I've been prescribed OxyContin and Roxycodone for 5 years now due to bilateral bone deformities as well as having no cartiledge in both feet. The medicine has been a blessing. About 6 weeks back, I wasn't feeling well, and was taking only half the amount of medicine rx'ed for about 5 days because I'd had at couple of days of severe upper stomach pain along with vomiting. After a few days it calmed down and went away. The 3rd and final bout though, was much more severe, the same stomach agony and this time, more intense projectile vomiting. It was so bad I couldn't sleep or move. My question is, can this be related? Could this be yet another symptom of withdrawal? I've never experienced pain like this but I did run out of my pain meds once, 4 yrs. ago- not realizi...

Oxycontin 80 or 110mg is better than oxa forte or it's the same. ## Hello, Karl! How are you? Oxa Forte contains Diclofenac with Codeine, so it is actually much weaker than the Oxycodone in the Oxycontin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was involved in a car accient last year and am now working with a Pain Manage clinic. I have had injections upon injections, epiderals, blah blah and now they belive it is a tear in my disc between L4 and L5. Needless to say VERY painful. The most recent visit has placed me on Oxy AGAIN. I acutally took myself off them a few months ago because the pain was not getting ANY less... actually the same if not worse regardless of how many or mg increase. At 20 mg 2 X day I said I am done and started to only take 1 them none. That was miserable... Switched Doctors.. told him all of this and what does he do .. BACK ON THE OXY.. I have found that Percocet 7.5/325 2 pills 3 X day work the best AND it I don't have bad pain I don't HAVE to take it. I am so frustrated and I have called the...

Im from toronto n got a 80mg green oxy with 80 on one side and a sigle p on othet! If this a real 80? ## need pain meds for herniated disk ## Hi Frnk, The closest match I've been able to locate is Oxycontin (80 mg). It is a round green pill with the imprint '80' on one side and 'OP' on the other. Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin; Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opioid synthesized from poppy-derived thebaine. It is a narcotic analgesic generally indicated for relief of moderate to severe pain. It is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and has a National Drug Code of 59011-0480. Maybe the O on your pill got smudged off? Does it look as if it has been tampered with? You can learn more about this drug on the page for OxyContin Details ## It is real. Its a new Cana...

I was assaulted resulting in all ribs broken on L side and damage to Pelvic Bone. I was prescribed 3 10/325 oxycodone, and took them for about 10 months. I suddenly noticed small black or brown lines at the gum line. I took a dental tool (sold at local pharmacy) to see what it was and realized the enamel was so soft I could easily just scrape it off. I went to my DDS and she was horrified as I had had an appointed right before the injury and my teeth were normal. Now I see dark brown areas around the majority of my teeth at the gum line. I am on Social Security which leaves no $ for dental work. Has anyone attempted any kind of cure in an attempt to stop the progression? I was thinking like Vit C or anything. I have been off them 2 mos. and plan to see DDS soon, but from reading this fo...

I need to find a doctor that is willing to write oxycontin scripts in Colorado Springs CO. My doc of many years retired. I have advanced osteoarthritis in all my joints and spine. I have had 3 hip replacements, major reconstruction ankle surgery and the radial head of my elbow removed just to name a few. also partake in some recreational drugs, which obviously is an important factor in referring me a do . With deepest appreciation, Keith ## Keith, Hi I'm in Teller county. Wish I could give you the name of a doctor, but that's been a problem for all of the chronic pain patients in Teller county since last year when our doctor retired. Have several friends in the Springs that are facing the same problem. They have to make the appointment, after finding a doctor who is accepting ...

I have terrible stomach aches and mouth sores which my entire tounge is starting to turn white. It is painful on my tounge and in my throat and ears. If I scrape it off it bleeds. Besides that I am getting great pain relief from the stluff! Is there any way I can get hold of the old oxycontins or another formulation? I read other people were nausiated from the op's and I did not belive the but I do now. ## Hello, Mia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. As to the original Oxycontin, no, it is no longer being manufacturer. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such ...

