can be hellish. ## Did you get a reply? Several years ago I did a cold turkey fro...

What doses do morphine patches come in and do morphine patches actually exsist. ## Hi. I know there is a strong opiod patch called Fentenyl. The available dose varies and I was told that this is the strongest form of opiod available. I was prescribed for a while and the patches last for 48-72 hrs before you need to change to a new one. Very easy to tale and I felt the least amount of paincompared to other types. I I've in V an ad a but I've read that Gentanyl with slight differences is in the USA as well. ## @Darby (original poster), I personally haven't heard of Morphine patches and do not think they exist. If they do make them, drug companies certainly aren't making any effort to market them. Post #1 had mentioned Fentanyl coming in the form of an opioid patch, and I b...

do they make 15mg oxycodone with no HCL ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I think you're misunderstanding what the HCL stands for, that means it's Oxycodone Hydrochloride. It's not a separate ingredient, it just designates the precise chemical salt that the Oxycodone is derived from, so it's all Oxycodone HCL. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

What does the SR stand for and what are the difference in 5mg hydrocodon to 15 mg morphine sulfate SR? Doctor took me off the hydrocodone but put me on the morphine. ## Hello, Carlos! How are you? The SR stands for sustained release, it designates the Morphine as being a time released formulation. Morphine and Hydrocodone are equivalent on a one to one ratio, so he's raised your dosage to try to help you get better control of your pain, throughout the day. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Somebody Please HELP!!!!!!!!!! I was once so hooked on oxycontin and heroin that I would do around 5 80mg oxys a day. I have kids so I tried a methadone clinic 2 years ago. Proud to say I'm a father again and haven't touched the stuff at all since. My problem is: A month ago when I was sick my mom (who got me started on oxy's and hate the clinic like you wouldn't believe...I know great mom!!) woke me and said here take these Tylenol's which I did and turns out I took two valium....I then a couple weeks later get called in for a urine test at the clinic. I put about 2 parts water and 1 part urine in my sample cup. 3 days later I'm told I've failed the test. I lose my take homes and have to pay 300 bucks a week for gas....yay o fuc*en yay. Anyways I'm told ...

I found a very small pale yellow pill with no markings on the floor in my apartment. I have tried searching it but cant find any results. Can someone please help me?? ## I am sorry, but if it has no markings, it will be impossible to positively identify, unless you would pay to have it lab tested. There are many over the counter pills on the market that meet this description, it could be anything from an Aspirin to some type of vitamin or herbal supplement. I am sorry, I wish I could be of more help! ## I am looking up the same thing but I know that the one I have is a torazapam and it's a little round yellow pill with no markings. ## small pale yellow round pill with no markings on either side

Need a doctor in Raleigh NC that will prescribe hydrocodone. Not a pain management doctor, just a primary care physician as my insurance will only pay for non specialist doctors. I had a doctor for 15 years that no longer practices & I need my meds refilled. Thank you

oval white pill with line in middle for breaking. I found them in my wifes purse ## Vicodin is a very powerful narcotic pain killer. Also very addictive! ## To be exact, this is a Acetaminophen 500mgs and Hydrocodone 5mgs, and as the other posters said, a narcotic pain reliever. ## Mr. Verwon, Sir, I have a question that maybe you could answer. I have blockage in my lower left leg from the knee down. I had surgery to insert a couple of Stents. This is a very painful deal. I was wondering that since it is blockage, would the Medication help any if it is not allowed to circulate to the effcted area, and if not, why would a MD allow you the possible chance of getting addicted to a pain medication such as Vicodine or Percocet, in which I have been taking both with no relief of pain. ## How ...

I read an article on-line that said methylparaben and bisacodyl are ratio-morphine ingredients in Dulcolax tablets. I am mainly trying to find out if any of the ingredients in Dulcolax tablets have morphine in them. ## Hello, Verna! How are you? I think the person that wrote the article was somewhat confused, because there is no Morphine in Dulcolax. Learn more Dulcolax details here. As a matter of fact, Ratio-Morphine actually refers to the Morphine that's manufactured by a specific pharmaceutical company, Ratiopharm and this is how generics are referred to in Canada, instead of just calling them Morphine, or Oxycodone, they use the company name, so other medications may be dispensed as APO-Tramadol and etc. Bisacodyl is a distant derivative of methane, so perhaps they misunderstoo...

Does anybody know if it is okay to take Advil on an empty stomach? I was told that it does a number on it, and I just wasn't sure - As a side note, I don't really take Advil on a regular basis at all. ## It's technically OK at the recommended dose but you might experience discomfort. What becomes a problem is if you take too much advil or take it for a prolonged period. If you can, try to eat something like a banana with it to buffer your tummy.

