My Doctor just recently Diagnosed me with Type 2 Diabetes a Month ago. So i was prescribed and have been taking Metformin 500 MG twice a day with a Meal. My first meal of the day is always a light one, if any and my 2nd Meal always in the Late Evening is generally med to heavy. But I find that since taking this drug that I have been sleeping alot, always feeling lazy and have been experiencing Heart Burn at times. But I don't think that I have Lactate Acidious that they warn of. Is this the Normal side effects of this Drug? And how long does it last? As I have noticed that if I stop taking the Medicine my Meter Readings are always above 200 after eating anything, so I probally do need to take the Medication.

I am advised to take metformin 5oo twice a day, since a month. I don't feel any side effects but am constipated. My blood sugar is at pre sent 5.4 and hb1ac is 8.3. How long I should continue with this medication

Hello! Doctor put me on the Metformin,But during the two weeks while I was on It. Was giving me problems, as I was having a difficult time with Bowel Movement, I stopped , an now am doing fine. I take a reading every other day an gives me a reading 140 after Three hours after a meal.

A rare side effect of metformin is thinng of hair on your head . Another rear side effect is in females is growing of a mustache and a beard. These are not a lot of hairs just a few, sparse, thick hairs. Do. NOT shave them as they will just grow back thicker.