Are they still OK to take? The protective coating was gone ## Hello, Christy! How are you? No, a good portion of the medication has most likely been released, so they are likely worthless. He should consult his prescriber regarding how to proceed. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Prescribed light color salmon/light pink round pill says 20 one side and ABG other side. Internet says it is Morphine. Prescription was oxycontin. Please advise ASAP. Were we misinformed by an Independent Pharmacy.? ## The internet shouldn't say it is morphine since morphine does not come in 20mg. It comes in doses such as 15mg, 30mg, etc. You have a generic form of Oxycontin 20mg. It is oxycodone 20mg. It is the same time released drug as the name brand oxycontin. It is a schedule 2 narcotic that is very addictive. It is used for moderate to severe pain. Side effects include nausea, euphoria, constipation, blurred vision, headaches, among others. ## ITS A OBLONG FOOTBALL LOOKING PILL, LIGHT PINK IN COLOR, NUMBER 93 ON ONE SIDE,31 ON THE OTHER ## It's the same thing. I'm having break thru pain which is seriously painful. What could My pain Dr do? ## Hello, SolidMike! How are you? Since this is a time released medication, your doctor could prescribe an instant or regular release one, in addition to it, to help with breakthrough pain. There are quite a few choices that can be prescribed. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you spoken to them about the problem? ## I I really feel for everyone here that is really hurting and not just seeking a high. my Dr has me on 2 -15Mg Ms Contin per day with 2- percocet 10's. well long story short they aren't helping at all.what is the next step? can't sleep. const...

Trying to find out what these pills are..there's a 20 on one side and ON underlined on the other. They are small, round, and pink. Exactly like oxycontin except that they say ON instead of OC or OP. Please help! ## Hello, Sonya! How are you? From what I can find, this tablet contains 20mgs of Oxycodone sold under the brand name Oxyneo. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, I actually found out what it was the day after I posted this. I have been on oxycontin 15mg twice a day for a year now. Today I think I may have taken my second dose twice. I'm super anxious. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Celina! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? If you already tolerant to narcotics, then it is most likely that you wouldn't experience much more than a worsening of the regular side effects, such as more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Thank you. I thankfully did fine. I just have to be extra careful. I have never taken more than prescribed so I was very anxious. Thank you for checking in.

I have been taking oxycontin and oxycodone for the nearly 7 years. I have RSD/CRPS. I did have it in both legs with gross swelling. The burning sensation is indescribable and I am a 10 on the McGill Pain Index. I am fortunate that the pain is only in my right leg at this time. We, RSD, have a bulletin that is put out monthly. Currently we have no major movie stars suffering from this disease with the exceptions of( Paula Abdul and Audrey John-Celebrity Chef) so we get very little attention. It is an invisible disease that lacks the medical backing it deserve. It also ranks extremely high in the suicide category. I am lucky to have found a Dr who was very informed when it comes to this disease. Now I will get off my soap box. Anyone taking oxycontin is aware Purdue Pharma has a monopoly ...

Can someone please tell me why I am having such bad reactions to OC (the usual itching, nausea and vomiting). I am vomiting 5-6 time a day, and find it extremely difficult to keep anything down, even water. I have been prescribed OC 80mg for severe disc protrusion, awaiting surgery, subsequent to a double discectomy and laminectomy (lumbar). I am aware that opioids can adversely affect people who are not tolerant, but for me, this is not the case. In the past I have had Diamorphine and Fentanyl 75 with no issues, not even withdrawal. Can anyone throw any light on this for me. They are great for the pain, but I can no longer handle the side effects. ## In addition to this post, when I vomit from the meds, I often end up vomiting the pill which then has no effect on the pain. With respect...

Are there any generic forms of Oxycontin, the OC type, in any dosage? I remember that a while ago there were some generics out for this medication, but it seems like they have all disappeared. ## Yes, they have all been removed from the market, due to the ever increasing amounts of abuse, theft and diversion. The time released formulation of Oxycodone is now only available in the name brand Oxycontin, manufactured by Purdue Pharma. The basic idea was that if it's only made by one manufacturer, then it makes it much easier to keep track of the supply and prevent theft and diversion. However, there are other formulations of Oxycodone, which are available as both name brands and generics. There is an immediate release formulation, the name brand for it would be OxyIR and there is a reg...
