Ty MARK I appreciate it I did try the stimulater its like a tens unit but inside your body so I didn't get it instead I have 2 tens units with extra leads that turn 4 to 8 patches I put it on my leg mainly & also my back but my leg needs it more I hear you about the meds & your stimulater I am the same with the tens units its funny the meds the tens units or stimulater ect all help but even with everything we still suffer nothing helps 100% we just do what we can I have good & bad days the good is im still in pain but from being in pain so long I can tolerate it but the spikes there is nothing that can help they also wanted to put a pump inside me were every month they would have to refill it with a needle thru my skin its like 3 inches round & sticks out of your skin thank God I didn't get it cause I found out after about a month later that no one really refills them & they are going to be obsolete & you can't be near machines or it can mess the timing up im glad that the stimulater works for you but I know how you feel nothing takes away all the pain it sucks they are so advanced in medicine and procedures that they can't help us I wish you the best my friend life is hard enough without going thru what we do & no one understands they get hurt its ok for them to complain but they get better so they forget what its like anyway ty again I appreciate it its nice bot meaning wishing what we go thru on anyone but its nice to have people to talk to who understand us have a great day

there is no doubt that they are discriminating against long term patients stereotyping against the legitimate pain patients It takes more work to separate the ones getting high and the ones just trying to stay out of pain

Percocet? That is not a good alternative. Your doctor has you conned. Best friend is your pharmacist they know hell of slit more. When my doctor prescribed diner hung I always talk talk to my pharmacist before I fill my script. Most doctors mean well but when it comes to meds they know just Enuff usually. But per Oder that's like candy. I've been on many different pain meds and what finally worked is I take 3 80 mg oxycontin, 75 mcg fentanyl patch and 15 mg oxycondone. Some pain meds will work great on one part of your body and do nothing for other. Part where pAin is. That's why they have me take what I do. Think of this their so worried of those that Are addicted to stopping them while those of us really need !!!! What adds insult to injury look at the states are now making marajuna legal. Go figure!! Doctors. Are so worried about the dea they are too cautious and that Is interfering with patients being treated. Maybe all of us with our pain problems march on Washington !!! Obamacare screwed most if us. Our government needs to go back and do what their hired to do and that is to govern not to dictate !!!!

How?, does he contact the Chemist or does he give em out direct.. How can I see him, I'm based in western Sydney. My current prescription is for 80mg tds (3 per day) I strongly recommend the OC vs OP for pain relief.

Drink lots and lots of water....it really helps!!

Austin is right about drinking lots of water while taking the OP formulation. I can tell a huge difference in the way they work and the length of time they work when I drink extra water throughout the day. I'm not talking about drowning yourself, but in your awake hours drink 12+ glasses of water or so. You'll figure out how much extra water you need to do the job. I'm glad Austin said something about drinking extra water on this OP formulation because it's rarely discussed and important due to the way Purdue Pharmaceutical made these OP pH dependent and the extra water does help it to dissolve better over its lifespan.

Hi, I have been on OC's 80mg for a very very long time for pain relief due to cancer & open heart surgury, ( they made a mess of me)...I am in disabling severe pain approx 75% of the time. Is it possible you could tell me which doctor could order them for me & he or she could send them to my Dr or pharmacist. These new ones do not work as well & takes approx 3-4 hrs to work. Thats why I was wondering if anyone has tried Zohydro ER.?

That Zohydro ER max dose is 50mg which is approximately 62.5% of the Oxycontin 80mg dose. You wouldn't get anywhere near the same pain relief. Your doctor should be prescribing instant release pain medication for the breakthrough pain the OP formulation causes by taking so long to work. Mine does and so do most other doctors too. I'm currently taking 30mg Roxicodone for the breakthrough pain. From what I've heard from my doctor, Purdue Pharmaceutical is working on another Oxycontin formulation, but he had no idea when it would release or if it would once again have an instant release component. I'm betting it will release before the current patent runs out... The OC formulation has an instant release component the OP formulation doesn't have. I know of no where in North America that still has the OC formulation due to the DEA restrictions. If the OP formulation is really that bad controlling your pain try MS Contin, extended release Hydromorphone or extended release Oxymorphone. With opiates what works for one person's pain well may not work on yours as well. Hopefully you have a doctor that will work with you to find the best drug combination to help your pain situation. Good Luck!

