Oxycodone 30mg Chronic Pain Help
(Newest replies first)

We all need to ban together somehow to stick up for the legitamte people in pain with the proper documentation. This is bull**** what we have to do to get our medication each month, From all the BS at the doctor offioce visits. With the ever changing rules to follow from the DEA . The scare tactics the DEA uses to scare the doctors to even pescribe the Oxycodone to legitamate people in chronic pain. And finally once you get through all of that..if you do... then come the BS at the pharmacies....you will hear we are out..or the shipment is comimg in a few days...then you go back and it didnt come in and its on back order...or you will hear (we dont fill from that doctor with no explination)...or we dont get them anymore. Its so much BS we have to stand up together and do somthing people!!!! The pharmacies lie I know for a fact because if you have cancer you have no problem ever getting them. A cancer patience never has a problem getting it filled. But the people like us with spine issues are all looked at as drug attics or dealers or just plain bad people. I have had chronic at pain for 7 years and I am on disabilty having worked in the very labor intensive contruction industry for 30 years and jusy plain wore out my spine in every way imanigable. And its is just down right unlawful, unethical and a violation of our constitutional rights. We do evrything they ask of us and we comply and they continue to add more hoops to jump through every month it seems. It is a freaking disgrace that we do everything asked of us and the DEA has put so much pressure to doctors, pharmacies and patiences that it is virtually impossible to get the medication. We need these few lousy pills a day to lead a productive life, provide for our families and just be happy. If we could just transfer our pain to another individual like the whole DEA agency then they would understand. Its not our fault some people are abusing this medication but it works very well for pain. They will probally just make it so it cant be insufflated or shot up like they did with the oxycotin a few years back, Back then when oxycotin was the main abused drug there was no oxycodone. It wasnt till after the new oxycotins came out did they make the oxycodone. And once they make the oxycodone not unable to insufflate the drug companys will make another pill you can use intranasally, and on and on we go. I just think its easy to identify who needs these drugs and who dosent. When you comply with all the rules and have all your paperwork and pass all the drug panels they should bring your pills out on a silver platter. Its easier to get H then this medication. Which by the way is where the oxycodone comes from. They make it so hard and near impossible to get our medication that they are driving people to go to straight to H because they say its cheaper and the same effects. And then its only to lock you up and through away the key....This is america right????? So basically I am wondering if anyone can help me put together somthing to help us, the people with the chronic pain to not have to go through these ridiculous changing rules time and time again......Any ideas guys and girls,,,what can we do to help ourselves. I can do anything. I have lots of time being disabled and would put the time in to set up a petition or a site or whatever...dont know what to do at this point but somthing needs to be done on our behalf....DO ANY OF YOU CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERS FEEL ME!!!! This is my first time posting on a chat board and dont know how it all works as far as getting in contact with anyone to discuss our plan of action....i guess just respond to this and ill see what to do.. I believe we cant leave phone numbers on here or email addresses....so im trying to start somthing for a good cause and need all your help....PEACE TO ALL OF YOU AND HOPE YOU HAVE A PAIN FREE DAY!!!!
I've posted several times. It's an atrocity how CPP are being treated. I've called & emailed TN representatives. TN DEPT of health, CDC, FDA, DEA are all involved in this. I want to NOT BE BEDRIDDEN ANYMORE!! I'LL DO ANYTHING TO HELP. I'm in Nashville TN.

The Beardon Healthcare is legit, I know someone who goes there. It is criminal the way pain patients are treated. I hope they are happy, Oxycontin is not the #1 killer, Heroin is.
I'm with you! It's a darn shame that we as chronic pain ppl get the bad rap!! We need to ban together to stop this craziness! Why should we suffer because others can't control their meds?! I've been discriminated by Dr's because of age, even though it's there in black n white my problems!!! We have to ban together! Because they thought it was a great idea to just shut down all the pain Dr's there's a opiate problem like you can't imagine! And it's not just Wv!!!
Buddy I feel you and have had the same ideas but it would do us no good to go to or send letters to our state capitals cuz they would just be thrown to the side. It's hard finding a Dr that is even sympathetic enough to write anything or has the balls to stand up. For us to get anywhere we'd have to find Drs that would stand up and fight with and for us and only GOD knows if that would ever happen. I have found a few Drs but the SOBs won't help me cuz I'm on Xanax, by a psychiatrist, and they won't help me cuz of that but I need both, I'd say it's over the dumb MFers that ODed from taking the Methadone and Xanax together! So I'm unfortunately caught in a real bad spot cuz I NEED MY BENZOS!! Hope you can figure out something, if you can I'm behind you and I know a lot of others who'd join us, F*** the DEA, they're destroying us!
