Please explain the meaning of medication half life.Brother was prescribed oxycodon 20mg every 8 hrs. Then decided to take instead 1/2 tablet every 4 hrs and it really did terrible things to him.For three days he was awake and moving;argumentive;and unaware of what was actually going on.Thought pattern was totally disorgqanized.Since the tiny pills are not scored I finally made it clear to him they are not to be cut in half and he is not to change the prescription instructions ever. ## If they are extended release they can NOT be cut in half. I knocked about 2 weeks worth of dilaudid down my sink by accident when I was brushing my teeth yesterday morning. I saved 4 pills. I take 4mg-4x per day and was switched last month from morphine to fentanyl 25mcg patches every 72 hours. I have been on the dilaudid for 5 months. I'm very concerned about the withdrawal I'm going to go thru without my meds. Do you think the patch and a few leftover morphine pills from last month will help my situation? Will they make the withdrawal go away faster? I also have 2 subutex pills that are older. Should I take the subs or will they put me in a precipitated withdrawal with the patches? Ok, so I was a long time opiate patient (percocet, dilaudid) and went to rehab in July. I am on 14mg of Subutex (buprenorphine) and was clean.... until yesterday. I unfortunately relapsed and am deeply regretting my poor decision and poor judgment. I know that going back to opiates is definitely NOT the road I wanna go back to. Not looking for a lecture, please. I already feel guilty enough. Are there any markings on the tablet in question? Can you please post back and clarify? Ive been taking the oxycontin for 10 yrs. best drug I ever had till the ops just came out. I only swallow them as directed. It used to take 30 min for me to feel them. Now its 3 hrs. and then it just slowly releases. A lortab is even better now. used to take a 40mg at 5 am-11am-and 5 pm. they worked great. some people I know couldnt take them for i made them drowsy or sick at their stomach. not for Me, it kept Me motivated and was perfect for my arthritis. Hi. I was wondering if anyone out there has been able to get Acetaminophen in IV form for everyday aches and pains or to take with oxycodone to make it more effective? Also, what is Toradol? I am in the marine corp and was prescribed Oxycodone 5mg for an injury and on a drug test I tested positive for Morphine. I have never taken or been given Morphine.
