What pharmacy carries oxymorphone 20 mg IR, around the Buffalo NY area? Walgreens, Rite Aid and Tops don't carry them and can't order them. Please help. ## I live in Florida, in the Pensacola, Navarre, Fort Walton area and I am looking for a pharmacy that carries Oxymorphone IR 10 mg. What pharmacies have them in stock? ## Is Oxymorphone IR still available? I'm having trouble with the pharmacy that I have been filling with for years all of a sudden saying they are unable to supply my Rx.
2 REPLIES UpdatedIs it just me or is all the pain management docs trying to cut everyone down or back!!?? When I went to my last visit the doc had the nerve to ask me if I still needed my Oxymorphone 20mg ER (56). I was like YEAH, what do you think?! This is after they closed down for 3 months and I had to switch to Subutex to not get sick. And I got dropped from the 30mg oxymorphone. And by the way the 20'mgs are garbage. Then my doc asked me to get an MRI on my lower back, which I did the month prior. It just goes to show what a dumb ass he is and how they're so not in tune to what is going on! All they want to do is lower and lower your meds. Has anyone else had their doc try and taper them down or try and lower your stuff? By the way, I'm in south FL. ## Yes,I live on the east coast and ...
195 REPLIES UpdatedShow pictures of Oxymorphone imprinted with cresent on one side of tablet & numbers on reverse ## I just got my prescription filled. I get both oxymorphone er 20 mg and oxymorphone er 40 mg. This is what they look like. As you can see they have more binder than an equivalent global pharma er 20 mg. I placed a global pharma er 40 on the other size for a reference. I have not taken one yet but have been very happy with global pharmaceutical. I don't see how anyone could benefit from having more inert powder. ## The crescent logo is used by Actavis Pharmaceuticals, and they use it on several different doses of Oxymorphone, as well as on some other medications. Their 20mg Oxymorphone ER is a round, tan tablet with the logo on one side, and the numbers 229 on the other NDC:00228-3229...
2 REPLIES UpdatedSo I've been in pain management for 10 plus yrs. I never liked the morphine sulfate ER except for the 100mg pills witch are nearly impossible to get prescribed. They worked great. I've usually been on Oxycontin 30mg or 20's. Although I've found the 60's and 80's work best. And about 4-5 yrs ago I got started on Oxymorphone 30mg. The ones made by Actavis were by far the best thing out there. Then they stopped making them and the only generic made is by Global. Now these 30mg are not bad at all, and are by far the best thing out there as of now. But my doc made it his business to drop me down to the 20mg, and when I say these are garbage, they are garbage. It takes 3-4 20mg to get the effect of one 30mg. I've mentioned something to my doc at least 3 different t...
1 REPLY UpdatedI'm taking oxymorphone 20mg ER. I used to take the 30's which worked wonders. Now my msil in pharmacy is not filling for this anymore. So my question is what new opioids are equivalent to my oxymorphone? Exalgo, Morphabond, Methadone, Fentanyl, Demerol, Nucynta or Fentanyl? Anyone taking any of these I'd like your opinion. I really don't want to change meds but..... ## There really is no best opioid that anyone can recommend, since it can vary from person to person. We are all different, so what works well for someone else may not work at all for you, and vice-versa. Most opioids carry the risk of being habit forming, and causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Fentanyl is the strongest you can get for use outside of a monitored healt...
26 REPLIES UpdatedLooking for a good new pain clinic that will prescribe me my medication (oxymorphone 30mg ER) and (oxycodone 30mg) ...I've lost my job over medical problems.I'm in process filing my SDI benefits.. But I still need my medication to be able to live and have a comfortable life..I have 2 small girls that I do everything I can for them but I just can't do the everyday normal life when Im miserable in PAIN..I have all records and MRI s just need a dr. From Nashville to Jackson,TN area. Plz any help would be greatly appreciative.. ## Sounds like we are in the same boat around here! My pain dr stopped taking my insurance last month. He was awesome. I'm really afraid I won't find someone that will keep me on my meds that have taken a year to find the combo that works. Good lu...
