Oxymorphone Availability And Discount Programs
Updated3 Replies
My insurance is running out. Are there discount programs for oxymorphone?
Oxymorphone is still being made. They pulled the brand because it's easily abused.
Both the brand name (Opana) and the generic are still available. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
Tucker, I am sorry, but discount programs are rarely offered for controlled substances, especially once they are available as generics, since by their very nature, they are already cheaper. Some companies occasionally offer them, but it is not a common thing, and even then, they only offer them, until the generic becomes available.
Have you asked your doctor about trying a cheaper alternative? Or maybe seeing if your state has a discount program that might help?
Another option would be to look into a mail order pharmacy.
