Updated October 19, 2011

I have had six teeth removed from my upper mouth and am suffering pain. My dentist said to take Paracetamol and Ibruprofen alternately but not a lot of good. My Doctor says Enantyum 25.
Is this a good idea?

Hi Justian, it sounds like the medications which your doctor is recommending are not very strong for severe pain. Rather, they are intended to be mild to moderate pain relievers, so it does sound in lie with getting some teeth removed. Enantyum is reported to contain the active ingredient Dexketoprofen, which is also an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), in the same class of medications as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen. From what you are saying it sounds to me like your dentist is only recommending over the counter medications. As long as you follow the instructions on the package you should be fine. If the pain does not go away after a couple days let them know, since they would need to check for an infection and/or prescribe a stronger pain medication. I hope this helps & good luck!
