How do I taper off, step by step, so as to minimize side effects? ## Lyrica is quite easy to come off. Your Dr could prescribe a lower dose for two weeks or what I did was drop one pill a day for two weeks, then two pills a day for two weeks and so on. I had a bit of a headache but no problem. ## Hello, Rod! How are you? And thanks to Eunie for your helpful response. One caution I would like to add is to please do not stop this medication cold turkey, since it is an anticonvulsant, though it also helps with nerve pain, a sudden withdrawal could cause seizures. Typical side effects to this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, mood swin...
Can medication listed in title cause liver (Bilirubin) increases? My Bilirubin labs have been coming back at at 1.6-1.9. Can it be harmful in the long run? ## The APAP is medication speak for Acetaminophen and it is very well known that long-term use of it can have detrimental effects on the liver. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? If you require a narcotic analgesic, you may need to switch to something that doesn't have the Acetaminophen in it. ## Get off that crap. Acetaminophen will destroy your liver. You're getting 5 mg hydro & 500 acetaminophen. They make percocets in low doses and with no acetaminophen. It is in the oxycodone family... but it is usually not teamed with acetaminophen. ## What are the long term implications of taking Hydrocodone? Has anyone taken...
This is the first time I've been given this tiny yellow oxycodone 15mg it's the smallest 15mg I've ever been given by my pharmacy. Has anyone else had these before? I'm use to the green 16mg A214's. Is there a strength difference? Do they work the same? Please need help I have chronic brain ear Injury and barely get relief from my normal green 15 mg's are these tiny yellows as effective? ## Correction imeant to say A214 15mgs not 16mgs. Just made a correction to a misprint. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help with any information. ## I too have been introduced to this new pill and I like them much better than the others. I have had them all from the U23 to the Ks. These seem to work faster and last longer. Just my opinion ## I just took one t 188 it's t...
I have been prescribed Hydrocodone and would like to know how much I can safely take without worrying about an overdose. One pill is not touching the pain! ## In adults, the max dose of Hydrocodone is 60 mg/day or a max single dose of 15 mg. In children older than 12 years of age, the max dose of Hydrocodone is 45 mg/day or a max single dose of 10 mg. The usual adult dose is 2.5 to 7.5 mg of Hydrocodone every 4 to 6 hours. Editor's note: This refers to Hydrocodone by itself, not when taken in combination with other ingredients such as Acetaminophen. ## It really depends on how long you've been on it. Most patients can take 1-2 Hydrocodone every 6 hours as needed for pain. If it's 7.5/325 then you can safely take two but what other medications are you on? How much Tylenol is ...
Hi. I'm hoping someone with experience dealing with pharmacies can help me understand something. Last month I was in the process of waiting on a Prior Authorization for my insurance for Fentanyl patches, and since I was due to fill my prescription I was dispensed 1 box of patches to pay cash for while waiting for coverage approval. Normally I get 4 boxes to last the month, and when I asked about what would happen when the PA was approved I was informed that the pharmacy couldn't dispense more than 4 boxes per month. Fair enough, I didn't want anything extra or early, I just wanted to know if we would be able to get the insurance coverage aligned with the next dispensing so I wouldn't have to continue paying for 1 box into the future. I paid for the 1 box on July 23rd, an...
My son passed away and the toxicolgy report just says what was in his blood was morphine and urine was codeine. Please someone tell me what that means. What was it that my son took. I do not understand these things and I hoenstly do not know what my son took that took his life. Can anyone answer this question with an idea of what it was or a fact of what it was? ## Both Morphine and Codeine are narcotic pain medications and neither is present coupled with the other in any medication, so he would have had to take them both separately. Morphine is available by itself, in several formulations, there is a time release product called MS Contin, the regular release and an instant release. Codeine is available as a regular release formulation, by itself, as well as coupled with Acetaminophen i...

I tell him that I AM taking them as prescibed and he DOES believe me since I have no reason to lie and Im in too much p...
