By the way, the he is a she.and I am not a pharmacologist, just a polymer (plastics) chemist and was familiar with some of the mentioned ingredients and the fact that they weren't toxic. I AM saying by personal experience that I didn't notice any difference, but I probably take a rather low dose compared to maybe most of you. 20mg 3x's/day.

I typed somethings in to do #40 below your asking Maw Maw, You might also want to start a daily log of the problems you experience along with how your Doctor is handling this growing problem. They are all hand in hand. I'm hoping that another class action suit grows because Purdues last one they lost cost them over the 600 million mark and thats just from the complaints of abusing the drug, which all this does happen but now its affecting those who can't keep the pill down and I'm not recieveing the amount needed to relieve the pain. But its this flem looking yuk that is coming up with whats left in my stomach and I'm experiencing large like pimples but their not, under my arms I've got large knot in the arm pit. can't sleep, eat, run from pain. Now they want me to try Opana Here's another drug with more goop and I'm the Lab Rat. So while the Doctors do everything, I will put it down in a log until I've had enough , everything they all are putting me threw. From the top group to all who have followed behind to the music, that are hurting not only myself but all others instead of protecting and helping us. Please forgive of my typying. I was told by a chemist from Purdue that the only thing that was added was Polyethylene Oxide If any other thing has been added please tell me and others too! They are very able to keep secrets. Which brought on the first biggest law suit against Purdue.

MawMaw I wish GOD would give me what's wrong with you. You sound like you have a loving family that loves you too and have so much to live for. (I'm sorry, I'm crying) I honestly don't even want to keep living anymore. My companion of 17 years was killed, his daughter threw me back into a house that's being foreclosed on, my companion and his Attorney committed Real Eastate Fraud in my name (why not, I'm on Social Security) of 1.5 mil and the State of CT, even having the 'proof' I wasn't involved and now who was, are going to keep making me pay until I'm 70 and giving me no benefits, being forced to live on $707. a mo and $160. Food Stamps. I was assaulted by 2 people and the State Police did nothing as I was a 'prisoner' in my room as they took over my home, then when I got rid of them through a restraining order (mid-stream of moving with my companion to what was to be someday my 'HOME' after he passed of natural causes, we let my sister move in and her Fiance, some guy and people in the basement. Again drugs. I literally ended up living in a 10x12 room with a cold attaic/storage area for my things and as my kitchen. My sister verbally abused me dailey calling me the 'Devil', her Fiance punched my in the throat because I dared to leave my room. I tried to stand up for myself but the abuse got worse. My dog was so effected by it and with my voice change, she has been so traumatised that I'm going to have to put her down (my sisters dogs attacked her when she left my room by a hole I cut through the door for them. The State Police again did nothing except treat 'me' like the criminal. Then when I'm finally about to do the final move to be with my companion, I find him shot in the head. Suffocated and shot, no bullet found and no investigation. My parents say I need help, belong in a hospital because I was to blame for kicking my sister out (she's on crack now, the coke I guess wasn't enough. I tried to do an intervention with my Mom in NC but I'm the 'Story Teller', the 'Liar'.
So I sit in this big house, destroyed by them, haunted by the memories of the Police drawing their guns on me by what my sister said, afraid to have doors closed now. A female Officer that has so much hatred for me for who knows why, pounds on my steal door putting a dent in it from her flashlight and when I open my door she's 15 feet away with the look of wanting to kick my ars and all because someone from a tag sale I tried to do touched the stone wall the neighbor things is his. She came after me too when someone stole his marigolds and said I did it, even though I couldn't walk then.
No one in the State will help me, no one in my family, I tried to 'date' again but the man walked off with $8,500. (Cops do s**t), I went to prison from the first people that lived here over a year ago because they never came to get their property and the owner was dead so went after me. I already am cursed with PTSD and with what happened this last year and now the Oxy OP crap...
I pray I could take your illness because I can't survive in this world. I had my Rights taken from me as a person, my Civil Rights, my Liberties, Rights for Protection by the Police, my Rights in Court.. no one will help me and I refuse to live on the street. So please GOD, give me MawMaw's illness... let me take her pain... give me everyone's pains and take me instead... I have no meaning here anymore... (amen)

