I have to go to pain management for the first time on friday. It is tuesday can anyone help me out and tell me if the opanas will be out of my system by friday so i will be in the clear? ## It is really difficult to give you a definitive answer. Narcotics are usually detectable in a urine test for 4 to 5 days, after taking them. However, other factors can also have an effect on this. Such as your metabolism, overall health, activity levels, fluid intake, frequency of use and amount used. Has anyone been on the generic Opana ER that is being made by Global/Impax Pharmaceuticals long enough to give an honest opinion as to how much more effective they are then Opana? My pharmacist just ordered the oxymorphone ER's for me today. I haven't gotten any relief from Opana. I take 60mg of the ER's twice a day with 3, 10mg. oxymorphone pills for breakthrough pain. I'm getting more relief from the 10mg generics then I am with the 60mg ER's. Will I be able to just take the 40mg ER's without the added 20mg ER's? I am desperately seeking a doctor or clinic in western nc that will continue to prescribe my opana! I was released from family care for no xanax in my urine! Hi, I'm new here, hoping I can find some answers by real people. I have been taking 80mg oxocontin 1x12hrs., for app. 7 months, via pain clinic, they just, app., 3 weeks ago, changed my meds from that to opanaER 40mg., 1x12hrs., does anyone know the difference between the two? I have been suffering a long time from pain, due to 2 unsuccessful back surgeries, they tell me now, there's nothing more they can do, I am permanently nerve damaged. I get randomly drug tested at school I have no f***ing idea what kind of test they use but I know it goes to a hospital. would taking an opana 20er be the same as taking a roxycotin and morphine pill one a urine drug test? ## It actually depends on the type of test being done. There are some tests that will just show the presence of opiates and, if that is they type used, then that is all any of then would be detected as being. However, there are other tests that are most specific and can show the exact opiates that were taken, by analyzing their individual metabolites. I have recently began with a new PM dr that is fabulous. He basically lets me determine the best combo of pain meds for my back and hip issues that are too numerous to list, however, the severity requires anterior/posterior surgery which I'm trying to avoid at all costs. He originally gave me both ms contin and opana to try to determine which works best for me. The ms contin killed the pain but also killed the brain if u know what I mean. The opana worked good but it only has a bioavailability of roughly 10% which makes me feel as tho I'm wasting my time. I'm also taking percocet 10's for breakthru that honestly seems to blow the opana out of the water as far as effectiveness. So my question is who thinks if I switch to the ms 30mg er with perc 10's for the breakthru...

Took 2 opana er 20 mg on sat and have a urine drug test on Tuesday. I do not take them regular. Should I be able to pass it? ## I took a 40 mg opana on Saturday night and I have to go for a test Wednesday morning. Will it be out of my urine by then? ## I take a probation urine drug screen on Tuesday. I injected a 40 mg opana Saturday evening. Will it be outta my pee by Tuesday morning? ## I don't think so. I know it all depends on your metabolism and how fast it goes but with injecting it is in your blood longer than taking orally which is #5 days and intra-nasal is #3 days.

I took a 20 mg opana er on friday and a 10mg sunday. I think i have a urine test weds morning. Am i in trouble? ## Opana is like morphine and stays in your system for about 3 days. ## I would make sure I drank like 2 gallons of water. If this was taken by mouth it takes #5 days, but it does depend on your metabolism.

i take an opana 20 mg. one every 12 hours and norco 10 mg 6 through out day. i recently had to do a 10 panel drug screen and a GCMS was done. i also take 1 mg zanax 3 time a day. why would hydromorphone show up instead of oxymorphone. i am just overwhelmed. PCP showed up on the test also, never done it. and i tested positive for cocaine. havent done that for a looonng time. over 15 years. i have allergies and use afrin and sinus cold med. cant get my meds til doc. gets back and i will be out of them for a week, the doc. covering him will not fill my script till my doc. gets back. My Dr has given me the option to switch from Opana ER 45mg to msCottin ER! How many MG of MSCottin ER will it take to equale the Opana ER 45mg?? ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? Opana is actually much stronger than Morphine, so you'd need 135mgs of the MS Contin to equal each 45mgs of the Opana. That's quite a lot to take. Is the Opana no longer working for you? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been on 15 mg opana er for 2 years. My appointment is in two hours to be put on morphine. They want to put me on 15 mg of that as well. I have a brain disease and suffer from chronic headaches and severe eye pressure. Is this even close to providing the same relief? And I also have epilepsy and if I go through withdrawals I can start to have seizures. I live in the boro.... close to Nashville also. I have searched everywhere it seems, and was hoping someone could put me on the right path to a pharmacy that has them in the area.... Thank you ## Rite aid in old hickory might be worth a shot. Unfortunately, pharmacies can not tell you over the phone if they have that medication. I have been on 20mg opana er for quite some time and on 30 oxycodone for even longer than the opana. I had a drug screen last week at my Dr's office and was told my oxycodone didn't show up in my system but oxymorphone did show up. So the dr told me I violated my pain contract by not taking my pain medication. I have taken both my pain meds everyday. I told them I wanted another drug test done right then. I haven't got the results of this one yet. My question is why would oxymorphone show up and not oxycodone? What is the conversion of opana er to exalgo er? I used to take 20mg opana er 3 times a day and was switched to 16mg exalgo er once a day, but it doesn't seem to treat the pain as well or as steady as the opana. ## According to NIH conversions, it would require 15mgs of Exalgo to be equivalent to each 20mgs of Opana that you were taking, so no your dosage is not high enough to equal your prior medication. Are you on any other medications? Have you informed your medical provider?
