Pain Management And Pain Medication

I am currently living in Lansing, MI and have been suffering from low-back pain for many, many years. I've been on several different medications, as well as being completely off medications following a laminectomy/discectomy. A few years ago I moved to Las Vegas, but since I've returned to Michigan, I've had a really difficult time finding a doctor that is either helpful or compassionate. Both doctor's I've been to says the CDC is no longer allowing them to prescribe to any patient unless they have cancer OR they were already an established patient when the new CDC recommendations came down. Does anyone know of a doctor I can go to that is willing to set up a reasonable treatment plan? I used to be active, and now all I can do is sit around in pain. HELP PLEASE!!!

Interestingly enough, I just read an article this morning about how many doctors have misunderstood the CDC guidelines, and the need for them to clarify them, or suspend them altogether.

The Hill: Opiod Crackdown Leaving Chronic Pain Patients in Limbo

As stated in the article, some doctors think they may face repercussions, such as fines, jail time, loss of license, and etc., if they don't strictly adhere to these guidelines, they have also been applying it beyond its intended outpatient care setting.

The CDC has admitted that there is a problem, but that was in 2019, and so far, they've done nothing to change it.

Perhaps you could show this article to a doctor, and get them too look deeper into the CDC guidelines?

Do you have a primary care physician who may be able to help you find a new specialist?