Okay. First thing I would drop the Oxycodone fight. It's over on that opiate. It has a bad name and always will. Short term gains vs long term. Now the Oxy CEO is the head of a MMJ company.
The key is to get as many people that are terminal dying right before your eyes. On TV and internet and Newspapers. Yes Print. Print is what Voters read.
So go to the largest Church that you can find. Fill it with all the pain sufferer's. And get people to tell their story. Over and over, 1000 Stories will get a response. When 50 million people over 18 agree to let Doctors do what they think is right.
And drop the Hammer on the Guy's like the one's from Florida or any other Dr that does Coke for Oxy Rx or large money for Gambling.
Bring in the Death penalty. Let there be a tip line for Doctors to tell about other Doctors.
And have Faith. In the Simpsons. They said the Wine was spiked with Vic's. And they were worried about the Acetaminophen not the Hydrocodone as much. That is either progress. I am hoping.
People in pain are killing themselves in the 10,000's of thousands each year. From NSAID's, Acetaminophen, Alleve and all the other's. I know Alleve is a NSAID. Another is Advil.
Those are the big Killers. And they are Generics.
The problem is lack of R & D. Long acting Morphine?? Nucynta?? Garbage. Not the Morphine. But the 24 hour Hydromophone and drinking was not smart. So let it go as a Booze death. There is enough of them.
Legalize Marijuana in which it is free for people in Pain. Note from a Dr should be good enough.
Also letting people evaluate their H or C or any street drug. They will tell the health community what is out there the quickest.
Use the Tax dollars from Marjiuana to finance the drug panels. And the same for all other pharms like they do today.
I don't even want to think of what the Oxycodone legal cases will be like in 10 years.
But it will not be as big as tobacco.
Support Tobacco going smokeless. Yes. Malboro's and Phillip Moris are going the right way. Harm reduction.
Supervised inj. sites. Where people bring the drug in. They evaluate it at random and give out the right amount. i.e. three 4mg Dilaudid's would cost 20 cents V.S. the guy OD'ing on the street and the cost of going and getting in.
And the idea that Vancouver has that they give 800 people opiates or Hydromorphone each day so they don't run around all day hustling ripping people off.
Think about the cost of a B and E over Drugs vs giving the guy 400 Dilaudid to use at the clinic. And only there and only an amount that if he needs narcan. He can't go that high next time.
New's Flash.
The addicts don't want to live this way. They are just in so much pain from Withdrawal that it destroys their brain. If you just give them the drug so they are not sick then you can get them into treatment and get to the root cause.
And HERE is the biggest thing in the WAR against DRUGS - go after the Pedophiles.
If anyone has looked at an intake form for addicts for men they have a huge amount of likelihood of abusing drugs.
So if we want to help lower the Addicts so that the Government can let the Doctors do their job's without patients lying to them as much, get rid of the Pedophiles. Much much long sentencing and cutting off the male parts is mandatory. Even if the Cops get it wrong. Which will happen. We can't focus just on that.
These are my idea's to bring back true Pain treatment to the USA.
A group that is full of people who are in need of Pain treatment to live. And they need to group together in the millions and vote according to what they will tell "Alec" to do in the future.
Also who will fight against a group against pedo's and also a group that has every major Charity working with it already.
Plus and this is something that gets me annoyed. The 420 Groups. Smoking huge joints. This is why it is not 100% legal. Because this is how people will think you would act after legalization. Grow up, please. I want these dumb laws gone.
And look to Canada who now has made Drugs not under the Justice department of storage of people to the Health Care. Where these people can get more help.
There are more drugs in jail then on the street. For the most parts.
It's time to band together and change any election in our favor.
All we ask is that you uphold the criminal cases. And that you will treat anyone in Pain as a person.
Because your little old Grandmother on 60 mg of Morphine after losing her pills for 2 days will be acting like a Drug Addict. So Pseduoaddiction is very much a problem.
