On Suboxone And Still In Pain

I had lots of surgeries and many health problems. Used opiates 4 ten years and became addicted. I was on methadone 4 almost 5 years. Now I've been on suboxone 4 ten years. But, I still suffer with pain. Don't want 2 go back on pain pills, but, don't know what 2 do?

I feel the same as u. STUCK! I had many of surgeries and have a lot of medical problems. I was on heavy duty pain meds 4 ten years. Then I went on methadone, that helped with pain. But, I decided 2 taper off after 5 years. I was on 120mgs and got down to 24mgs. At that point the withdrawals were so bad, I walked into my Drs. Office in tears begging him 2 help me. He said I had 2 choices. Either stay on methadone and increase the dose or go on suboxone. I went right on suboxone that day. I suffer all the time with pain, but I don't ever want 2 b back where I was addicted 2 pain pills. Maybe u can talk 2 your Dr. And he can give u something that's safe 2 take or try methadone? I totally know what u r going through.

I feel the same. Way, been on suboxone for 5 plus years now at 8 mgs a day/ I have a Herrington rod in my spine and my pain is starting to really come back hard it's affecting my everyday life and I have no clue what to due, people are saying bupe itself blocks opiates, false, the nalaxone is the only thing that is blocking it, chances people won't feel Meds even if only on subutex is because it is a very strong medication but w ceiling effect. Anyway, I'm contemplating cold turkey but that seems too many days and I've tried methadone treatment for a little while but its not what I want

Dear Dirk, u don't want 2 go back on pain meds? Is that what u mean ? I know that I don't ever want 2 b caught up in that addiction, again. But, I know how u feel, STUCK! If u do get off the subs, make sure 2 do it very SLOWLY. I wouldn't recommend going cold turkey. You'll b suffering even more. Good luck! Let me know how u make out.

I,m on subs for addiction issues but also have pain issues. My sub Dr. told me that suboxone only works about 6hrs for pain relief. He has me split up my dose 3 times a day. It does help with the pain issue somewhat. He,s right about it wearing off in about 6 hrs as far as the pain issue goes.

Dear Jolter, my Dr says I can split mine up 3 times a day or take them all at once. I take them all at the same time. I am on a larger dose than a lot of people and it usually helps with the pain 4 about most of the day. I do a lot of suffering at night.

Hey Jolter, I might just do that. I've just been stuck doing it the same way. 4 years . Wanted 2 ask, did u ever get theat surgery done?

Not yet. I,m not getting it done until the end of year. Work will be slow then and I also want to taper down and be off the subs before having it done.

Hi Jolter, do u know how 2 edit 4 privacy? I see a private word that comes up, but, I dont know how 2 use it. Also, wanted 2 tell u , I'm getting a kitten any day now. That will help me a lot.

Thats cool your getting another cat. If you mean edit for privacy on your apple phone just ask same question in your search box on computer and it will bring you to some videos you can watch. When they say edit for privacy on here that is the folks who run site way of blocking out someones address that they posted. Nothing you can do about it.

I take 16mg, 4 mgs 4x a day. I use generic 2mg sub tablets. Little white half moon/154. Brand actavis. My chronic pain is controlled consistantly, about 75-80% if the pain is gone. I never have to increase my dose. Sometimes I take ketoprofen as a back up but im not a slave to ever increasing zombifying super strong opiates. Ill take a little bit more pain over that.