What type of table is the same as 40 mg oxycontin time release without the time release ## Hello, Joseph! How are you? Oxycontin contains the active ingredient Oxycodone and it is available in most countries in a regular release formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm prescribed 40 mg OxyContin extended release for pain I'm used to taking anywhere from 4-5 perk 10s a day I have a lot of anxiety of weather or not to take this pill it will be taken orally I do not want to her high please reply with information is this to strong what should I expect ext thank you

I currently go to a pain clinic and am prescribed Norco, 7.5 four times daily. Unfortunately, I ran out early this month for the first time this year. I have an appointment on Monday and have enough to cover my pill count, but I found out I will also be receiving a UA Monday. So my question is, if I take one pill the night (or morning) of my appointment, will it show up on the UA? I don't want to get a negative result on the hydro as they would assume I am selling, which I am not. Just ran out early. Secondly, I took some tramadol yesterday and today, how likely is that to show up on my UA? Not sure how they test, I had a UA in Jan and I just went into the bathroom and went in a cup. What would be the best time to take my one 7.5? If I took more than that, I would come up short on m...

Hi all! Was wondering what would happen in my situation. Today I went to Walgreen's with my sister to run an errand and while I was there, I wanted to ask which day my Norco script was due to be refilled (I wasn't sure if it was Friday or Saturday). I go to a PM doctor for degenerative disc & have been taking Norco since December. I asked the girl if she could check which day I was eligible for refill although this wasn't my normal Walgreen's but I figured since Walgreen's has a computer system, they can look up exactly when my script is ready. (I wasn't planning on filling it there because according to my PM contract I must fill at one pharmacy. I just wanted the date checked.) She asked me randomly if I was taking the medication as scheduled, not really pay...

What are the risk factors associated with the drug combination of 4mg Dilaudid and 0.5mg Klonopin? ## Hi Nikki, According to umm.edu, there are drug interactions between Dilaudid (hydromorphone) and Klonopin (clonazepam). These precautions state that taking the two together may cause side effects such as breathing problems (i.e. feeling short of breath) as well as pale blue nails/skin that may require immediate medical attention. They go on to note that if you are planning on taking both medications at once, your doctor may alter the dosage and/or frequency of use in order to lessen your risk for such side effects. However it's also important tell your doctor about any other drugs you are taking (such as methamphetamine) in order to rule out any other possible risk factors *god forb...

I really need some advice here. I am a cancer patient with a rare tumor. I have taken OxyContin 60MG and OxyCodone 5MG for breakthrough for over 10 years. My DR and I agree it is time to try other medications as I need more pain relief. I do not yet know how many MG he will prescribe for any of these medications. I realize that it would be easier to help answer my questions but any input in general I appreciate. He has given me 3 different meds to choose from: Ms Contin , Morphine & Methadone. Hoping to get others opinions on these. Whether it's regarding pain relief, side effects, etc. Whether it's just about the medication or about in comparison to my current pain meds. I think he will keep me on the 5mg Oxycodone for breakthroughs ( although not positive. ) ANY and ALL th...

I have a white pill that i believe to be a 10mg norco it has a 9 and 3 on one side, is this what it is? ## Is that the only marking on the tablet, or are there additional numbers or letters? The 93 is usually used by Teva Pharmaceuticals, though they are slowly phasing out that imprint, and it is usually followed by an additional set of numbers that identifies the medication. Learn more Norco details here. ## That is probably a generic ultram called tramadol 50mg strength. Is it football shaped and smaller that most norcos? If so, that's what it is.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. What is the dosage? I can't answer your question without this additional detail. My friend was busted in Florida for 150 oxycontin pills. Does anyone know if that is considered more than 4 grams? ## The grams are based upon the mg but the charge isn't. 150 would be well over the minimum needed to charge possession with intent to deliver as a felony. Sorry? ## Each pill is a felony they don't weigh out the pills

Dr prescribed Xartemis XR for pain in herniated discs in cervical spine. Then the following day prescribed me Diclofenac Sod EC 50mg for the same condition. I had these filled at two different pharmacys. Now my concern is are these ok to be taken together? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Where they prescribed by the same doctor? It seems rather odd to prescribe both, especially in time released formulations, though it can be done, if there are specific reasons to do so, such as a lot of swelling. Xartemis contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen in a time released formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I take 5 mg oxycodone and have so for years , on occasion I have taken a few 15mg my probation officer is saying with my past two swab tests that I am positive for opiates . I thought oxycodone is an opiate. He said they can test the levels and that i must be overusing or abusing. Is it possible to tell exactly what I took between 5mg and a 15mg. Im allowed 8 a day of 5mg if i happen to have taken the 15mg but only at the most 3 and no 5's can they tell that ??? ## They will tell you that just to try and scare you from taking a larger dose. But there test will tell them simply POS. or NEG.. ## YES, I do believe with mouth swab they can detect exact levels of the opioid and that is the point of it. Doc wants to CYA and make sure we3 are all taking the dosages prescribed. Im in same b...
