When i looked the oxy up there is nothing like this related to it. It looks like an over the counter medication. Can someone please tell me what this is.... ## Are there any markings on the tablet? That is what would enable it to be identified. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! The FDA classifies Oxycodone as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If there are no markings, then in all likelihood, it is something available over the counter, because all prescription tablets are required to have markings on them to enable their identification. ## No there isn't just ...
how can I get my doctor to prescribe 160 mg oxycontin? ## There are no 160mg Oxycontin tablets, the maximum available is 80mgs, so you could only total 160mgs in a day, taking them every 12 hours. And, unless you have a possibly terminal condition that causes intractable pain, such as stage 4 cancer, it is highly unlikely that any doctor will prescribe the maximum dosage, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache and constipation. What dosage do you currently take? ## YES there IS 160mg Oxycontin! LOL
I have been on oxycodone 30mg for about 6 months now, its time for my refill and my pharmacy is having trouble keeping them in stock. I was givin 2 oxycontin 30mg op by a friend. But from all the bad reviews on the oxycontin im not sure i want to take the whole 30. Is cutting it in half safe? Will it be the same as taking 15mg? ## No, it is not safe to cut or break Oxycontin tablets. This is a time released formulation of the medication, so doing so could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which may result in overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No don'...

The manufacturer is Purdue Pharma and they have completely replaced the product with the new one that had the OP marking. It had been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Have you tried asking your doctor about trying a different medication? There is a time released Morphine available, as a generic and name brand. The brand is MS Contin. Side effects...
After weeks of reading all kinds of different threads on multiple sites, I have found that this method and regamen works so good, if not better that the old OC's. So this is what I do. {edited for safety reasons} This method is a mix of a bunch of threads I have read on here and wow, it has been working great for me. This is really just for those how like to take it orally, but with this new formula, that is pretty much the only way you can take it anyway. Good luck all, I hope this help some of you out there looking for instant releaf. Any questions, please feel free to reply to this, I will be on most of the day today ## And such things are exactly what caused Purdue to change the Oxycontin formulation in an effort to prevent. Such practices are very dangerous, especially combinin...
Diagnosed with Ahlers-Danlos Syndrome almost 12 years now... I have chronic pain everywhere as all my joints are bone on bone. Without going into detail... I was made to stop working and am on Medicare. I have a Medicare part D plan. I just sat here writing an explanation of how that works and how I can’t afford the now $498.00 a month co-pay that I would have to shell out…. But I erased it... My main objective is to get my prescriptions filled by a pharmacy... in any Country... for a reasonable price I am not a junkie... I have been taking 80mg a day for 10 years now; It is the only drug that actually allows me to function and feel like a human. Is there anyone out there who knows of a pharmacy that I can send my scrip’s to who wi...

I know my maroon/brick red color 60 mg oxycontin was replaced with a VERY believable look alike by a so called friend and these pills have no markings on them, just the same color and size. Since I'm in PM I am worried out of my mind!!! What could these be? Any pics would be helpful too!! Thank you in advance!!!
UpdatedHi I have been on oxycodone since 2009 after a back op. I'm just at the end of my tether and don't no how to deal with life anymore!!! My doctors a joke and doesn't want to know! I just wanna know if I could stop slowly and deal with my back pain or stop suddenly and go thru the pain which I've never done!!! My body lets me know if my tablets late. In fact I need it before the 12 hours are up. Any advice would be cool. ## Hello, Peter! How are you? A slow taper would be best, to help prevent the worst of the withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the U.S. FDA, they may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, rebound pain, anxiety and diarrhea. What dosage do you currently take? ## Hi, thanks for the reply. My script is 10 x 4 oxynorm but using more at min 20 ml couple o...
I have a rx for 60 mg oxycontin and I can't find a pharmacy to fill. I just took last one and I don't want to get sick. Please help. Pharmacy I usually use is out. Thanx ## Go to the closest ER or urgent care WOTH your prescription and tell the doc what you said here. It is absolutely INSANE that pharmacies will not even order oxycontin on an as needed basis.....for example, patients of theirs they KNOW will need it every month and ordering it when a new patient requests it! This whole drug thing is BS! Pretty soon we are going to be down to plain old Tylenol and whiskey....I know, great combo, right? NOT! I am a medical professional working toward my BSN and then hopefully Nurse Practitioner.....still, I will probably have no rights to see a chronic pain patient and prescribe w...

