A few years ago I had a lung removed due to lung cancer. I was put on hydrocodone 7.5 500. I was off work for 10 weeks and in pain for several years including now. I found that stretching and massage therapy on the scar line and above and below the line all around my left side helps me with the pain. The pain is now tollerable. However getting off the hydrocodone is much more difficult than I thought. If I just quit, I take 4 a day, I get diarreha for several days. I can deal with that. But I get insomnia and restless and very tired and depressed. I end up back on the stuff in a few days because I feel so miserable and the soreness in my rib and shoulderblade gets worse. I really don't want to take this stuff but its really hard to get off. Any help appreciated. ## I have been takin...

We are on vacation in Australia. My daughter cut her finger badly and received stitches at a local 24 hour clinic. No pain meds were prescribed for her. She is having tremendous pain; I have given her paracetamol according to the instructions today, but it's not enough. I have some hydrocodone acetaminophen 7.5 - 325 for knee pain I have. Any recommendation about giving her one of my pills to help her sleep tonight, or maybe even half a pill? I have emailed the clinic for directions but they will take 24+ hours to get back to me and she'd like to use one tonight. ## It's according to how old your daughter is. If she's an adult one will not hurt her for pain because that's what they prescribe me when they pulled my tooth. They are mild pain meds so 1 every 6-8 hours i...

I'm 69 years old and have been on 50 Fentanyl patch for about a year. I've gone down to 37 and having stomach cramps headache's anxiety and will soon be on 25. I'm scared the anxiety is awful. I have no family and I'm wondering if anybody else out there is suffering the same thing? ## Fentanyl is a very potent opiate, so any tapering should be done on a very slow schedule. How fast have you been doing it? Is your doctor setting up the tapering schedule for you? Since it is so potent, it is normal to experience some withdrawal symptoms, when tapering, or stopping it. They may include nausea, headache, rebound pain, anxiety, depression, muscle spasms, diarrhea, and more. Ref: Opiate Withdrawal Information

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and started using pain killers for years to cope with working and then was prescribed suboxen 24mg that's 8mg 3 times a day for about 5 years. From my experience suboxen is very strong for pain and stores in your bones and fat so it takes a whole month for it to completely come out of your body. SO INSTEAD OF THE SLOW PAINFULL POCESS OF TAPERING OFF OF THE SUBOXEN I find it easier to replace it with pain killers/opiates for about a month and then use the suboxen for a few days! The levels will drop and the suboxen will come out of your system with out the with drawls. If your experiencing with drawls from suboxen you may want to try marijuana to sleep and help with the pain, eating and anxiety. Also staying hydrated (water), taking vitamins, a...

what color is an 80mg oxycodone pill ## Mattg ## How can I i.d. 80 oxicontin, the old version. No jell,no time release.Only the fast release. Also how to id the 30 mg,no time release or jell.I know the 30is blue and the 80 green,i think ## what are the 80 mils with nothing on them but came from a famous purdue pherm. in conn. are they real they were in in a bubble safe package ## In the U.S. and Canada, there is not now, nor has there ever been a regular or instant release 80mg Oxycodone tablet. The 80mgs tablets are only available as the name brand Oxycontin, though for a brief period there were some generics on the market, but all were controlled release in this dosage. The original name brand 80mg tablet was green with an OC on one side and 80 on the other, the new formulation has an OP...

I'm trying to identify a small pale blue bi-convex pill with N|N on one side and 5 on the other side. My friend said that they are oxycontin but I believe it actually is oxybutynin. Anybody know for sure? It's from Canada and most likely a generic brand. ## Yes, there is an Oxybutynin from Canada that matches this description, it is a 5mg tablet, and is most commonly used to treat overactive bladder. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision, and urinary retention. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Round small blue pill with 5 on one side and n|n on the other side . Was told it was an oxy cotin , might even be a repressed pill ## It’s oxybutynin. It’s NOT a narcotic and is usually prescribed for overactive...

Newly FDA approved Xtampza ER has a different abuse deterent additive than Oxycontin, however I have not tried it yet for effectiveness. I have taken Oxycontin over 10 years so I felt the huge difference when they began adding abuse additive to it. I am curious if anyone has info on this new med, how it works as compared to Oxycontin, or all info on it that may help me decide if I should switch? I always had excellent results with Oxycontin but when the abuse stuff was started it took so much away from effectiveness. Appreciate any info. Thanks. ## Hello, Lynx! How are you? I was reading about it, after seeing your post, but they only list their deterrent under a proprietary name and do not list any specific details on how it works. However, they do say that, if needed, the capsules can...

Well I just really need to know if what I am doing is considered doctor shopping. I fell at at department store and injured my knee. Now I have to go to the doctor the lawyer sent me to. He prescribes pain meds for me but the only thing he can treat is my knee. I started having back problems. My primary care doctor sent me to a different doctor and he also gives me meds. But the pharmacy said they would call the doctors and tell on me. So I went and ahead and told the doctors myself so that it would not look as bad. What do you think will happen to me? The pharmacy refused to give me back my prescription. Can they do that? ## Yes, when you are getting medications from more than one doctor, regardless of the condition, that is the very definition of doctor shopping. Logically, if one doc...

Looking for a good Pain Management dr in Atlanta. I've been going to the same dr for 8 years and out of the blue he changed his patients meds, no longer prescribing any type of Oxycodone. No matter how well it's working for the patient. He's changed mine to Opana ER and it's $1200 for the prescription, I can't find a pharmacy that stocks them and I hear they have terrible side effects. Help me find another dr please! ## let me guess is his initials D.H? dr. Da......He??? ## Opana ER contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, it is another opiate just like the Oxycodone you were taking, so it carries the risk of causing the same side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. They also carry the risk of being habit forming. R...

