Oxycodone Pink K56 Round

I was taking lortab 10/500 blue with Watson 540 stamped on the pill, taking four a day. My pain has worsened. Dr changed my meds to Oxycodone 10mg it's very small (pink with k56 on the pill). What's the difference? Got me taking 1 every 4 to 6 hours and 180 a month. Is that ok? Or should I be worried?

Both of these medications are narcotics that are classified as controlled substances. Although they have similar side effects and drug interactions, they are different drugs. Oxycodone is generally considered to be more potent than Hydrocodone (although some people may find Hydrocodone to work better, due to individual differences in how people react to medications). It is also available as a single-ingredient medication or in combination with other active ingredients, while Hydrocodone only comes in combination products.

As far as doing goes, the usual starting dose using immediate release oxycodone tablets is 5 to 30 mg every 4 hours. Patients who have never received opioids should start with 5-15 mg every 4 to 6 hours. Some patients may require 30 mg or more every 4 hours. Based on this information, the dosing schedule you're currently on is considered normal.

I have been on 15MG Oxycodone for 6 months and have now been lowered to 10MG every 6 hours. I feel like I have anxiety since changing dosage. Is not helping pain but for a few hours. Is it normal to feel anxiety when taking Oxycodone?

Aloha, I've been in severe pain since I 1996. I tried all pain killers, with poor results. Finally found a dr who prescribed OxyContin. Went from 10 mg to 40 to 80 mg
With a pain specialist. Took 1 year but now I'm able to manage my pain with OxyContin. Some say you can't get addicted if your in pain. Bulls*** but I have lowered my level to half of what I was taking. Need a good pain management doc to help. Otherwise. It's guess work. Also. Expect to be treated like a criminal when you get the larger doses. You can thank the media for that

I have been on the same med and dosage for several years. It's a potent opiate based pain killer. It's quite addictive and withdrawal, which I've been through three times, can be very unpleasant for at least five days which gets better gradually over the course of a couple of weeks. That's usually the point at which natural sleep returns to me. Be careful and know what you're getting yourself into.

normal side effect for me is anxiety.bigger the dose the more anxiety! a couple days clean and it'll be gone. try doing only a half to relieve anxiety.. they're highly addictive if taken daily so take sparingly when really needed..

How does one really knows when it is needed,the purpose of the medicine is to eleviate the pain. No one once to live with pain, I can live with some pain, depending on what I am doing. But than that dull pain sneaks up on you than you're pretty much force to take one or two extra pain killers to get rid of it. So tell me do I take my meds every 6hrs or sparingly..??
