91 year old man, after having shingles , has been on drug for over 2 years. Before an upcoming nerve block the doctor put him on levorthanol instead of hydrocodone for 3 months. After the nerve block the doctor took him off of both drugs. He has been suffering the withdrawal symphtoms. He is most distrubed about not being able to sleep. What is proper treatment at this time? ## I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran of the Korean war. I have been on Hydrocodone 5 /acetaminophen for years. It is no longer effective, I have been in AA for 40 plus years, no slips. I took oxycoten (?) once and it made me high, I quit it. My husband has cancer stage 4. His Dr has prescribed him morphine sulfate 1 pill every 12 hrs & Oxycodone 1 pill every 4 hrs. How many pills should he be taking per day (in a 24 hr period) & how many pills of each should be prescribed for a month? ## I work in a pharmacy and we would calculate it as follows: Morphine - 1 every 12 hours for a total day supply of 2, quantity for a 30 day supply would be 60 Oxycodone - 1 every 4 hours for a total day supply of 6, quantity for a 30 day supply would be 180 ## Thank you for the clarification! ## My interpretation which is not official check w/your doctor - after all they scripted them 1 every 12 hours take one after getting up say you get up @ 7 take meds @ 8am then take another @ 8pm 4 hour say you sleep from midnite till 7 ..... one...

I am on Suboxone and Neurontin (Gabapentin) and I have a urine drug test in the morning. I've taken a total of six 50mg Lyrica tablets. Hello everyone, I'm trying to find out what manufacturer makes the best (as in best pain relief) 8 mg hydrocodone. I've been taking 8 mg Mallinckrodt hydrocodone since December 2017. I take the medication for breakthrough neuropathic pain (I also have intrathecal pump w/ hydromorphone). Prior to Dec. 2017, I was taking Actavis brand 30 mg oxycodone but getting only minimal pain relief which is why my doctor switched to the hydrocodone. I had tried a few different brands of oxycodone but in the end, stuck with Actavis as it was MUCH better than the others. I thought I was going nuts until I googled this strange and worthless new pill. I have been taking 10/325 for years and my pharmacy filled this one with Rhodes pharmaceutical product. I have been taking now for 3 days. The smell of Homatropine is so bad my dog coughs from it. I am seeking a pain dr. in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma or surrounding area that does not treat patients as criminals for needing pain meds. Broke neck in 2007 has left lasting pain in several areas of body. The pain is always with me and is unbearable at times. I have had severe chronic nerve pain in my lower back from a botch-up surgery for 7 yrs. I was taking roxicodone 30mg with percocet 5/325 for breakthur til 2 days ago, my doc prescribed fentynl patch 50mg along with 15mg roxicodone for breakthru. having serious pain, is it safe for me to double the 15? I feel like I would be literally double-dosing but the pain is intolerable. I've been on 30mg oxycodone for 10years one month I filled my RX & they were a different brand, they were KVT Tech. The entire month I had no pain relief! I was in so much pain! The next month I got actavis the brand I've always taken & it was night & day! A complete difference I finally got pain relief! iS HYDROMORPHONE the same as Morphine I was just concerned about my aunt. ## No they are not the same drug. Hydromorphone is a derivative of morphine. Hydromorphone is approx. 5x more potent mg for mg than morphine, and is typically given as an alternative to morphine.