What is a white oblong tablet with imprint 6037 on it? It this like vicodin? ## Hello, Jay! How are you? I think the marking you're looking at is actually G037. This tablet is manufactured by Tris Pharma and they list it as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so yes, it is a generic for Vicodin. (NDC 27808-0037) The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Ref: DailyMed ## Is this the same as LORTAB? ## Yes, the active ingredients are the same.
Is anyone in Florida having any issues getting their oxycodone 30mg filled at any pharmacy's? Especially at a Publix? I had an issue this month and I'm hoping in January with the reset of the amount allowed for the year I should have no problems obtaining them anyone have any insight on this topic. Also can ANYONE tell me if they have any issues filling Oxycontin 40mg? Or actually any milligram please, I'm wanting to switch from the GARBAGE 100mg MS Contin ER to the Oxycontin since Publix SAYS they distributer does not carry the oxymorphone 30mg ER witch I find so hard to believe!!!! They can't even special order it for me so that's why I'm asking about the oxycontin and I believe only Purdue and Teva are the only two manufacturers and I'd be fine with either...
Please help. I received 100 mg tramadol tablets yesterday that look different than they usually do. From HAB Pharmaceuticals India. They are usually small white round tablets with one line scored across one side of the pill. This time they were slightly larger tablets, round, white with two lines scored on one side in the shape of an "X" They have never looked like this, but the packaging says the same info as I usually get. They are in blister strips of 10. Even the blister strip is slightly larger than they usually are. Does anyone else take these 100 mg Top dol tramadol tablets from HAB Pharmaceuticals that have an X scored on one side? ## That's funny you say that. I just received my tramadol from India 100 mg from HAB they are always exactly as you explained round white...
Fo r the past 4 month I have wasted God only know how many hours a d ay worrying about if I would be able to find a doctor who would continue my MS Contin (100mg) 3 times a day when I moved from FL to MN. I read over and over again about what you should say when you see the doctor. Such as you should not tell the doctor what pain medications have helped you in the past because that could appear to beking. Beilg to have epidural inj's. donon you even if they have not worked in the past. That way the doctor won't think you are just there for the pain meds and are drug seeking. To be honest I am drug seeking because the medication I am on gets my pain levels to a norm of 0-3. If a drug I used to control my high blood pressure worked won't I tell the doctor that? So why would I ...
I have a white pill of Tramadol with no scoring, and L194 on one side. Does anyone know what strength it is? ## THIS IS NOT TRAMADOL! The pill with this marking is manufactured by Major Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 20mgs of Famotidine, which is antacid (NDC 0904-5780). Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and dry mouth. Inactive Ingredients: - Carnauba Wax - Silicon Dioxide - Croscarmellose Sodium - Lactose Monohydrate - Magnesium Stearate - Microcrystalline Cellulose - Polyethylene Glycol, Unspecified - Polyvinyl Alcohol, Unspecified - Talc - Titanium Dioxide This has come up before, with people claiming it was Tramadol, but there is none listed in the databases with this marking. The Tramadol tablets with the L logo on them h...
Does anyone feel that mall. Hydro 10/325 has changed? It used to work...now it just makes me REALLY tired? and they seem smaller?Im alergic to Amneal anything, so I downgraded to this one from Oxy. There just an not any good generics out there any longer, unless you can find Endocet? Ive been approved for brand. But the co pay is 450.00? I cannot handle that a month. Does anyone have good results with mallenkrodt Hydro 10? ## Hello, Dolly! How are you? No, there haven't been many complains about theirs, at all. You may have just grown tolerant to it, though. How long have you been taking it? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## well,Dolly here! Ive b...