Everyone living in Sydney Australia there are new Generic Oxycontin's from Sandoz brand only available at chemist warehouse SurryHills, Darlinghurst, Newtown and Maroubra or you can order from there website. There are much better than the reformulated OP bulls*** that gives you stomach and headaches, and yes they are like the original oc's only difference is that they have an oily residue in powder. Message back if anyone knows how to get other brands or sources. Cheers

WSPAat do you guys find to be the best combination on the slow release along with the immediate release pain meds. I take 30mg OContin along with the 15mg IR oxycone.......neither really helps.... i. Usually just lie in bed praying for some kind of relief!!!! Also does anyone else get sick in their upper rt. Quadrant (in front of their liver from being constipated? ? I take this liquid called lactulose which often helps move it through. ....man...the bottom line is i just want to feel normal or comfortable again before I leave this earth!!! Im so tired of going to my pain management Dr. And getting my 2 Rx's and then heading off on a wild goose chase to find a pharmacy that actually carries them in stock. Every month i start to worry that i wont find it and end up in withdrawal! ! This last month i was going to try zohydro er, the Dr,'S assist. Wrote it for #60 2 x a day (when i had been on 30mg oxycontin 3 x day....which was a big cut in the amount (he tried to tell me that zohydro er lasts for 24 hrs!!! When i knew for a fact it was only 12 hrs.....so i left feeling even more screwed than normal.....i.spent the next 3 hours trying to find a pharmacy that actually carries them and couldn't! !!!! By now im in withdrawal and i called zogenix, the company that manufacturers it and they have a service th at calls within about a 10 mile radius of my home to try and find it. So I got home feeling horrible and got I got into bed praying they would call me....3 hours later they call me saying they CANT FIND ANYONE WHO CARRIES IT ( what am i a lab rat? So now im in full withdrawall and it was too late to go back to the dr!!!) So i suffer all night in horrible withdrawal..... and because im the so sick i had to call a taxi to drive me back to this jacka** dr.'s assistant to exchange my prescription for the 30mg oxycontin. ........then i had to drive very around in a taxi feeling as if im going to barf!!!! Five pharmacies later i found them....now im a pretty tough guy who played football game for 17 seasons and i almost broke down right there and cried!!!! The sad part about this isb that im sure this kind of thing happens all over our country EVERY SINGLE DAY TO HONEST HARDWORKING GOOD GOD FEARING PEOPLE. And the ones who cause it are the drug addicts and the clueless panty waste politicians who pass laws to make it impossible for us to just make a simple drive to our local pharmacy! !!! Am i going in sane? Because it sure feels like it. I think im gonna have a good cry now!!! If, by the way, someone knows of a pharmacy in the Newport Beach, So. Cal California area who usually carries 30mg oc please let me know... in fact let me know if you have ANY ideas that could make my monthly experience a little bit easier, I would appreciate it so much!! :) God bless all of you who struggle with pain like I do, maybe one of us could write a letter to whoever is in power and share some of these sad but true stories. Fight on!!

let's be honest and clear here. Purdue pharmaceuticals did not reformulate the drug oxycontin / oxycodone because people were abusing it. Purdue pharmaceuticals patent was about to run out in 2010 and in order for Purdue to renew their patent they reformulated the drug so that they could continue to keep the monopoly they have over this medication. They made the medication tamper proof so that they could say we reformulated this because people were abusing the medicine when in reality the truth is they reformulated the medicine so they could continue to keep a stranglehold monopoly over the medication, don't let them fool you into thinking they ever cared about anyone abusing it they care only about continuing to ensure the billions of dollars that oxycontin brings in every year continue's, they do not care about my pain and they do not care about your pain if they did they would not have reformulated this medication and they would have allowed generics to come into play but that would cut their profits down by more than half which is unacceptable to Big Pharma. In closing I would like to say Purdue did not reformulate the medication oxycontin because people were abusing it and dying from it they reformulated the drug oxycontin so they could renew their patent and continue the stranglehold monopoly that the FDA has given them over this drug and continue to rake in billions of dollars every year not caring one bit that this new medication is only half as effective and good people in honest pain are suffering every single day. Purdue pharmaceuticals should be ashamed of themselves and ashamed of their false claims of actually giving a s*** about anyone or anything except lining their own pockets with billions of dollars which is why they reformulated the drug so they could continue to line their own pockets and continue to have a monopoly over this medication. thank you wake up everyone they dont care about any of us. Goodluck to all who have honest chronic pain. thank you

Ttt I'm all ears bro.. Where is this magic chemist in sydney?

It's the generic Sandoz Brand. It's not tamper proof Or reformulated. Sandoz has rights to keep it that way for the next 7 years, so they will be around for a while. I've been getting it for the last 8 months. It's f***n great compared to OP oxycontin. I reckon they're better than the old OCs as well.

Hope this helps. Your dr and chemist should have told you about the Sandoz brand
