Today the doctor switched me from Kadian to Oramorph. I was taking 80 mg. of Kadian twice a day to Oramorph 60 mg twice a day. Should I expect the same relief I was getting on this lower dose. The change was due to the need to lower costs for my meds. Is there a difference between the beads and capsule form of kadian as the pill form of Oramorph? Thanks for any help. ## They both contain Morphine, so yes, switching fro a higher dose to a lower one may not give you quite as much pain control. They are both time releases formulations, so there is really no difference in that. The side effects will also remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. getting a meth high from snorting oramorph and xanax ## This is definitely NOT a safe practice, it is actually VERY dangerous. Not only are you running the risk of overdose, but you are also inhaling substances that are not meant to be broken down by the human body. Many pills contain fillers that are nornally just expelled in your waste. When inhaled or injected, they can create clots and blockages, resulting in decreased lung capacity and stroke. How long have you been doing this?

I am currently taking Oramorph, Loratab, Zanaflex, Baclofen, Zanax, Omeprazole, Phenegran, Lonox. For some strange reason when I took a urine test it showed I had high levels of Dilaudid in my system. I really need some one to help me figure this out. ## It is probably caused by the oramorph, as dilaudid is hydro-morphone and is a morphine/opiate just as dilaudid ## Yes, Dilaudid is the pill form for heroin. It is probably the Oromorph, which is morphine.

## I am a nursing student. My final exam is focused on palliative care. I would appreciate any information about prescribing in palliative care. The scenario for my exam states that the patient is to be commenced on Morphine Sulphate oral solution, as Oromorph 10mg/5ml, 5mg four hourly to titrate his analgesic requirements. (The patient is suffering from terminal prostate cancer). Any information will be greatly welcomed. Thanks!!