I HAVE GAINED 27 POUNDS IN 3 MONTHS. WHAT CAN I DO OTHER THAN STOP TAKING LYRICA? SHOULD I QUIT OR LOWER THE DOSAGE? I TAKE 2 DOSES PER DAY. ## It's difficult to say exactly what about a medication causes any specific side effect, in many cases there is really no way to explain it, but Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is actually an anticonvulsant, so it works on brain chemicals. This means that it may be having an affect on something that stimulates the appetite, or slows the metabolism, so some people gain weight easier than normal, while taking it. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? You may need to start more closely watching what you eat, or up the amount of exercise you get each day. ## I can relate to the weight gain with Lyrica. When I first...
I was told it was Oxycontin SR 100mg, but it difffers in features from other Canadian pharmacy oxycontin. One side has 100 imprinted. However, instead of the CDN imprint, there are symbols or a logo on the other side. Looks a bit like a smiley face, but that depends on how you rotate the pill. Please see images below: ## The symbol on the back side of the pill appears to be a P, standing for the manufacturer Pharmascience. Here is an image from their site: If you visit their online product catalog at and then click on the letter T to view those medications, it is listed as Topiramate 100 mg. So it is not an Oxycodone. This is an anticonvulsant drug used to treat epilepsy in children and adults. It is sometimes used as an antidepressant. For more information about this drug please see:...
What is val syrup I have medication for my dog this is tramadol/Val syrup. I do know what tramadol is but do not know what Val syrup is or what it contains ## Hello, Beck! How are you and your pup? From what I've found, it is a B vitamin complex that is combined with the pain medication, because they support nerve health and function. The side effects in a dog, are similar to those that the FDA lists for humans and may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So is val syrup used by humans? Or is it purely for veterinary use? ## It is used in veterinary medicine; it’s the carrier aka the liquid used to mix with medication to make a liquid medication.
My son is 33 years old and just diagnosed with degenerative bone disease and spinal stenosis. He was addicted to pain pills for 7 years and has been clean for 2 years. My greatest fear is him having to take pain med's. Are there any that are not addictive? He had such a hard time coming off and staying off. ## Hello, Molly! How are you? Yes, actually there are. Some of the antiseizure medications, as well as some antidepressants, can treat pain and they aren't addictive, at all. He just needs to see a doctor and be honest about the problems he's had in the past, so they can explore what treatment options would be safest for him. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## What is done for treating or managing the problem of Degenerative Disc Disease?
I have alleged Oxycodone pills that I'd like to verify. When broken in half and wet, they turn blue, with darker blue spots. They have T192 on one side and a line in the center. ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals, and they list it as containing 5mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Percocet. (NDC 31722-192). The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Inactive Ingredients: - Silicon Dioxide - Crospovidone - Microcrystalline Cellulose - Croscarmellose Sodium - Povidone - Starch, Pregelatinized Corn - Stearic Acid - FD&C Blue No. 1 Ref: DailyMed ## What are the blue spots on the pill? ## T192 pill white with blue s...
This pill doesn't work at all like others I have taken. I'm still in pain after I take it. ## I am very sorry that you are still in pain, Penny! Many people have complained about this, actually, though there are some others that have good results with it. How long have you been taking it? Have you informed your prescribed of the problem? There can be some slight fluctuations, when switching from one generic to another, but they are usually very minuscule and most people adjust after a few weeks, once their body gets used to the medication. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## This is the worst generic percocet I've ever taken. I had adverse r...
Good morning or afternoon all... Some years ago I was prescribed Oxycodone. Chronic lower back pain and in both legs. Had AFIB...hospitalized for weeks. Then developed blood clots. Asked doc to take me off of Oxycodone. Too strong. Tried Tramadol. Body didn't like it. Tried another. Still issues. Went to Hydrocodone / Acetaminophen 7.5 / 325. Better. Then tried Aurobindo. For me, it is great! 4 years now. No side effects, etc. A few months back Aurobindo was discontinued. Contacted the manufacturer. Might come back again, but who knows when. Anyway, I tried Mallinckrodt... body doesn't like it. Tried Rhodes...not as good for me as Aurobindo. But stuck with Rhodes. Any ideas who might still have Aurobindo? Not CVS, not Walmart, not Walgreens. Or I would try another brand. Suggest...
