Paracetamol may help with the pain, however, it is not an anti-inflammatory and will not help with the joint swelling that is often associated with Osteoarthritis.
That is why nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories are usually given, though they can be more rough on your stomach.
What has your doctor advised you to use?
