I have a prescription for oxycontin and I do periodic treatment for an eye disease I have. When I went to my treatment appointment they gave me roxicodone as a substitute because they didn't have any oxycontin available. I would like to know if the ETG lab drug test will be able to tell the difference between these two brands since they test for metabolites and are very advanced?

There is no imprint on in side and only a v in the other side. Is this an oxycotin 40? ## Hi kelly, What type of "V" would you describe it as? Is it cursive like the one from Vintage Pharmaceuticals? If so, their tablets are recognized for having an additional set of numbers on the pill as well; deeming this as a possible counterfeit. And please correct me if I'm wrong but judging from your description, one has to assume that it wasn't obtained from a legitimately licensed pharmacy. In such cases there are no guarantees that what you received is real, unless you were to have its contents analyzed by a lab. Reason being is that counterfeits nowadays are becoming increasingly similar to the real thing, and without a way to verify the imprint, it's just not worth the ri...

I have had Bone Spurs along my Lumbar and Some Thoracic vertebral bodies. Also, L4, L5 bulging discs. prescribed OxyContin gradually from 10 mg to 80mg over 12 years. Pain started to decrease and lowered my medication to Methadone 10mg /2 or 3 pills every 12 hours. Pain Managed until August 4th, 2014 car accident causing a burst fracture of my L4 vertebrae. The Doctors prescribed 4 x 10 mg Methadone tabs q 8 hours and 5 mg Valium for spasms . Pain relieve if I lay in bed and do nothing except go insane. They changed my Dose from 4x 10 mg Methadone tabs q 8 hours to q 12 hours which did not cover me for 12 hours. Then they added 10 mg Oxycodone/325 for break through. my dr prescibed oxymorphone er 60 mg. and oxymorphone ir 5 mg. I was able to purchase the ir tablets in generic (but they cost about 50.00 more than the oxycodone ir 20 mg. that I was taking before he switched my meds) I was not able to get the oxymorphone er 60 mg. in generic form. Are these manufactured in the U.S (2014)? The brand name was Opana, which ended up costing me around 450.00 for 60 pills. This is OUTRAGEOUS!! I am a woman, of only 58 yrs.old. I'm on disibility from back injuries from about 20-25 yrs. ago and I also have C.O.P.D. Because of this I'm on a very low income, but not quite low enough to get "The Extra Help" that is avaiable to people who didn't work very much. Because of that they"re disibility pymts. are a bit smaller than mine, therefor...

Just switched over from oxy 30mg instant release 6x daily to oxycontin 60mg with 2 30mg IR for breakthrough. Been on this for a long time. I find that I'm very disappointed with the oxycontin 60 it seems to only last 5 hours at the most and I have many breakthrough pains during that period of time. I've heard of oxymorphone ER and want to know if this would be better for me due to opioid tolerance. If anybody can give me opinions on this please do. Thanks. ## First off, the 30mg that you're taking cannot be instant release tablets, the instant release is only available in a 5mg capsule. If you're taking 30mg tablets, then they have to be the regular release formulation, which is a generic for Roxicodone. Learn more Roxicodone details here. And the Oxycontin just doesn...

Just curious {locked thread} ## No, the new Oxycontin OP have been specially designed to help prevent such abuse of the medication. Even if you try to crush, chew or dissolve them, they retain their time released properties. They work the same as the originals and may still cause the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Are there any questions? ## Verwon, not trying to be rude but I am a daily oc 80 abuser and I have Ben buying the new ops and taking them. It smokes really crappy and taste like a generic but it still affects you. I guess they were aiming the abuse at the snorters and or crushers cheered extra. ## I agree with Carson. I just got them today for the first time. Which is why I'm looking on the internet about it. I tried ...

i dont know where they came from but for almost 2 years of being gone im able to once again get oc 80s where could they be coming from????? ## Hello, Mikeeyy! How are you? There are 2 possibilities, since they are no longer being manufactured. Someone might have found an old, leftover supply somewhere, or they are fake. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Or where i can go to fill. been out for 3 days and i'm feeling the effect right now. {edited for privacy} ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I'm sorry, but there are no listings of what pharmacy has any given medication in stock that I can refer to for you. The only way to find out is by physically going to the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand to ask. However, you Walgreens should be able to check with others to see if they have it, which would save you some running. I need to know what the fillers are in the oxycontin Tablets 10 mgm made in the UK and distributed by Mundipharma P/L Bridge St Sydney. I have a patient with a dairy allergy and who cannot tolerate Lactose as a tablet filler. ## Hi Robert, It is difficult to answer this question unless you can post the specific manufacturer name. Manufacturing processes differ between each company, and even generic products of the same drug can have different fillers / inactive ingredients. Because of that, the best starting point to knowing the proper answer is to first ascertain who is making the pills in question. Hope this makes sense! Let me know what you think... ## The manufacturer of OxyContin (until last year there were no generics; the patent does not officially expire until 2006, 20 years aft...

have forest green, capsule shaped oxycontin CR C-11. Package is a bubble card . Pills are slightly scored with no inscriptions. AAre these real? ## I have these tablets also but don't know if they are real. ## There are not the legal U.S. Oxycontin product manufactured by Purdue Pharma. Those are all round tablets, the old ones had a marking of OC on one side and the number designating the dosage on the other side, while the new formulation replaces the OC with the letters OP. Where were these found/obtained? All U.S. manufactured prescription medications will have unique markings of some type to enable their identification. ## I have these also, they are past expiration date and had no effect when I took one..I haven't found 1 person who can validate whether these are real or n...

need specifics on docs who prescribe oxycontin in Cleveland, oh area ## There are no listings of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that can be searched for you. Technically, any doctor can prescribe it, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis for the management of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then the easiest thing to do would be to ask them to refer you to someone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Most do but few do it illegally and also won't prescribe it...

Came across a yellowish brown pill with oc on one side and 40 on the other. I was thinking it might be oxys but the number 4 caught my eye. Its closed off at the top otger oxys I came across always had a open 4. The 4 looks just like the one used here 4. They are from the Philippines that much I know. ## Hello bongomatix, From what I could gather, it looks like you are right about the legitimate 40mg Oxycontin having an "open ended 4" on them. The pill you came across seems to fit every other aspect of the description of a 40mg Oxycontin. But on top of that, with it being from the Philippines I have a good hunch that it's probably counterfeit/fake, since its real manufacturer is US based. Hopefully you didn't spend too much money on it, because legitimate manufacturers d...

Please help! I was prescribed OxyContin 40mg at first 1 every 12 hrs. After about 1-1/2 yrs the dr upped my dose to 40 mg 1 every 6 hrs due to the medication not helping with my pain as much as before. So the drs answer was to "increase the frequency of the medication/ double it!) and this took me quite a while to get use to the drugged feeling caused by the increase but eventually I did. The prescribing dr left the practice after about 2yrs. Apparently now I'm learning this prescribing history is why! However I have never been told this until yesterday! Anyway, Then another dr from the same practice kept prescribing the exact same way (40mg every 6hrs) that dr passed away and another dr from same practice took over my case again and has written the exact same prescription (40mg...