You go Diane, I have waited all day to see a response like yours. We will stick together on this issue and get some answers soon. I have already heard from the FDA and they have already set up a Web site, I think its called MedWatch so we can go to an official Web page directly linked with FDA and not have to put up with such abuse as with the post that I will not even acknowledge, and maybe be heard by real people involved and who will not make false claims, as on this web site, so since that post is still up after both of us reported it as abuse and have not even had the Modeator or whoever answers some questions when asked, we can leave this site and not promote it, doesn't that sound good? At least being on a secure WebSite as FDA provided to me and I to all on here, come on over and not be abused as on this page. Don't even trust them now as if given the fact that they claim this is a secure site for us but from the person, what ikris?, don't even remember, because her post is not worth my time nor will I waist my time on this page, well unless I hear something from the owner or read a post soon, bye bye here and on to MedWatch run by the FDA. Thanks again Diane, I have terminal cancer and do wish we all get answers, at least b4 I die. I am staying possitive tho, and have Faith in God and my Onc, so keep praying as I will also, especially for the one who has Judge us and has no idea who we are. Since when did we lose our 'freedom of speech'? Everyone in here have valid concern's over the new formula of oxycontin..these are people who are suffering greatly and many have a death sentance they are living under. I have been reading thousand's and thousand's of complaint's over the new oxycontin..purdue can not ignore this ..and if they are actually going after those with serious questions about the effectiveness of the op's and red flagging them..they will not know what hit them as they get so many law suit's for slander. Purue has an awful lot of money invested in this new formula..if they beleive to silence the critic's they will fall ..as no one will be buying their drug's. I am so sick with the insanity over this new formula that i will turn to another pharmacentical for my need's. I also reported you.. you if you redflagged us and gave our names out..have violated a law and have committed a serious offense as well as sounding like a complete rearend of a donkey.

The new Oxycontin OPcontains no Narcan, inactive ingredients in all strengths: butylated hydroxytoluen (BHT), hypromellose, polyethylene glycol 400, polyethylene oxide, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, not sure what the removal of Narcan does to the pain killing properties. The makers say it is not abuse proof even in its current form. At this time, generic form is no longer being made due to Legal Issues. Likely no more generic versions until April 2013, when the patent for brand name is set to expire. Due to the fact of so many complaints, not just this site, private ones as well, there is evidence that there is a difference in pain relieving and the time it takes effect. These changes also due to abuse and too bad because this was an excellent drug for Cancer Pain, or at least it was, the question is what to do now????

I am not a hater, but did hit report abuse for your post. First of all you are saying you have alerted Drs and DEA providing our names and given them material to work with, flaged all as drug addicts and made claims that are FALSE, and if you think you know we are all abusers and have no jobs, well I for one was assured my identity would in no way be able to get, that would have been abusing this site in an illegal manner since this web site claims they don't even know us. If you think you are an expert by knowing all about Oxycontin, please tell me how you are so sure nothing has changed except, for those abusers, NOT ME, they can't snort or shoot this drug. I would love to hear how you got your information to make such abusive claims as you have, and you can't take it back because its already saved, even if found abusive, as it was for me. This web site will take your post off. To tell people there is no difference and say we are all abusers is very ingnorant on your part, because you don't know anything about me and what I do, if you did you would have not made such claims for all post, including mine, because there is a difference in this drug, it is very important to not make claims like you have because some need to talk to there Drs and get a higher dose to control their pain as this new drug has less effect on your pain and takes longer to release in your system which in turn would make you more likely to think more is wrong because pain still there, maybe not as bad, and maybe something else going on with new ingredients in this new OP version. I personally am going to still take mine but will have my doctor increase my breakthru meds because contrary to your claim it is different and in your claim, which is false, would lead others to believe and not alert their Dr, that could harm them, and I myself have proof that this drug is not as effective and takes more time to take effect on pain and I am not happy!!!!! I am not an abuser and you do not know me to claim such as this much less send our names so we all will be flaged, where are you coming from? This is a web site for dicussion, not false claims that all are abusers and have no jobs, but most important that this drug is the same. Hey how do you know this drug turns to glue or whatever you say it does if you try to abuse it? basically they are doin the same thing to the oc`s as they did to methylphenidate ( crushable snortable ritalin is now uncrushable unsnortable lactate containing concerta) :( all good things come to an end most likely they have added a irritant and or lactate so they will most likely clump when crushed!

I also am facing this. Call the FDA ask to send forms and give them hell. As for Purdue, they seemed to have lost a class action law suit of over 640 Million$ and here's our chance to hit them again. The added in active ingredent is Polyethylene Oxide and well it can be done with little or no testing, maybe! But its time to hit all involved. Its the binders that are the problem and your Doctor knows this. So do the, everyone from the top down, have their nose in this.
call the FDA and get the forms from them fill them out and send them. Tell your local news, your paper, and tell everyone on the internet. keep a log of ever day your being used as a LAB RAT. Even how your doctor handles your case and pain. Expose them all. If this does go to a class action suit, well we can flood them with data. Best way to drop them to their knees. Go on line to the FDA get your forms sent ,I have.

anna-any misspelled words are just from typing too quickly with my crappy laptop keyboard that sticks on certain letters sometimes. Which ingredient did you think was a carcinogen? Look up the MSDS for it and it will tell you the health risks, if any, for the chemical. again sometimes chemicals can take on totally different properties when compounded with others so it would be hard to tell from an ingredients list that something is carcinogenic or not. Sorry about the tone. My personal experiences with oxycontin, some recently tragic, with people and family have cut close to my heart. I've had family members who know I take it try to get some from me when they run out by threating to call my workplace or my kids coaches, etc. All because I take mine the way I am supposed to and I won't play their game.

