hi..i am allergic to sulpher based drugs..is there any thing to worry about if i take omez 20..thanx ## The active ingredient in Omez is Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that is used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to prevent or treat conditions such as heartburn, GERD and gastritis. It is not a sulfur based medication, however, I don't know what the active ingredients are, though due to these types of allergies, they usually note any sulfur ingredients and warn about it. You could ask your pharmacist to be sure. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, flatulence and abdominal pain. Learn more: Are there any comments or questions?

I opened a 20milligram capsule and found it contained a buff coloured tablet with no markings on it...this cant be right as i thought it should contain powder ## There are some on the market that do contain a tablet, inside a capsule to make it easier to swallow and cause it to have less effect on people who are already suffering from GERD. my pharmacy would not fill my prescription for omeprazole because I also take vyvanse ## Omeprazole can cause some medications, such as Lisdexamfetamine to be absorbed much faster than they nornally would, which could result in your getting to much of the medication at once. Have you tried talking to your doctor about an alternative? There are also some over the counter items on the market that may be safe for you to use, but you should ask your doctor or pharmacist just to be certain.