Good luck to all. Sorry about the Rant. I am just so tired of Trillions of Tax money just burnt up because they didn't go after the real Criminals. Like Willie Norton. He is one of the reasons for 1 million more inmates.
Good luck.
I totally agree! The scare tactics they are using are just SCARE TACTICS, and that's it. The CDC can make these recommendations on how they should prescribe but it's not the LAW! The problem is all these dumb ass people that abuse them and OD! If you have legitimate MRI, I myself have 2 metal plates and 8 screws plus Lupus! I have been cut so far down they have just about put me in the bed! I have always had my count and never failed a drug panel! They should not treat everyone across the board because we are all different!!! It's unethical treatment and we should not be treated this way!!! I have written an 8 page letter to the CDC and to the legislature of the GREAT STATE OF TN! It is wrong on all levels to be treated inhumane by our government but guess what, it's happening!
Will this place take outta state patients, I'm from KY and there's no where here that will even attempt to help. I'd much appreciate any info you could give me. THANKS! :-)
Man I feel you more than you know! I've had 18 MVAs causing extreme chronic pain since 1996, which that wreck put me in a coma for 13 days, broke my right leg, also giving me TMJ, 3rd palsy, etc. I also have had my types cut off, my neck broken, cervical cancer removed along with multiple other health problems and I can't find any help. I live in KY and the one PTC that I found that would actually help discharged me when I want able to go for a PC when I was in a hard C collar from my broke neck and I was on 9 Methadone, 3 15mg Oxycodone and 4 10mg Xanax a day and was let go without even being tapered off and that was back in 2009 after 9 yrs of treatment and now I can't find anywhere to help me. Even though I've already been through all the procedures at one Dr that they force you to go through even though you have already done it at the other ten Drs before them and you already know that they don't work they still make you go through months of that S*** before it finally hits them that meds are the only things that are going to work esp when you've been through 20+ yrs of pain and already know what's gonna help you! I'm sorry I could go one forever because I've been through some real bad S*** in my life and I'm so TIRED of being TIRED!!! I'm also on disability and if it wasn't for my kid I would've already killed myself even though the kid card is starting to wear thin. I would be with you a 100% if we could figure out what would be an effective way of getting the gov't F*** ups to understand one of the major problems going on all over our country and no one except the ones in chronic pain seem to actually care about our pain, our inability to be productive in our lives as well as in our children's lives. It's funny I know all kinds of drug dealers who seem to have no problem in getting medication and the ones who need it couldn't get it even if we were bleeding out of every orifice in our bodies but when we can't get meds prescribed to us and we can't work and are usually are on disability, barely having money to live, we have to take what money we have and pay outrageous prices to get what we need to live so we're just making them richer while we, who need it, give the lil bit of money we get to line their pockets, it disgusts me!! If you can figure out someway to start a movement to help the tremendous amount of ppl like us make a difference in how we're treated, so we can be happy and healthier then what we are please get in touch with me. {edited for privacy}. Maybe if we put our heads together we might be able to come up with something bc this is one of the biggest problems facing our country is facing with the possibility of Hellary becoming our next problem, if that happens we'll definitely be SCREWED!!
Dolor, I completely agree. We must do something for ourselves the legitimate chronic pain sufferers. I've been in pain mgmt 15 yrs, no operation will help n have tried all inj's. to see if anything worked but no. I am bedridden without medication n b4 I was upped to meds that helped I used a heating pad so much it bruised my back. The 5th surgeon I saw gave me a letter saying I can be the only 1 to judge how serious my pain is. The government wants Dr to only give 200mg of morphine or equivalent a day to anybody in pain, well were not all the same. Some may have higher pain tolerance than others. I could never give birth naturally but some do. I was on 200mg ms contin twice a day & also breakthru meds & now I can't find a caring compassionate Dr that will prescribe them I had been on same dosage over 2 yrs & was doing better, had lost some weight BC I was getting up more walking with walker instead of lying in bed having to be cared for, but head Dr left so now they can't give anything. I have all records, imaging, etc & wouldn't care if they gave me drug panels & did pill counts weekly or daily as long as I could get my medication that gave me a better life. I live in Hermitage TN (Nashville). Plz contact me if anyone can help with a Dr or what we can do to change things for legitimate ppl in chronic pain. I'd be happy to help. Blessings to all n hoping your having a day with less pain. {edited for privacy}
If you happen to get s reply and find a Dr near Atlanta please fill me in and I will do likewise. I live near Milledgeville and Eatonton GA and I'm having a terrible time trying to find a Dr that will help me. Thanks.