5 REPLIES UpdatedThere is some crazy mfgr shortage. Doc wont raise me up to 40s. Been on these things for a few years. Im really starting to get ticked off now. All pharmacys were out last month. And now still out. WTF? ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? I'm sorry that you're having a problem getting your medication. Yes, there is a shortage and it is normal for this time of year, due to mandatory manufacturing limits. Once a manufacturer reaches their allotted limit for the year, they cannot manufacture any new product, until after the new year. Every year, demand inevitably exceeds supply and we end up with shortages for the last few months of the year. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mo...
26 REPLIES UpdatedI had been on 10 mg oxymorphone for 2 years due to 6 failed lower lumbar back surgeries and 2 neck surgeries, one which left me with a cage and disc replacements. The tightness and pain I feel daily is excruciating. I am 55 years old and can barely get out of bed each morning. So when the laws changed recently on the mg of opioids allowed daily (under 200mg) it changed my life. The doctor prescribed a smaller dose to meet the criteria. So I was on oxymorhpone 10 mg from global pharm with no problems for 2 years. 2 days ago when I started the 5 mg oxymorphone from Aurobindo (Aurolife) pharm manufacturer from India, I have been sick with stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and a headache. I didn’t take it for 7 hours and realized that I felt a little better as the hours went by but as s...
20 REPLIES UpdatedSometimes the morphine 30mg doesn't last as long so I've been going going back and forth between that and the oxymorphone 10mg. I was jus wondering because. I am usually on 60mg 3x a day. So jus thought I'd see if anyone knows. ## Hello, Lovely! How are you? The dosages that you mentioned are equivalent. Each 30mgs of Morphine is equal to 10mgs of Oxymorphone. So, if you usually take 60mgs of Morphine per dose, you'd need 20mgs of the Oxymorphone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## That’s not true, oxymorphone is 10x stronger than morphine so 10mg oxymorphone or...
2 REPLIES UpdatedMy best friend is trying to go to a weaker medicine but we're not as educated as we wish we were. Which one is stronger, xtampza er or zohydro 40 mg? ## The Xtampza ER is stronger, it contains Oxycodone, 6.7mgs of it is equivalent to 10mgs of the Hydrocodone in the Zohydro. The FDA warns that both medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. What medication(s) is he currently taking?
1 REPLY UpdatedCan anyone please help. I am going through transitioning doctors and Insurances. Currently no Insurance. long story short I am having to pay for my prescription of 120 Oxymorphone er 40mg. Yet the lowest I can find is still around $600 !!! With discount card. Yikes!! My research has found there are NO programs available. I have found Discount cards, but nothing substantial. Does anyone have a good lead? I'm grateful I am down to a single pain med. But financially its straining. ## I know exactly how you feel because I've been in the very same situation. That certainly is a ridiculous price. Honestly, the best option is to consider discussing with your pain doctor the possibility of switching to a different pain medication once you get settled with a new doctor because there are ...
9 REPLIES UpdatedI have to find a new pain mgmt Dr asap, my last pain mgmt group stopped taking my insurance last month. Any info on pain mgmt drs in nashville (smyrna, murfreesboro, etc...) or the surrounding cities that will keep me on my current meds? It's taken a year to find the right combo, to control my pain and let me live a semi-normal life. And I know many drs are scared to write for the oxymorphone hcl er. Thank you! I really appreciate any help! ## Have you found a good pain mgmt in the Nashville area? My current ofc (C.P.S.) just notified me of their closing. They gave me 1 extra month of scripts but no referral or idea of where to go. I currently am on 160mme. Can anyone recommend a pain management doctor in mid-Tennessee? Any help is much appreciated.
1 REPLY Updated## My insurance is running out. Are there discount programs for oxymorphone? ## Oxymorphone is still being made. They pulled the brand because it's easily abused. ## Both the brand name (Opana) and the generic are still available. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Tucker, I am sorry, but discount programs are rarely offered for controlled substances, especially once they are available as generics, since by their very nature, they are already cheaper. Some companies occasionally offer them, but it is not a common thing, and even then, they only offer them, until the generic becomes available. Have you asked your doctor about trying a cheaper alternat...