Diane, thank you for your Prayers, I do need as much help as can get. Yours and Kimberlys reply at least has calmed me down and don't feel so stressed because I know someone is listening and may get some real help. Even if they do not go back to OC, it was not and still not right the way the FDA snuck up on us with no warning, knowing we would be getting these OPs and I fully believe they did that because they do not work as fast or as good for our pain. Why where we not warned, just in case of allergic reactions and many other reasons I am still looking into. As long as we stick together, not listen to the addicts complaining and trying to accuse us of same, well the accusation in itself, the old saying u accuse someone, u usually one doing it. Kimberly thank u for the info on ingredient Polyethylene Glycol, I am taking this occasional for constipation, Dr. Prescribes, says on bottle Polyethylene Glycol 3350 NF take 17grams, taking more, toxic side effects. So here's another thing, its the allergic reaction and using for more than 2 wks worries me, but will ask Oncologist. I just want to know, also, why we were not notified of this change? I mean if someone did not post here about a lot of things we would not know and not know what is going on with this medicine. Well I will die finding out, that's for sure. Someone is causing the ones who are in so much pain, like us, and take like we should to still be in PAIN. I wish Mr. Chemist could live one day in my shoes, he would not contend that these are the same and work the same, THEY DON'T. I'm a dieing and would not lie, I am headed for Home in Heaven, so when I say I'm still in pain, side effects are there and all for who or what, a drug dealer or addict. By the way, I've turned in many myself, I shut down a crack house and a friend of my close, close best friend overdosed years ago because no one would believe she need help and was in real pain. I may be jumping around a bit, but so excited, got so much want to say, cause I smell a rat, and I am in pain right now and I take 80mg 3 times day w/breakthru, and for 3 weeks now, in misery. I have also not been this sick on stomach even with Chemo every week than I am with change. The reason I can blaim OPs that is all that has changed these past weeks. Kimberly I read that when taking polyethylene glycol that u would not see full results for TWO weeks, so if that's an additive in OPs, looks like that in itself would prove med would be less in strength and in time release slower, right? Anyway, let's hang in there, write, call and hope for the best. I don't see my Dr for 3 weeks, so don't know what he will suggest. Hope not Morphine, that's for when I'm in Hospice and in bad shape. Might not be that long either, this stress over so much no real pain relief, took that away from me, now what will I go thru trying other meds, what's Medicade gonna say, oh well that's the world we live in. I will also tell u another change I've noticed, breaking out all over, more nausea, this week so bad, they had to give me a shot before Chemo this week. Can't wait to see what my Dr has to say and if he was alerted of this change, since I was not, just in case of allergic reaction with what Chemos I am taking, did the 2 year test include me? Or did that not matter, dying anyway. Well I'm am going to go take my OP, the right way and another sleepless night, but who cares? Sorry not some of u. Will Pray for the TRUTH to be known, and come out, and it will, might come into some money, huh? LOL. I'd give all the money in the world to not be in the shape I am in and be playing with my grandson like a MawMaw should. Pray for me and wish FDA would have used that money for me a cure. What is your problem bunch of liars? For a chemist and by nature a scientist which you say you are nothing should off the table... like you are stating they are exactly the same, for you... They may fuction exactly the same in you but in me and others they are not the same. They feel totally different, my stomach is crampy and they don't seem to work as well. I do not abuse them I do not snort them or chew them or abuse them in any fashion, I take them exactly as directed and have for 4 years. I have CP syndrome, Multiple sclerosis, Myofacial pain syndrome, acute spasms where I can't move my legs or bend my neck without pain control and before they were helping me live and now they don't seem the same. Where is all of the anger from bunch of liars? We are here to share our problems so as not to feel so alone in the world and someone like you gets involved and derails the whole conversation. And I doubt you are a true chemist/scientist and if you are you were probably fired for being a nasty person with a disgusting personality whom nobody can work with. I would not be surprised if you are divorced twice with 2 kids that hate you. I feel bad for you. People here are just trying to get advice and get to the bottom of their problems not to get stomped on by a nasty person like you. I hope these OP pills continue to work well for you and I am truly happy for you if they do/are. If you are a chemist I have a suggestion for you, try to find a solution to the issue that the people who ARE having problems with the OP version and tell Purdue about it. You could make a fortune. To all whom are having problems w/ the new OP version, like me, I am so sorry, I am having the stomach cramping, bad taste, burping/gas and nausea too and there has got to be a reason for it.. I have never and would never abuse these pills, ever, they have been an extremely useful tool but it seems that that time has ended because these things firstly don't kick in for 2 hours following ingestion and for that two hours I feel sick as a dog and even after 6 hours. Something is not right and now I know it is not just me. Take care.