You can go to Bearden healthcare associates in Knoxville Tn ....they will give you your meds. Just take a copy of all meds that you were taking and they will give you the same meds...all they ask is you fill them at Lowes pharmacy.
YOU ARE SOOO VERY VERY RIGHT!!!! SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE AND DONE NOW, I AM IN CONSTANT PAIN EVERYDAY, I HAVE NO ENERGY WHATSOEVER AND SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE ASAP!!!! I TOTALLY FEEL YOU, THEY ALL NEED TO WALK IN OUR SHOES FOR AS LONG AS WE DO AND THEN MAYBE THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! I M TO THE POINT WHERE I CANT EVEN FUNCTION ANYMORE, AND MY PAIN IS SOOOO EXTREMELY BAD!!!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, I LIVE IN NAPLES, FL. AND THE BEST MEDICINE THAT IVE FOUND THAT REALLY WORKS FOR ME IS THE OXYCODONE 30mg. TABLETS AND I CANT FIND ANYONE THAT WANT TO WRIGHT AN APPROPRIATE AMOUNT FOR ME TO FUNCTION!!!!! I HAVE A VERY HARD TIME EVEN SLEEPING BECAUSE MY HIP IS ALSO ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE ON MY RIGHT SIDE, PLUS ICANT HARDLY WALK BECAUSE I HAVE SEVERE ARTHRITIS IN MY ANKLE, AND MY BACK IS JUST ATROSHOUS, ITS SOOO VERY VERY PAINFUL AND ITS CONSTANT, IT NEVER STOPS, EVER, I DONT KNOW WHAT THESE DOCTORS ARE THINKING, BUT NEURONTON AND LYRICA, JUST DONT DO XXXX, ITS TOTALLY BS AS WELLAS MELOXICAM, AN ANTI INFLAMMATORY DRUG, THATS REALLY BS!!!! PLEASE RESPOND BACK TO ME, I REALLY NEED ALL OF THE HELP THAT I CAN GET TRULY!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS!!!! P.S. IVE TRIED EVERY PRESCRIPTION OUT THERE AND THE OXYCODONE 30mg. IS TRULY THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS FOR ME. PLEASE, I REALLY HOPE THAT SOME CAN HELP ME, AND I HAVE NEVER ABUSED ANYTHING, I AM WAY TO SCARED OF NEEDLES AND I HAVE ONLY TAKEN PRESCRIPTION MEDS IN MY LIFE!!! THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH!!
I agree with this 100 percent. Something needs to be done. I am a 28 year old army veteran with degenerative disc disease, arthritis and what I believe is causing most of my pain a spinal cord tumor. I'm in 8 level pain all of the time and no doctors will help me out. The surgeon doesn't want to do surgery because it's too risky. I can't have surgery, I saw 3 nuerosurgeon and I can't have proper pain management. What am I suppose to do? Thank you for hearing me out. I am willing to get involved aswell.
Have a tremendous fear, as does my doctor that a raid by the DEA could happen. At the same time I know that I am in the top 10% of his patients that are at this level. I take some solace in that. Good thoughts and prayers that the Drug laws will change. One can only hope that this will happen in our lifetime.
I have same issues. Been going to same Dr. for over 10yrs. & now, DEA has basically took ALL his patients rights away even down to raiding office & VIOLATING HIPPA RIGHTS! (they just packed up private patient records.. no notice to patients of even possibly having records taken!)
Definitely feel for you folks and can relate to most of the replies on this subject. It seems to me that the majority of you having problems are living in southern states. I live in New England and have been fortunate to have ties with the same Pain Mngmt. Center for 15 plus years. The only problem that I ran into is when I reached nine 30mg oxycodone per day. The doc informed me that insurance and regulatory agencies would not allow him to prescribe any higher. Unfortunately as many of you may know after 15 years 2 tabs QID just won't cut through all that pain. That's in addition to a patch and a breakthrough med on top of it. Many may say they wish they had this problem, but believe me at times it's like having little medication at all. Mostly I am grateful for the fentanyl patch. When nothing else seems to help it takes the edge off my pain.