3 REPLIES UpdatedI have been on the generic oxymorhpone for years and never had a problem getting it where I am from. However now that I am in New York City pharmacies say that they are unable to order it. It's always hard to tell if they legitimately cannot order it or they just don't want to deal with another pain patient. Can anyone recommend pharmacies to me? Brooklyn or Manhattan preferred. ## Helly Bkh, I don't live in NYC so I won't be able to give you a list of specific pharmacies but I can give you some tips on how to handle this situation. It always saves a lot of time to call the pharmacies instead of going to the physical location, more often than not they will tell you over the phone if they carry the brand you're looking for and if not if they have policies in place to ...

100 REPLIES UpdatedNeed help finding a pharmacy in Las Vegas or Henderson that has Oxymorphone Er 40mgs ## @Scar if you know of a pharm that does, could you share as to who/where please and was 'prior authorization' required? Was switched to it today (first time) and struck out at each stop. Mine is for the generic & I have Medicaid. Thank you very much. ## Did you guys have any luck? I'm in Vegas as well and I'm curious a to how much you had to pay out of pocket. If any. ## Hi. I was wondering if you still take the generic opana ## Cvs inside Target Grand Canyon blvd they have oxymorphobe 40mg er ## Thanks for the info. I am able to find them and get them filled. My issue was the cost for me. I'm assuming your insurance covers the cost? I am hoping my insurance will soon as they g...
12 REPLIES UpdatedFor many yrs I was prescribed oxymorophone 30 mg 5 pills 2 times a day with hydromorphone as break through med. in last two yrs since my PM dr was closed by uncontrolled DEA I’ve not been able to get my medical records proving a world of alternatives I tried. I’m now only offered all same non opioid alternatives that failed me. I’d rather die than go through my last 20 yrs on that at age 63 than spend those yrs retrying all the non opioid alternatives that I have already tried. All I have are Pharmacy records that pain management dr only see me as a drug abuser. What happened to the relationship of dr/patient? It’s government dr patient. Im a 63 yr old NJ chronic pain patient who has had no opioids for 2 long yrs, no medical records. Hasn’t slept more than ...
1 REPLY UpdatedI have bad anxiety and I take both Oxymorphone HCL 5mg as well as Oxymorphone HCL 10mg ER painkillers. I take 5 Oxymorphone hcl 5mg pills a day for breakthrough pain and Oxymorphone HCL 10mg ER twice a day. I also take 5 mgs of Valium once a day. Is that ok if I spread everything out? ## Hi Lisa, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), taking Oxymorphone with Valium is generally not recommended and may cause problems with your breathing. Because the potential for interaction is reportedly very high, they encourage patients to contact their doctor about adjusting the dose and/or frequency of dosing to help mitigate possible risk factors. Oxymorphone is said to have an estimated half life of 8 hours. So spreading things out sounds to me li...
1 REPLY UpdatedHi, Since I heard that Impax finally got the green light to distribute Oxymorphone ER (Opana ER) generic through Global Pharmacy. I didn't hesitate to rush to my PM doc and he instantly had me switch to this new drug. He prescribed me 40 mg twice per day to treat my busted back & fibromyalgia. I noticed the pill is round in shape with G74 on one side with nothing on the other. The color for the 40 mg ER tablet is an orangy/gold color. Ever since Endo ruined their product with the new TRF formulation. I promised myself to jump back on the bandwagon as soon as the generics were released. Today is a great day for all who suffer chronic pain. Yay! 8-) Moon ## I am very glad that it's helping you so well. Yes, the generics are available now, but it may be a bit before they can ea...
230 REPLIES UpdatedThe main thing that all of us pain patients need is relief for me at least. I started pain meds in 1998 after neck surgery and have taken alot of different kinds. The oxymorphone 40mg is only 1 i can take when i wake and not need another til next day. They r perfect, im able to funtion like an normal man ## This is available as both a name brand, and a generic. What are the markings on the tablets you are taking? The FDA warns that Oxymorphone carries the risk of being of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as headache, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and nausea.