UpdatedHi. I'm prescribed 10mg Oxycontin ER and I was wondering if I took two at a time if would release the equivalent of a 20mg dose? My doctor is currently switching me all around with different meds because I seem to be having unsavory side effects with several of the ones he trying. So I'm a guinea pig right now and my pain is crazy. Thanks in advance for any feedback. ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? You shouldn't double up without your doctor's approval as it could result in overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
I have arthritis all over my body and am in constant pain. I was on Opana ER for years with good results until a month ago when the Dr decided to change it to Oxycontin CR. I went to pain management today and have been on Oxycontin 30mg CR for a month. It hasn't been working very well and I have been having tons of breakthrough pain. I told the Dr that we needed to increase the time release and she told me that the FDA recently made changes and that according to those changes I was on too strong of a dose and it needed to be lowered! I have searched all over the web and can find no info about any recent FDA changes. Has anyone else heard of this? By the way I have never in my life abused drugs and always take them exactly as directed. ## New guidelines were issued last year by the D...
I found this and would like to know what it is! Its a round blue pill with a score mark on one side and a M on the other side! What is this? ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? So far, I've been unable to find anything matching this description. However, I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. With just an M on it and no other numbers or logos, I think it's most likely some type of over the counter product. Where was it found? Some of them are regional and knowing the general location may help to narrow it down. ## If it was a M in a box then it was a 30 mg perc ## I have a small blue round pill with a circled m on one side and no other imprints at all on it. I was told it was oxycontin but i need to be certain before I take anything.
When I just posted the ms contin is 100 mgs. a day 2 15mg. ir which the ir I can't even tell the difference ## We have many complaints on here about them not working as well and causing odd side effects. If it were me, I'd print some of the pages and take them in to show my doctor that I am not the only one with a problem with them. Here are the links to just some of the discussions on our site about it: As to the problems you have had with the new formulation, I strongly suggest you report it to the FDA and Purdue at the following numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 The strongest medication for pain that is currently available by prescription is Fentanyl, it is actually over 80 time stronger than Morp...
I have been trying to find a pharmacy in Bradenton that will fill my prescriptions for OxyContin ER 60mg one every 12 hours and Morphine Sulfate IR 15 mg three times daily for breakthrough pain. I just finished changing insurance policies, the agent along with myself noticed what the Pharmacist charged me, and what they charged them was completely different. Now realize that this is supposed to be a discount pharmacy located here In Bradenton. In addition, Mike the Pharmacist is great at all the cons but its all here in black and white. He has been turning in a different price to the insurance company and charging me a different price. So yes since March, I have overpaid him $1809.26. Scripts that were free cost me full price along with the others he doubled. Not sure, where to turn him...
Currently taking 40 mg OxyContin sr but they are back ordered for months. Dr suggested hydromorphin but I'd like to be sure I get the equivlant dose to the OxyContin. What is the comparable strength? ## I was trying to switch from oxy 60mg a day to opana as well. The doctor told me starting dose would be 20mg opana daily ## I was trying to switch from oxy 60mg a day to opana as well. The doctor told me starting dose would be 30mg opana daily. For you switching from 40mg you should be starting with 20mg of opana ## Hello, Tracey and Brooke! How are you both? You're actually taking about different medications here, so I'd like to clear this up to avoid confusing anyone. Regarding the Hydromorphone for you, Tracey, you need 3.75mgs of it for each 10mgs you were taking of the Ox...
I had extensive back surgery 5 months ago and i also have severe migraines. i have 1 oxycontin 10 mg tab left and i am in a lot of pain today. can I take the oxycontin ? i took 2 tablets of 5/325 oxyco/acetam 3 hours ago ## Hello, Andrayan! How are you? You should be able to take it, as long as your doctor approves. It would best not to combine them, without checking with your doctor, due to the fact that you may risk an overdose, if the dose higher than what you usually take. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?
OMG I felt like I was being posioned. I have taken OC for 3 years now, it has made my life managable. I suffer from severe chronic pain. I started taking the new OP 20mg on Friday 3X daily. After the 2nd dose I felt sick to stomach I did not relate it to pill, After 2nd day I felt like I was going to die. Could not eat or drink or sleep. Had chills like withdrawal symptoms. Day 3 throwing up, stopped taking the pills. Two days have past I now take the Opana, as soon as I started taking the Opana my symptoms were subsiding. I never in my 54 yrs of life felt the sickness I felt those 3 days. I am not an abuser of them. I do take them everyday 3x a day. I normally take the 30mg OC 3x daily and dropped down to 20mg. I call them Oxy Poision OP I will never take another one in my life, even i...