So folks in summary, if chronic pain is controlling your life and you can't find a doctor or a pharmacy that will work with you consider two things. There are a couple of Chronic Pain groups on the internet that find doctors in many areas when people feel lost. Second, gather ALL your records and check on docs in the New York and Connecticut areas. A move could be better than living the rest of your life in misery.
I Feel Ya!! I called the FDA today & asked for complaint forms. We are being forced without consent to only have Non Opioid BioSimilar Pain Meds which is Label/Product Fraud & or MisInformation because the FDA approved the use of the names Hydrocodone & Oxycodone when there is absolutely no thebaine from Opium used at all. They also were allowed to call their product a generic.....
Call the BBB (Better Business Bureau), Call & Also Physically file with Your State's Board of Pharmacy. Any website that will let you file a claim or experience on their site, like maybe Angie's List for a bad drug company or at Rip Off Report. Newspapers, Politicians, etc....Keep on writing & reporting to local tv stations. The Big Stations are "Owned" so I kept away from them.
I had a blood vessel to bust in my forehead & left eye because my blood pressure was thru the roof due to undermedication & shoddy, ineffective pain meds. I pay my insurance premiums, pay for doctor visits & pay some more at the Pharmacy only to be given non-working fake pain meds. You are so right about people needing to get together on this, but if we can't leave contact info on this site I do not need any more trouble.....It makes one wonder "who" needs to keep like-minded people from taking care of a bad situation?
Ask for Complaint Forms to be sent to you from 888-INFO-FDA. Good Luck!!
Amen to that. I'm in same boat. Live in ky and can't get help anymore.
Thanks for the replies, folks. I see things very clearly from both sides, but for some patients, after failing everything else, opioids are the best treatment when monitored properly and combined with non-pharmaceutical methods of pain management. The honest truth is that the ability to be able to access that care is dwindling and I fear soon will die out. My situation is worse, my husband's is much worse, and now my mother who lives in AR and has terminal cancer along with RA, spinal stenosis, connective tissue disease, etc., can't get treatment for her pain, either. Every route we've tried has failed, no attorneys are interested, no organizations are interested, and no media outlets are interested that we've contacted thus far. I saw patients treated this way when I was practicing and knew it was coming for us. There is one group of people who can help--practicing physicians who are critical thinkers and are willing to speak up about this. Come on guys, the sick folks struggling with activities of daily living at home are disenfranchised and marginalized--we have no credibility in the eyes of most. When we speak, people hear an addict whether or not that is true. We need doctors to speak up. But doctors by and large are risk averse (about prescribing opioids but not about fringe procedures or questionably helpful medications with poor side effect profiles and high costs, ironically), confrontation averse (they don't want to debate issues with colleagues or take the time to ask patients tough questions and get to know them; more irony), and tend to go with whatever herd mentality is the loudest at any given point in time. One of the pain doctors I saw actually said to me "your problem is everywhere, I can't do anything for you; a procedure won't help, and I don't prescribe meds." At least he was honest and didn't waste my time. But I haven't found any who felt differently and that is crazy for a severely disabling condition for which there is only palliative care. My husband continues on half of the pain medication he was on last year--at that time a board certified psychiatrist, pain specialist, and addictionologist he had been seeing for years thought he needed to be on more, and any textbook would have agreed, as did his primary provider that he had been seeing for over 20 years. Then the pain doc retired from his practice, and our local healthcare empire fired all pain patients of primary providers without prior warning or referrals, so he had to find a new primary and new pain doc. That was a long hard path that ended with him now having to spend more time in bed than out, although he can't sleep and can't do much when he is out bed either. It is a nightmare. I understand legislation is being considered to try to protect legitimate pain patients access to care, but I'm not sure either of us will survive that long. No one seems to understand that when you are struggling to survive and get diagnostics approved, and get to appointments, and grappling with insurance, etc., you can't really mount a grass roots effort to combat very effective propaganda. We have done absolutely everything by the book but it wasn't good enough apparently. I'll save detailed explanations about the nature of the propaganda for another post. Thanks for the kind words.
Awesome message, I would like to be apart of this group. What ever happened to treating pain with compassion. I totally feel you on the pharmacist playing God with you. I to, wish that the DEA could wake up to how it feels for me when I wake up, like my joints have been cemented and can't move. Hard to maintain a job, and play with my 3yo.
