I just had my spinal revision surgery on 11/4/2016, and due to the severity of the issues and problems, the surgery took far longer than expected. This surgeon was expecting, and correct, that I would require a stronger pain medication regime following surgery. Through several trial and errors, and the need to be off of IV therapy to be admitted to rehab, we decided that I would be on ms contin 30mg XR and dilaudid 8 mgs x4hrs prn. Pain management working well with only minor breakthrough pain easily handled through controlled breathing. I have found that a dose of ms contin at 8pm followed by a dose of dialaudid at 10pm allows me somewhat decent sleep until 4:30-5:00am! I am on both of these meds do to severe medical issues. I take 40 Mg of opana 4 x daily and 30 Mg of oxycodone 5 x daily as well as Nortriptyline 150 Mg twice daily and neurontin 600 Mg 3 x daily. Needless to say a few different stomach medication due to chronic nausea. Oh and also phenergan pills and injectable. My question is has anyone found anything other than multiple medications to relieve severe chronic pain. ## I also have severe medical problems and nothing works. For two years was on 3Mg iv dilaudid every three hours and 120 percocet 10/325 every month. Zofran for nausea. losing doctor for pain meds, have to find doctor in Carbon County Pennsylvania, preferably near Lehighton Pa. Have MRI of my back and have been on oxycodone for last 10 years. Dont want to go through pain managment. ## I live in lehighton too and Im in the same boat as you. I have been taking 4 10/325 Percocet daily plus 100mcq Fentanyl patch every 48 hrs.My Doc changed me to 15mg morphine IR every 6hrs as needed,I can not feel hardly any difference in pain relief should I? ## Hello, Tom! How are you? The Oxycodone in Percocet is one and a half time stronger than Morphine, and the Fentanyl is over 81 times stronger than Morphine, which likely gives you a bit of a comparison. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you still on the Fentanyl Patch? If so, you're basically on equivalent doses, not anything stronger. ## Which medication is stronger 15 milligrams of Oxy Cotton are 30 mg of morphine . Billy

I found a small orange pill with no markings or score marks in my boyfriends pocket. A buddy of his told me it was an oxy 40 but I can't find this anywhere. Can anyone tell me if that's what it is or if it's something else? ## If this really was an "Oxy 40" as his buddy claimed, my understranding is that they would not be from the US (unless they're counterfeit). The FDA requires all prescription drugs to bear an imprint/marking of some sort for identification. Without this, my guess is that it's probably fake or foreign (assuming it's actually Oxycodone), or an OTC med/supplement... Have you considered discussing this with your boyfriend to see if his story lines up with what you were told by his 'buddy'?

I am trying to get off opiates myself but safely, I have been fighting this demon for years and I don't want it anymore. I have 26 of the 30mg morphine sulphate pills to help with the withdrawal discomfort, so how do I taper and do this process safely??? ## Be careful should consult with Dr to help u get off , if not start cutting it 5mg per day until u get down to 5mg and cut that in half for a few days u may want to get some Ben gay to rub on legs etc drink plenty of fluids try light activity Good Luck ## @Gracie, Sorry to hear about your situation. I have always went to Krogers and got my norco 10/325 manufacturers are Mallinckrodt. Never really had an issue as I only take 4 a day as prescribed by doctor for a car accident and injury i was involved in years ago. Well i am now on an insurance that is cheaper through walgreens. My problem is because I love to read, and have read that the ones to be filled Tuesday at walgreens are watson 853 and are white..? Are these good for the pain and the effectiveness we all normally search for with such pill or is it a waste of time. Ive read they go through actavis now and have read that they are not effective at all..0% for pain. A 50mg morphine patch has been prescribed by an oncologist and is too strong for my uncle who has terminal stomach cancer. Is it o.k. to cut the patch in half? does butavail help with pain i"m on 30 mg morphine sulphate twice a day and 2 5 mg oxycodone per day. How long do you have to be off these meds to start the butavail? and does it help with pain Im in pain with the amount im taking of these crappy meds, Help?

What is this pill and what is it used for ## Hi Gloria, Any chance that your imprint says 44 235 as opposed to 44 236? Reason I ask is because I located an oblong blue pill marked with 44 235 on one side and blank on the other. It's identified as an over the counter Pain reliever PM extra strength tablet, containing 500mgs of acetaminophen + 25mgs of diphenhydramine. For verification, this particular pill also carries a National Drug Code of 59779-235 I hope this helps!

However, it may cause you to experience more of the FDA listed side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual. There is no 30mg immediate release Oxycodone, so if you weren't taking Oxycontin, then I assume you were on the regular release formulation that starts working 15 to 20 minutes after you take it. That said, there are stronger doses of Oxycodone available that could try, if your doctor approves. If you prefer Morphine, you'd need 45mgs of it to be equivalent to each 30mgs of the Oxycodone that you were taking, so more if you need to increase the dosage. I have a friend that was addicted to percocet. She was taking on average 12 pills (10s) a day. She stopped cold turkey and has been clean for 13 days. She has experienced all the talked about side effects (sleeplessness, irritability, depression, etc.). Tonight, however, it was something completely different. She was slurring her words, she wobbled when she walked, she didn't have any idea what was going on like where she had been or what she had been doing. Could this also be a withdrawal symptom? It was shocking and scary to me because it has been 13 days off the drug and this is the first that anything like this has happened.
