This contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach to treat these types of conditions.

SIde effects may include: nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain.

Hi there, I've suffered from possible gastric ulcer and anxiety due to stress related issues for the last year or so. for the last 3 to 4 months it just got worst because off all the stress.

I went to see my doctor last week and told her all the pain I have so this is the report she gave me:

Symptoms of anxiety – nausea, abdominal pain, severe weight loss

- skin rash

- palpitations

- emotional lability and insomnia

over the past 3-4 months.




On examination: Vitals normal and stable

Cardiovascular Normal

Respiratory Normal

Abdominal – tenderness epigastric

No masses felt

Generalized discomfort

No acute abdomen

Musculoskeletal – very tender neck and shoulder muscles, spasm of muscles neck and shoulders



Conclusion : Patient is presenting with symptoms and signs of anxiety and stress.

Most probably gastritis or even peptic ulcer disease and spastic colon is present.



As I explained to the patient the only way to diagnose all of above is to do Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy or further examinations by a Specialist surgeon.



Symptomatic treatment for the epigastric pain was prescribed and suggestion of a trial period of about two weeks on the treatment was proposed. If it doesn’t respond on treatment it is advised to make an appointment with a surgeon for further tests.



Treatment for Insomnia and Anxiety also started and suggested consultation with a Psychologist.



Medication prescribed: Omez 40 (40mg), Bevispas (135mg), Alchera (7.5mg) and Trepiline (10mg).


I’ve been on these medication for almost 2 weeks now and my stomach are swolen everyday then I have severe pain, even if I drink plenty of water. It feels like something is swolen in my stomach and are putting pressure on my bladder. I've already had most of the symptoms mentioned in the side effect's section for OMEZ 40 due to anxiety so it feels like Omez is worstening my symptoms?

Is it possible or must I seek for new medication? On the moment I am taking OMEZ 40 1 p/d, BEVISPAS for pain, ALCHERA for Insomnia and TRIPLILINE for anxiety.

For the last year I was on several kinds of medication (Colon ecology, sweden bitter, malcosan, probiflora, cayenne pepper, digestive enzymes, etc.) most herbal.

I am scared to go for the gasto- and colonoscopy , because of all the pain I already have. Is there any other alternative I can take and maybe other tests that would help to diagnose correctly.?

I am so confused on the moment because of all the different possibilities.