I just read an interesting article by a mom whose son had developed serious health problems after using the laxitive ..miralax.. the main ingrediante in miralax is POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG) PEG is an agent found in most skin cleanser's, is a caustic used to dissovle grease-the same substance you find in oven cleaner. The literature on PEG states that it is nephrotoxic if absorbed by the body. That means it's toxic to the kidney's. (the current fda studies has said PEG has low toxicity) there is a great contraditon. Other reports concerning PEG toxicity in rabbit's- they all died of renal failure. First to the person #24 who has terminal cancer... I pray for you and I'm so sorry for your illness.
Second, after 4 days of being constipated, I checked my stools... the whole oxys I took went through, the ones I cut hoping the medication would work that way and be released, went through. I now understand why I've still been in pain. My Doctor told me to give the remaining to her and she'll give me Morphine instead or the Lidoderm patch. I guess she doesn't read my chart since I'm allergic to Morphine and that patch literally was eating my skin away and left permanent bruising.
I get so mad at this person I know that get 40's x2 a day and turns around and sells them! She used to be on something else but found out the Oxy's were worth more on the street. I don't know how she did it but she's been getting them for 2-3 years now and each time I hear she sold them (my own sister used to abuse them until she went to coke then crack. I have no sympathy for her or her fiance or what will happen to them. I tried the 'Intervention' but my parents and my sis put 'me' in the hospital! I told my Mom 'I tried to help her but you all refuse to listen to me' As for that woman... her APRN (also mine) never did a thing to her but 'increase' her dose! When I heard she sold them I told the APRN right away and said 'just ask for her meds to count them' for over a year she believed 'every' excuse! People like 'this' are the very ones causing the problems for 'us'. 3 months in a row she was called to bring her meds in and would only have 5 left or none and the APRN 'still' does nothing! People like this are also the problem. 'Knowing' the abuse and 'letting it slide'.
I have to pack due to going homeless so I'm taking what ever relief I can get at this point with the OP's but 'am' calling that # you gave for the FDA to put in a complaint and also turning in the APRN since she also 'deals' for my sister. If they want to spend money on something, why not do something to cure #24's cancer? Where I live, the next town over is the drug town, I had dealers right under my window and a Police car on the next corner! It's insane to even 'think' changing the Oxy is going to change 'anything! I was assaulted by 3 people standing up to them for drug abuse in my home but got them out all the same. Loosing my voice was worth it to me knowing the kids in this neighborhood won't be subjected to these people.
I hope Purdue wakes up and brings the reg OC back. It 'helped' more people. I used to be afraid I'd get addicted to the OC, 'all' drugs scare me because I see what they do to others. The only thing I'll sniff are flowers and nasel drops up my nose (I heard that's addicted too but what isn't?)
I tried to fight the war on drugs and lost many times and have the battle scars to prove it. Just because Purdue is a big corporation doesn't mean 'they' can.
Talking about 'Purdue', I have to get my chicken in the oven and make that call to the FDA.

Ok. here is the new ingrediant in new formula oxycontin.polyethylene glycol.. polyethylene glycol is used in the laxitive miralax..the side effect's are 'bloating..cramps gas nausea. I don't know if the warning to not take this for more than two week's is because of the dependancy in using a laxitive or if it means polyethylene glycol can be toxic if used for more than 2 weeks. hmm..guess we better find out.

'do something' your correct in telling us all to call..write not just accept this without reassuring answer's. I think 'bunch of lier's the chemist' was either perhap's one of 2 thing's..a guy/women who had nothing better to do but to ridicule..demean..threaten and just try and make someone's day bad OR and this is very very far fetched..he/she is a plant meant to not educate those who have honest inquires but threaten..demean..ridicule..show contempt as way of keeping us quiet and not to ask question's. Either one is not acceptable.

Hey Anna tell the Chemist to put it on paper, in writing right here, as a matter of fact, that as a chemist, you would stand up and defend this change and also put in wrting that this change has in no way changed the way this drug works on pain as did the OC. Can he do that? I want to read that response! What about it?? Will you assure us??