I have been on morphine for about a year taking 100mg a day. I got 4 subs. If I take those 4 sub's will I not go through withdrawals or should I brake them up in half to make it 8 days of half a sub a day. I'm out of money and can't go to a doctor. I want to end this nightmare. Can anyone help me through this. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? You can't take Subutex, until you are in full withdrawal, otherwise, it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What dosage do you have? It's hard to provide you with more information, without the specific details. ## Thanks for the ...

Do people insufflate these pills? and do the side effects include angriness from not taking them? ## Hello, Efox68! How are you? Yes, to both questions. This tablet contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. People do commonly misuse them in this manner and withdrawals may cause irritability and anger. Is there anything else I can help with? ## ANY opiate, regardless of it's mode of ingestion, will cause withdrawal if taken long enough. Addiction and/or tolerance to an opioid will eventually create an imbalance within you that will be " extremely unpleasant" to say it mildly. My advice: if it...

Is there aspirin in norco ## Hi sue, The answer to your question is no. Norco contains: Hydrocodone Bitartrate + Acetaminophen I think acetaminophen is commonly misconstrued as being aspirin, however they are not the same. Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID) where as acetaminophen is not. I hope this info helps! ## Acetaminophen (Tylenol) has no anti- inflammatory ability, so is NOT an NSAID. Having said that, it is otherwise, very similar in effect. It's good for fever, headache, and some pains but not those caused by inflammation.

It's a capsule and it has dark blue on one end and on the other is a light blue and in between both of them there is a white or gray ring around the center of it. What is it? And what does it do if u take two of them? ## These contain Acetaminophen and Diphenhydramine; they are a generic or store brand of Tylenol PM. The regular dosing is actually 2 of them, they will make you drowsy. They may also cause nausea and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## My wife is pregnant. Can she take that? ## Why do people real them in half and only take the dark blue side only

I believe that a dear friend of mine is possibly addicted to Vicodin. Probably it is really hard for her to just come off it, but maybe by switching to another med or weening off is the thing to do. I notice that Lorcet also has Hydrocodone in it, but maybe it is not as addicting as Vicodin? Do you think that maybe by starting on this drug instead she can start to come down off the habit? If anybody could offer any information I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ingrid ## Ingrid, please note that Lorcet is essentially the same drug as Vicodin, but with a different name. If your friend is really addicted to Vicodin then it is imperative that she seek medical assistance. Withdrawals from narcotics are said to be very unpleasant experiences! I was hospitalized when I couldn't walk and found it was a MRSA infection that spread to my heart, lungs and both hips. I am still here leaving in five days. I must use a walker because it's too painful to walk. I was on IV Dilaudid up to 2mg per hour, weaned down to 2 mg every 3-4 hours; then three weeks ago they switched to 37.5 mcg Fentanyl every 72 hrs and 20mg Oxycodone a day. I'm going home in five days and no longer have a family doctor... Is the hospital going to send me home on something or am I going to suffer till I get a doctor at home? Will there be withdrawals? It's been 50 days of painkillers supervised. ## Hi, I hope you get to feeling better soon, that being said, you better start asking every doctor you come in contact with and ask them these questions,...

Found bottle of oblong white pills at friend's house who had prob with rx vicodin & percocets. (Seems to be clean for awhile) Smallish, white, oblong pills. Said she she got from hosp awhile ago when she was 'still using.' Not scored, and imprint scratched out on other side. !!! ## Vicodin usually isn't on the smallish side, because the amount of Acetaminophen in them tends to make them larger, once it's added to the Hydrocodone with the other binders and fillers. Learn more Vicodin details here. They are usually about the size of a large, oblong potent multivitamin, such as Centrum, give or take a slight fluctuation in size, but that should give you an idea. And if the imprint has been scratched off, then yes that is very suspicious. A hospital wouldn't be a...

I'm no relationship expert here, but if I could suggest anything at all, the first thing I would personally do in such a situation is completely cut any ties with your ex, since that's where the problem seems to be stemming from. If they decided to keep her letter on file under your name, then it may be a good idea to really try and work with other doctors to regain some level of trust...

I was given a lortab 10, basically kicked out of the hospital, and told to wait for my ride in the rain. My question is whether there is a law governing the time after given a narcotic that the hospital has to monitor me for any bad reactions? ## The emergency room is supposed to keep an eye on you for at least an hour (give or take) before discharging you.. however with oral medications versus I.V. medications it could be different. Have you ever been prescribed Norco before? ## There is really no set time frame for this, they can dismiss any patient, at any given time, as long as that person is stable at the time, and not in immediate life threatening danger. While most will monitor someone for awhile, they are not obligated to do so, and they may have various reasons for moving someo...

I am currently on an oxycodone m/r script, and find that it certainly does not last for the claimed twelve hours per tablet. No matter what, my doctor refuses to prescribe anything for this 'breakthrough' pain, not even a 20mg OxyNorm to carry me over. I have heard, however that a DIFFERENT analgesic is best in this situation. Since most drug information sites and forums are American, the drug which keeps cropping up and is most highly recommended to me is hydrocodone. This is NOT available in the UK, and despite many attempts, I can find no place to access it. The only other country which uses hydrocodone, in a much better pure form, is Germany, where it is available under the brand DICODID by Knoll, 10mg per tablet. Unfortunately I have had just as little success in tracing a ...
